Sir I'm doing CFST column steel beam joint connected with bolted connection subjected to cyclic loading at beam end After running I'm not getting strength degradation portion in the result In property module, I have given elastic and plastic property with combined hardening Still I'm not getting strain softening region Please help.
Can you explain more on what causes softening under cyclic loading during experiments? This would help suggest a few options. Also, what material properties have been used? Does the material shows isotropic and also kinematic hardening during the cyclic loading?
Thanks prof. Pls, How can the wheel tracking test be simulated using Abaqus software?. Most especially the load application of the wheel. The wheel (700N (weight); Diameter (200mm); 50mm (contact width); contact length (20mm)) performs a back and forth movement on a sample of asphalt concrete (300mm by 260mm and 60mm thick. The wheel moves with a speed of 26.5 cycles per minute and is supposed to ply a to-fro distance of 230mm on the asphalt concrete, it also reaches it maximum velocity (305mm/s) at the center of the pavement. The wheel will cover 10,000 cycles in the experiment. The experiment is designed to simulate the rutting behavior of asphalt concrete. Please help prof.
for SN curve, i presume you are after high cycle fatigue for such analysis you may have to consider FE-Safe with ABAQUS which might have a different name now.
@@Professor3MEC thank you for your response. I am working on it now. If you can make a video on a similar problem, that would be so much helpful. Thank you

Thanks for your tutorial. I have a question. can I have one cyclic Load in the first 10second of analysis and then have a different cyclic load in the last 10 seconds. first Cyclic Load is Force-Control and the latter one is Displacement-Control.
yes for a simplistic case, you will have to create two different amplitude cards and then link them to first force and then to displacement. If need help then let me know and I am try to create a short video.
In general, pinching effect is widely observed in the hysteretic behavior of RC structures. According to experimental studies, the pinching effect is associated with crack closure, shear lock, slippage of longitudinal reinforcement, and so on. I am not an expert on concrete, however if you could send me some more info on what is required I may be able to create a simple video on that.
@@Professor3MEC OK, well, I want to mention that the main problem of general-purpose FE softwares as Abaqus and Ansys , that they do not consider directly the pinching effect during cyclic loading, I will be thankful if you prepare other video for this case. Thanks

Currently my object is not moving in forward direction but , just undergoing cyclic loading on same spot. Please give any tips....
could be related to loading and boundary conditions did you make sure that you are not fixing the active degree of freedom in the cyclic loading direction? or send me the model file and I can have a quick look.
I want to incorporate the cyclic loading parameters K and n and want to perform cycles until low cycle fatigue occurs in the component. What should be done? Could you please help?
thank you it is helpful. please help me. i have a lateral drift history(drift ratio vs lateral drift) but i have no amplitude vs time history. how can i get? am using Abaqus for simulation. The specimens were tested by controlling lateral displacement at the loading point. Lateral displacements were increased from 7.25 to 203 mm in stages, and load cycles were Repeated three times each displacement stage.

This video is really helpful. Anyway, how to get combined hardening parameters of steel bar since we just have yield stress, ultimate stress, yield strain and ultimate strain values?
Thanks for appreciation. Combined hardening model requires cyclic stress strain data to be used to identify kinematic hardening parameters. So may be look for cyclic stress strain data and then try to fit the kinematic hardening parameters with experimental curves. Process of identification will be similar to the third option discussed in the following video. ua-cam.com/video/bfMU1-oOLqQ/v-deo.html
Hi, thanks for the video- it's very helpful. However, how do I apply acceleration in 3 directions simultaneously? the tabular input will be like following time, x-axis vibration, y-axis vibration, z-axis vibration 0 x x x 1 x x x 2 x x x 3 x x x
Thanks for the appreciation. You may create three amplitude curves instead of one if they are different in each direction. Then when you create boundary condition, you can assign separate amplitude curve to each boundary condition. I hope i was clear.

i am not aware a direct method. If you can provide more details or research paper then I can suggest something.
Can I do the cyclic load test in Ansys?
yes you can do that.
It is possible to run cyclic loading in Analysis Type : Static General?
Yes 🙌🏻 t should be for quasi static cases. For inertia effects might be better to use explicit step.

Get the loading data as a function of time from experiments and using the same approach shown in the video create amplitude function. Good luck
Sir instead of applying displacement load.. Is it possible to apply pressure load over a circular area in a cyclic way
Yes it should be fine. Instead of displacement boundary conditions, go to loads and select pressure and then use any amplitude function.
