In todays video we will be installing the floor trim around several of our bullnose corners and installing a base inside the 2 closets to allow us to have a proper place to install continuous trim throughout the house. We are using 6 inch squared of floor trim so there is no need to have to do any coping on the corners. Hope you enjoy and this helps you in your projects. Thanks for posting this and being willing to post a video where you show mistakes. Way more helpful and realistic.
I tried to get information at the hardware store to add new baseboards to bullnose corners. They sell them for decorative trim only, but I want flat, wide baseboards. Your video was exactly what I needed and will cost 50% less to make them myself. Thank you so much!
Thank you. Best, advice I've seen yet on the bullnose. I've got bullnose corners all over my downstairs and one upstairs and I had done them before but forgot how. Thanks for the refresher
Yep
That was great job, we are going to use your tips.
Thank you for watching.
Thanks for the video. I've been a pro trim carpenter since 1983. I fly on bullnose base corners.
I do not fly on them. Lol…
Thank you for the pro tip. Im down my base trim tomorrow morning

Thanks for sharing
Great video
Thanks for the tutorial man .. new subscriber here..
Thanks for watching man. Check out some of the other videos. We do all kinds of projects!
Great video. I am replacing all of my builder grade baseboards with pretty much the same base that you are installing here. I too have those bullnose corners and I was stumped as to how to handle those. Your sawing was a little too fast for me. I bought myself a miter saw and it's only a single bevel (still learning terms). I bought it solely to do baseboard so I couldn't justify spending top dollar for one. I am getting myself confused as to how to make these cuts. Oh and I should say that my saw is only like 7 1/2 or something. I can't stand the 6" baseboard. I have to lay it flat and with only a single bevel I'm thinking I have to cut upside down on one side or backwards. And I have no idea how to make a stop so I can cut like 25 bullnose all the same width. The more I think about it the more overwhelmed I get. Have any pointers for a homeowner that has never done anything like this before? Thank you
It will be a little more complicated with your setup. What I would do is probably count up how many bull nose corners you have, then I’d cut 22.5 degree leaving a few inches of board behind the cut. If you have 20 bull nose, cut 20 pieces with 22.5 degree on one side, then you gonna measure 3/4 of an inch on the back side of each piece, then make your second 22.5 degree cut on each one. The extra length on each board will give you something to clamp down on so you can hold the piece down and cut a nice straight cut on the second cuts. If you need help shoot me an email at customdiyguy@gmail.com, I’d be happy to shoot a quick video for you.
love the sign on the door ;}
Oh yeah. The boss is serious about her floors!!
@@chrisbuildsitall Good Stuff lol
😂yo that caulk gun was begging for mercy😂
Yes it is. Definitely need a new one
If I could offer a suggestion. I think it would be much easier, and quicker if you would use CA glue with spray activator.
Oh awesome. Thanks! I’ll do that on the next one! Appreciate the comment
No. CA glue isn't for porous surfaces or long term use.
@@MAGAMANthere’s a lot of carpenters that use CA glue with activator
Crazy glue? Dries really fast and only need a few drops.
Great video. A few questions...
1. What is the size of that base board?
2. What type of material is it? Pine, mdf, etc...
3. What size do you recommend for door trim to complement your particular base boards?
Base board is 1x6 (actual 3/4 x 5 1/2), we used 3 1/2 trim on the door sides and 4 1/2 trim for the tops of the doors and over hung the top piece by 1 inch on each side. All is MDF.
@@chrisbuildsitall Did you baseboard and casings come eased or are they the standard sharp edges?
Good job
Thanks for watching
Use wood glue, not caulking. Lay the boards out flat and lined up, then put some painters tape across the back of them, so when you glue the joints and rotate them into position, the tape holds the outside of the joints nice and tight and even so it doesn't look like crap, like the corners in this video do.
Good tip thanks
Savage LOL
Good video l like it
Thanks

8:21 Wow, that is a really good way to lose some fingers.
Ya, I definitely need to get my miter station built so I can operate safer for sure.
What's wrong with it? How should it be done?
Someone installed a couple baseboards without a scarf joint, just butted them. Has this happened to you? Maybe cut a stud at 45 degrees and use it as a ramp to guide a multi tool at a 45 ? and scarf in a short run?
That’s what I do I mine. Cut a 45 on each piece to join them. Using a stud would work well.
Thank you muchas gracias
Wasted 20 minutes on how to subscribe
Hope those MDF trim boards never get wet.
Me too. 😂
22.5 degree cut
Yes sir!
You need to pick up a bench dog bull nose trim gauge and save some time
I’ll look into that. Thanks!
Before the video you, commented about being profitable.
Not good
Maybe because you comment about monitory.
Before I watch the video
I would assume the bull nose would be 22.5°
Just keeping it real. Like everyone the creates content for the masses, it’s to try and make a living.
With that said, 22.5 is correct, x 4 to make the 90* turn. Thanks for watching.
For them 11/16 pieces
What size nails are you using?
2” 18 gauge brads
Why don’t you just use the bevel on the back?
I saw a video on that, I would of done that and think it looks way better but I already did several other corners and didn’t want to redo them all.
@@chrisbuildsitall Can you provide a link to the bevel video you are referring to?
3/4 of an in for the corners
Thanks Dan!
Mark the mf chop saw
Hey, stick to the business at hand though... Too much time wasted on profitable and sharing etc. If your videos are good, they'll be shared and you'll become profitable without having to ask
