Buddhism is the main religion and Burmese is the main language in Myanmar. Most of Burmese girls and women put “Thanaka” on their face which is a paste made from ground bark and a distinctive feature of the culture of Myanmar. Apart from cosmetic beauty, thanaka also gives a cooling sensation and provides protection from sunburn.
