    **Aramean King**::... Assyrian Orthodox church is what is today known as Jacobite church or Syriac, church the official name is (The Church of the east) ASSYRIAN CHURCH. Where was your Aram ? i have never heard of your Aramean kingdom.
    You need to understand the terms first the origins ... Syriac, Suryani, Suryoyo Suroyo are all from Ashur, , English = Assyria !!
    Very nice song Ilona Danho Basma ganekh azezta

    Assyria was a superpower, and the Arameans (nomads) were proud te be the slaves of the Assyrian kings! Assyria was so powerful that even the Aramean kings sold their honour and evertyhing they had, just to be left alive!

    Im ashamed how some Assyrians so badly want to be nomadic Arameans from the deserts of Syria. The evidence are clear. Our people have always lived in the Assyrian heartlands. We only form a majority in the heart of Assyria i.e the Nineveh Plains. We have called ourselves Suraye since before the empire fell. The A before Suraye did actually fall because we adapted Aramaic (which we spread to the world, not the Arameans). The falling of the initial A is normal in Aramaic, for example Akhol becomes khol etc. Our language is Assyrian (Surayt). We know the ancient Assyrians called their language Surayt when they adapted Aramaic and Asurayt when they spoke Akkadian. The time has come to erase the 30 year old Aramean ideology. Assyrians come from all churches. Arameans come only from one. Wake up peasants and embrace your own true Assyrian (Suroyo) identity

      I am Assyrian. But that doesn't mean that we are pure ancestors of the ancient Assyrians. Due to the deportation policy of the Assyrians and Babylonians hunderds of thousands of the Aramaeans were brought to Assyria and Babylonia. Those mixed up with the original people of these places. We are Assyrian/Babylonian/Aramaeans mix. We should be proud to belong to all these ancient people.

      Suryoyo, Syriac, Surayt does not mean Assyrian. Your comment doesn’t have evidence to what’s your claiming to be called facts at all. Assyrians always fail the arguments when they try proving their evidences because they are so not true and doesn’t exist.

      Read the works of Robert Rollinger (Cinekoy-inscription), Simo Parpola
      (this one is good: media.hujada.nu/2019/03/Parpola-identity_Article_-Final1.pdf)
      We also clearly can see the same pattern repeating itself over and over again. Look at Ishtar during the Neo-Assyrian Empire they started saying Shtar and eventually ended up in contracting it as Star. We still have plenty examples in our modern languages. These are facts.
      Ashur --> Shur --> Sur (i.e Assyria)
      Ashurayyu --> Shurayyu --> Surayyu and then came Suraya/Suroyo (i.e Assyrian)
      All of these terms have been used interchangeably to refer to Assyria.
