My brother in law died right before Christmas of 2015, and at the memorial service that our family held, there was easily 500+ people there that he’d impacted at one point or another in life, myself included. This song kicks me in the gut EVERY time, especially when I play this version with the family and friends around. His death was dreadfully tragic, but his life made an incredible change in everyone else’s that he came in contact with....I only hope and pray that one day, people may say the same about me. We all miss you Ricky. ❤️
I just listened to several other versions of this song, and none are as good as this. Including Leonard Cohen's version. Cohen may have made it famous, and for that I'm thankful. But the quality of performance is much better here.
