love the review! i think the killer is a great example of a movie that deconstucts its genre without being too ironic/humorous. i mean, the actual portrayal of boredom that real-life killers experience, the protagonist that we cannot feel empathy for, no redemption arcs, occasional failures, "deep" monologues, the smiths!!! etc. it just feels incredibly real and refreshing

Huge fan of this film, a return to form from Fincher but a continuation for yourself. Fantastic video with great analysis!

I think Panic Room is his simplest film. The Killer probably had the simplest screenplay for sure .

This is a more refined film that takes its time to properly show what the life of a hit man’s life actually is carefully plotting and strategizing and trying to take everything into account. It’s a film that demands you be patient as the opening monologue expresses. The Killer is obsessed with perfection and we get to see all the small things in pursuit of that very perfection in his craft. Overall Fincher has come a long way since the fight club days

I took my little brother to see it in theaters and he fell asleep halfway through, It’s not his best but overall a good Fincher movie…I feel like the mixed reviews are coming from the new generation of cinephiles being that most of their attention spans are short and require action throughout the whole movie to grasp their attention.

Far ftom it I think! Why are there so many references to his other films, for example? Why do we get the speil about the Killer's process only to see him miss the first shot he takes? Fincher is up to something, though what I haven't put my finger on yet.

Hey! I really appreciate this, thanks so much for your kind words! I use premiere pro to edit all from my laptop. I have a Rode NTG-2 mic which I would mainly use as a boom mic for short films- you definitely don't need to spend that much on a mic for voiceovers! I wish you the best of luck and can't wait to see what you create!

A fincher film and michael fasbender sounded great but it was a big let down. What guys leaves his wife on her deathbed, that's a divorce in the making. 😅

@@cinemabandits I can respect pretty much any Fincher ranking, so many all time greats have come from him. But I found this really quite an incredible film

@@wheredyougomatt right on. I mean he is a pretty incredible director. In my opinion I feel like he doesn’t ever change his style at all. Would be refreshing to see him switch up his look a bit.
