Dude, so glad you demoed this, was curious how it would feel for high gain stuff. Also, wanted to hopefully give some insight, on something you mentioned! Companies being able to make roasty necks for less $$$ mostly has to do with wood species and grading, gatekeeping by the industry, and the huge increase in popularity/large scale adoption of roast maple necks by us as players, in recent years. Torrefaction allows for lower quality grades and softer species of maple that would have previously been undesirable or impractical for instrument manufacturers, to be sold at a profitable rate, where they were previously of little value for lumber mills. I picked up roughly 5-6 neck blanks worth of decently figured Roast Maple for around $105 USD after shipping. Bet we'll start seeing roast bamboo, amaranth, hickory and even hemp become super popular in the next couple years, as well.
IDK if you read my message prior to me editing the message, but I was incorrect. The guitar however doesn’t provide output at all for the first few seconds you turn the processor and patches on. So if you were thinking of using it without the patches for portions of a song and then put effects or patches on for leads……. then the guitar will simply not be outputting any sound for around 3 seconds after you turn the superknob.
@@BaenaCarcosa Hey andrew! I checked out Carcosa's merch on the website and I couldn't find this hoodie. Is there any realistic way for me to get my hands on one?
Hey Andrew - did you try using pitch shift? I cannot find any useful info about it. Do you know if it can do polyphonic pitch shift, and how would it compare to the usual suspect - Digitech Drop and Helix Polycapo?

Got my S800 (gold metallic) on Black Friday for $330 +tax, shipped. I understand it's not everybody's thing, but it's a ton of fun! And at that price, I figured I'd give it a try. And since I bought it on Amazon, I can return it if it's not any good. But it's a keeper!
The stereo thing is easy...if a Line 6 HX Stomp can be stereo, then that thing can be stereo...you'd just have a Left/Mono and a Right quarter inch jack on the guitar...the real estate is easily there on that guitar, and the Left/ Mono Right stereo option in amp and effects modeling devices have been around for years...They need to get Roland GK modeled guitar tones and programmable alternate tuning in that thing, upgrade the pedal to where it has a Volume / Wah pedal handled by Bluetooth just like the switching is handled...then IMO, that would be a gigging guitar that I would for sure use...in it's current state though, it's not quite to where I'd be selling my JTV's and HELIX LT to transition to that, because no stereo effects, no volume / wah, no alternate tuning in guitar modeling...they get that going on, and I'd be no longer on a leash...I'd be wireless...it would be way awesome...it has to do all that, and sound great, look great, and play as great as it sounds...thanks for the video!
So I would assume this would be a much more scaled down but midpriced Line 6 variax? Not too bad but I'm going to pass for now. If it becomes proven to be a solid execution with more options and potential firmware updates then you can count me in. Good find!
My thoughts exactly. But it does help you from having to buy a helix to use its full potential like in case of variax's. This has one built in, so a few updates and tweaks and its good to go.
This would be amazing as a gat for tech-savvy beginners or people with no space. Basically useless for people with all the proper kit, but seems like a cool innovation.
@@mesadeco1 as the computer part of the guitar will age very fast, I dont think it is a good idea unless they put the concept of a removeable/upgradeable effect unit. Not the firmware but d hardware must be upgradeable
Yea I was wondering the same that would be dope or even a pc and mac app that allows to use like you would use amplitube etc... Pick more than one pedel at once etc... And yea drop tuning would be dope af too
The variax is way more than $500 isn't it? It's like $1200 in Canada at least. Also I'm pretty sure you need to have the helix or pod still since it controls that, the sound doesn't come from the actual guitars output? (I could be wrong about that, but that's how I thought it worked at least)
Why is everyone so amazed the Variax did this many years ago in fact it had no magnetic pickups. Guitarist don’t really like innovation that is why it was ignored. You don’t need this guitar just the loaded pickguard or the electronics inside.

They should make a foot controler with more switches and an expression pedal.
this gives me an idea, buy the GTRS, ditch the guitar, install the pickups and internals to a new decent donor guitar.
