I'm English, I live in England, UK.
I recall reading report John Coltrane, death at that time ( 1967 )
In English, national newspaper ( Daily Mail )
I became aware in late 1950s what a marvellous
      Tenor Saxophone/ musician, John, was,
listening to Miles Davis, Albums: Milestones + Kind of Blue.
      Anyway, Peace to all !!

The year I was born, BTW. Nice touch adding space travelers Vladimir Komarov (of Soyuz 1) and Grissom, White and Chaffee (of Apollo 1). Their contributions in life paved the way into space for a long, continuous bevy of their successors.

Now that everyone is an actor, Spencer Tracy was not the first to win consecutive Oscars. He won his Oscars in 1937 and 1938, but Luise Rainer won hers in 1936 and 1937.
Roger B. Chaffee was 40 when he died, not 31.
