GPRN CELEBRATES 77th NAGA INDEPENDENCE DAY AT TOLUVI VILLAGE

The Government of the People's Republic of Nagaland (GPRN) on August 14 celebrated 77th Naga Independence Day at Toluvi village. Colonel (Retired), Ato Kilonser (GPRN), Isak Sumi gave the Naga Independence Day speech. During his speech, Isak Sumi stated that every year on this historic day (August 14) the people of Nagaland from all walks of life are reminded of the solemn oath to uphold the proud legacy that has been passed upon. The proud legacy of the Nagas has been sanctified by the precious blood and priceless sacrifices of the thousands of lives.
Sumi during his speech also stated that the struggle for independence is not just a myth or legend that can be supplanted by any other alternative but has been founded on the deep-rooted truth of Naga history, culture and identity
