I hope they keep going past shoulders they’ve done great but I don’t see why they can’t do gloves, some utility, wrist pieces, knee pads or even some helmet attachments or certain chest pieces cross core.

I also hope that Career Progression works with Firefight. As someone who's not good at PVP, being able to progress in Firefight would be amazing, and I know many others in my position would agree. It doesn't help with how Competitive the game has gotten and the SBMM that has people getting thrown in unwinnable or unlosable matches.
If it’s matchmaking I don’t see why not. Career rank is based upon you the later score in matchmaking games. So any game mode in the matchmaking playlist, which I’m sure firefight will be, will give you progression towards career rank.
People were even grinding in bot boot camp, a PvE mode and getting rank, so I’m sure that the same will be for Firefight
My guess is that it will, but it will have a multiplier

I think that's maybe a little low, but the principle is sound.
we probably can but if bot bootcamp is anything to go by, it might not be worth it. Granted I'm still low in the bronze ranks but from what I saw, it takes 2 or 3 matches to rank up in bronze with pvp, win or lose. It takes as many as 10 matches in bot bootcamp to rank up. And that's just in the bronze ranks, never mind the higher tiers.

I really hope they do cross coatings for promotional paints. I absolutely love my northwest sky coating. I just wish it wasn't stuck on the default core.
Also the campaign coatings too.

Was really hoping to hear something on removing or toning down SBMM in social modes. My friends have trouble playing with me cause they only get matched against people on my matchmaking level. Hate to see it holding the game back.
For real, SBMM is killing my interest in continued playing. I have to actively tank my games to get matched with my friends and not have the game be a sweaty HCS tryout
This will be great to customize our Spartans that much more. At least with all the items we have unlocked/bought already.
Sadly I am sure, with each new Cross-Core update, they will increase the shop prices (both new and old items) to reflect the "extra usage/value". Just like they already have been doing in Season 5.

I actually noticed this on the mirage armor core. After the update I was playing around with all the customization and it was showing mark VII shoulder pieces available but couldn’t be equipped. They were misaligned too.
The alignment is kind of wonky looking even on some pieces on their intended cores. Upgrading shoulders to cross-core would be a great occasion to also fix some of the ones that look like they're floating a little bit off the rest of the suit, or sit oddly low on the arms and leave the actual shoulders of the undersuit showing.

So right now only helmets are able to be used on all cores?
For the HCS season 1 bundles, they should maby just add them all back to the HCS store along with the rest and make them so you can customise them also.
I hope they allow us to purchase season 1 HCS kits again because I really want that Cloud 9 visor
I don't understand why they can't just keep all the HCS stuff in the shop. Would definitely help out the orgs. The HCS basically cared infinite the first 2- 3 seasons.
Im so happy they didnt give an F about the people crying and whinning about fracture helmets beign cross core, lmao. Im so happy they as well will bring cross core shoulders, chest would be next and i would be more than satisfied.

More cross-core is awesome but FOR THE LOVE OF GOD UPDATE THE MENUS! I spend half my life scrolling through helmets and visors now.
favoriting the decent ones and filtering by favorites helps a bit.
Hope this doesn’t mean that we are just getting cross core on helmet/sshoulders/visors/coatings… what about our chestPlates/kneePads/gloves/utility/wrist attachments? I bought many of them having cross core in mind :/
I really doubt gloves will get cross core compatible. It’s the undersuit issue.
Cross-core shoulders is cool and all, but why dont they just do cross-core everything right now?
The chests are probably the most vulnerable to clipping because of the underlying model shapes differing.
Because its not that simple
Each armor core is different, if they just dunk all the pieces of the armor to every armor core, there's likely gonna be clipping issues or it will just be in a awkward position.
I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure they just don't want the armor pieces to float off the body

Having cross core shoulders will be a one step closer of finally having full cross core customization that players been wanting to have.

@@DISNYEFASTPLAY Indeed. Though, the only armor cores i'm not sure it's gonna be fully cross core are the fracture ones from how different their shapes are compared to the main ones. Especially how Eaglestrike is the bulkiest armor core in the game, which may have incompatibilities.
@@Redsword603 That’s completely fine with me cause my main ambition was to put mark 5 shoulders on mark 7 😌 I’m happy either way. AND I can put it on Rakshasa! U can best believe I’m more than happy 😄
@@DISNYEFASTPLAY Oh I can tell it's gonna make a lot more happy once they can put their favorite shoulder pads on their favorite armor cores. I'm definitely excited of being able to put the big shoulder pads like the Sap/SEC, Sap/GND, T-55 and Highcom Sentinel on my armor cores like Hazmat, Rakshasa and Mirage IIC.
I hope they give us cross compatibility for the weekly ultimate challenge rewards because whiskey fox trot and willow tea are too good just to be relegated to mk 7

I just want my shoulders from Mark V(B), Mark VII, and Rakshasa to be cross core between each other and I’ll be happy with the shoulders.
I gotta say, the joining in CGB matches never has to do with multiple people joining at once for me.
It's often in completely empty lobbies and even after minutes they don't fill up even 50%
Edit: also i hope, in regards to the HCS kits, that they'll be purchasable again at some point. I need a few of those kits still

Well that's a bunch of good news. I'm glad they're looking into an overhaul of the networking, because desync seems baked pretty deeply into the status quo.
Cross-core shoulders? Great.
Upgrading more coatings to cross-core? Fairly expected, but good to see confirmed. The campaign ones would be good choices - the beat up shiny red one would probably make a dope EOD eaglestrike, for one. Personally, I'm also hoping for ashen victory, iron blood, platinum anniversary, and expressive soul - that would just about round out the tier of legacy colors that I'd conceivably use.
HCS coatings being in line for the upgrades and being jail-breaked out of status as locked to kits ... cool, but I haven't bought any. And the wording still seems pretty FOMO, in the "when it makes its way to people who picked them up". If they're investing the work in upgrading them, I'd think they'd want to float them for sale again, no? Like, that should be a no-brainer - being kit-locked was the reason I passed on the C9 season 1 black and cyan. And I'd pick up the 2022 championship bundle if it was ever floated again, even at higher cross-core prices .... I just figured the game was too close to dead to spend on, at that point last year before the turnaround.

I still think that we should customize the core itself, so that if a part is incompatible with an attachment we could just switch the core part with the one the attachment is compatible with.
this would also mean that armor core parts could be used in events, battle passes, and store items meaning this would also benefit 343 in the long term
They should put all focus into their network. The desync is still a massive issue for me. Its weird tho cuz i can play solo and my shots feel sticky, get many perfects, can tell when im being shot and when i should take cover and mostly do very well on low or high ping. Soon as i party with friends ( mostly live far away) suddenly i can never hit last shot, cant tell when im being hit till im about dead making it feel like im dying in 2-3 hits, get shot around corners & melee hits miss. and always negative. It feels like im playing a fraction of a second behind what the server is showing or something. It just feels off. I even leave grp just to play solo to see and instantly back to feeling smooth. The weird thing is both ways, wether feeling off or smooth im getting 55-60% accuracy.
I hope they also look towards the ultimate rewards coatings being crosscore, since I've got a few of those just locked on their respective core since 2021, similar to the ones from campaign
Atleast 343 is trying to clean up their mess and own up to it. At this point they are family and they want to make the fans happy at this point. I can understand the frustration with shoulder pads and Armor cross cores in general. From the players view we all think it's just a simple visual fix when in reality it's a spaghetti coder's nightmare. The actual thought that 343 wants to appeal to the fan base and add more additional fun stuff makes me want to play this game a lot more. I stopped playing when I was overseas and it just seemed like a cash grab for Shiney armor but almost a year later I just witnessed the MARK V armor coming into the game was sick af and now they have cross core armor?! Awe man brings me to the Reach Days of Badass Armor combos. I'm glad they are being adults about this and wanting to expand the lifespan of this game. Sometimes it's not what we want at first but I guess if you stick around long enough to be the squeaky wheel you will get the oil.

There are not actually any cross core armor coatings. None. On a technical level, the game still thinks that each coating for each core is a different item. This isn't the case for visors and helmets. I wish we knew more about why this is so hard for them to fix.

Then that's a cross core coating
If they stop at shoulders then they are stopping before the finish line. Chest pieces are some of the worst offenders for the cross core argument and need to be addressed. Also, I don't understand why things like wrist and hip attachments would really be an issue as they have minimal impact on their interaction with a core. I really hope that they stay committed and that the community holds them to it.
I’ll be pissed if I can’t put Doisac Kiss on my Mk7. Moreso than the chest pieces
The easiest thing you could do is limit the game matches to 24. Setting them to 28 causes most of these problems. Not only that, the game still forces you to play 12 vs 12 even if you set it at 28
I am so close to being able to make my boy Cameron-B364, all I need is a highly advanced independent color chooser (which is likely never) and multiple chest attachments 🙏

Hope they revert the shop price changes as it makes no sense to revert a good change to one that wasn’t liked by anyone. We praised 343 for season 4s prices and then they revert it to season 1

I'd much rather have more customization options than less, even if it means running into a few weird Spartans in multiplayer every now and then.

You know what would be great? An icon next to each piece/color/weapon model denoting cannon/non-cannon.

I mean I figured out through my own testing that pretty much all helmets can equip the coating.. so, idk.
