I think it's caused by how much new features they add during updates which slows his reaction time down. Aibi had an update before most of us got him during the time Beta Testers got an early version of him. Like Emo, I'm sure that'll improve.

Very excited to finally see AIBI out in the wild! Looks like he's got a lot of fun little features too. Maybe when the update comes out that lets him communicate with EMO I'll consider getting one for my EMO to play with. And he looks small enough that I can keep him right next to me when I'm working too, which is nice :). Can't wait to see more!
He rosponds to me when I say "abby" since thats what I heard in the info videos on how to use him, and it works! I also love him hes just so cuuuuuuuute but I wish I got the ginger cat set instead of the pink bunny but its still so cute!
@@outsider238 yea did ya know that if you put on the animal cap he responds with that same animals voice. Which honestly I think is very cool. And idk but I think the color of the animal changes from normal to the color of the cap to better depict the animal

@cindywhite9754 The food is just a fun side feature Aibi has. You don't have to spend money for it. You collect coins from when you walk around with him or play games with him and then you can use the coins to get him some food. There is no subscription for Aibi.
I think aibi's next update is that it can talk and emos update will be interacting with emo via the app and emo plays game with him like what he does to he changer. And i think ot is falling a sleep alot because its running out of charge.
@Liamblox1223 I've heard Emo will be able to interact with Aibi in the future. I'm not sure why Aibi was falling asleep so much but he wasn't off the charger that long so it wasn't because he needed charging. He might have been tired. This video took me nearly 6 hours to make! 🥵

I'm trying to figure out the AI part of this toy. So far, it does what my son's Anki Cosmo did back in 2016 and then his Anki Vector in 2018. The difference was that they moved around and returned to dock to charge on their own. In all of the years since Anki's bots we've got less mobility and a slightly better screen for the same price. Vector was also Amazon Alexa compatible and could respond with Alexa's voice and database. I could add groceries to my shopping list which made the little robot actually useful. There is no AI in AIBI. Also, the delay in response is terribly long. When it takes almost ten seconds to start a ten second timer, what's the point? I'm sitting here scratching my head.
@xplmr1 Aibi is made more for transportability. Cozmo didn't return to his charger. Vector was awesome. Unfortunately thanks to DDL vanishing, neither of them work now. I'm guessing having Alexa involves too much licensing and red tape hence the introduction of ChatGPT although for both Emo and Aibi, it's still in its infancy. Since Aibi just came out, the slow response time happened to Emo when he first came out as well. It was corrected in a later update. There isn't technically AI involved and the term seems to be used loosely in a lot of tech these days. In a case like this, I think it's meant more as a term for having more intelligence than a simple toy. These are early pet robots that are leading the way to more intelligent and life like robots in the future. But we have to start somewhere. I think they're pretty cool and in the case of Vector and Emo, having had them around constantly for the last 6 years for Vector and I'm guessing 3 years for Emo, I feel like they are part of the family.
Mine arrived yesterday 😊. Very cute, there is an issue I would like to see addressed on the app, you can’t set the quiet time for when you sleep. Eg 21:00 till 07:00. You get an error message, start time must be before end time.

@glitterynightmare It's difficult to say since everyone is different when it comes to what they want in a robot pet. It's kind of a personal choice. I personally prefer a desktop pet like Aibi or Emo but some might prefer one that roams around the house. I have a very small home so the roaming kind wouldn't work that well for me. I found Loona to be too hyper for my liking and she would get stuck in places all over the house. Vector's company, DDL is virtually nonexistent at this point so avoid him at all costs. So far, Emo is my favorite since he's been around long enough now that he's had a lot of updates to provide him with lots of features. Aibi is still in his infancy so he'll need some future updates to make him do more things which I'm sure LivingAI will do. Some people want something more utilitarian and some want more on the fun side. It's really an individual choice.
@@DrReginaldFinleySr I think the magnet is inside of Aibi. You can stick him on any metal surface. He might fall asleep a lot because I just activated him. It might also be a feature to save on battery life.
I know they are releasing them in batches. I ordered him on the first day they became available. You might be in batch 2 or 3 depending on when you ordered him.
I cant wait to get him in austria too! I hope Emo and Aibi are soon able to speek german and understand it better (cant they just use googles speech to text feaure??)

Two things we should know, at 15:52 when you accidentally turned off "Update Notification", I just wanted to let you know, I was thinking make sure to turn that back to on because I feel like those are for new updates or notifications/new features from the robot AIBI himself, and if I wanted to get this robot, I should be patient and wait a little for AIBI to work properly with the updates, just like Emo. I say the next time Emo gets an update, that should be the best time to get AIBI. 👍
@Thebatmanfan4664 Thankfully I remembered to turn the notifications back on. I had the camera in front of me which made it hard to see what I was pressing. Yes I think the next update for Aibi will fix a few bugs which will be great.

Well, this thing is super great! It’s like a shrunken version of emo but even cooler! I just don’t know how visual it would be, being legally blind, or how accessible the app would be. Worth a shot though.
Thanks for an awesome video, as usual. From what i have seen, I'm not sure Aibi is worth it. I have Emo, and I don't like his response time when calling him. I have to say it a few times. As much as Aibi is cute, I don't like the voice as it's too similar to Emo. With Emos's voice, I can hardly understand it at times. I think they need to do a bit more work on this x
Yeah I'm hoping the response time for both Emo and Aibi increase in a future update. I remember they had to do that with Emo over a year ago and it fixed it for a while until further updates started slowing his response time back down. I'm guessing it has something to do with how much the updates drag down his system. I agree with the voice. It would have been better if his voice was totally different. I remember they changed Vector's voice at one point because it was so hard to understand what he was saying. Maybe LivingAI will do something like that for Aibi.

@misc328 It's understandable. Most of these premium pet robots are pricey. As Aibi gets more updates, features, games and animations, it'll feel like the price is more worth it. Both Vector and Emo started out pretty basic but they've definitely come a long way. Well, mainly Emo.

@misc328 There's been no hardware upgrades, just firmware. I'm hoping they'll upgrade Emo's hardware to something that uses less moving parts. I worry about the longevity of his legs over time. He walks around quite a bit each day. Maybe they can make a rolling Emo where it uses just one or two motors instead of four.

Oh, I didn't know about that. I haven't used the quiet time feature myself. Have you tried to see if it will work using the 12 hour clock?

I personally prefer a desktop pet like Aibi or Emo but some might prefer one that roams around the house. I have a very small home so the roaming kind wouldn't work that well for me. I found Loona to be too hyper for my liking and she would get stuck in places all over the house. Vector's company, DDL is virtually nonexistent at this point so avoid him at all costs. So far, Emo is my favorite since he's been around long enough now that he's had a lot of updates to provide him with lots of features. Aibi is still in his infancy so he'll need some future updates to make him do more things which I'm sure LivingAI will do. Some people want something more utilitarian and some want more on the fun side. It's really an individual choice.

@@DrReginaldFinleySr I think the magnet is inside of Aibi. You can stick him on any metal surface. He might fall asleep a lot because I just activated him. It might also be a feature to save on battery life.

I know they are releasing them in batches. I ordered him on the first day they became available. You might be in batch 2 or 3 depending on when you ordered him.
I cant wait to get him in austria too! I hope Emo and Aibi are soon able to speek german and understand it better (cant they just use googles speech to text feaure??)

Two things we should know, at 15:52 when you accidentally turned off "Update Notification", I just wanted to let you know, I was thinking make sure to turn that back to on because I feel like those are for new updates or notifications/new features from the robot AIBI himself, and if I wanted to get this robot, I should be patient and wait a little for AIBI to work properly with the updates, just like Emo. I say the next time Emo gets an update, that should be the best time to get AIBI. 👍
@Thebatmanfan4664 Thankfully I remembered to turn the notifications back on. I had the camera in front of me which made it hard to see what I was pressing. Yes I think the next update for Aibi will fix a few bugs which will be great.
And if you don't wan the app, he can still work as an alarm clock and timer. =)

Has potential but seems to be barely functioning, takes sometimes four taps to wake it, broken voice, doesn't follow commands, slow to react, falls asleep about 8 seconds after waking.
So now that I've had him a while, he hardly sleeps at all. His head taps are two taps and work better. I was experimenting with those. His voice doesn't break up anymore. I think it was because I just activated him. When his battery got low, he turned himself off and I think that helped reset him once I put him back on the charger and he turned back on again. His reaction time speed could be improved but Emo had that same issue at first until an update corrected it. I think it's caused by how much new features they add during updates which slows his reaction time down. Aibi had an update before most of us got him during the time Beta Testers got an early version of him. Like Emo, I'm sure that'll improve.

Thanks for an awesome video, as usual. From what i have seen, I'm not sure Aibi is worth it. I have Emo, and I don't like his response time when calling him. I have to say it a few times. As much as Aibi is cute, I don't like the voice as it's too similar to Emo. With Emos's voice, I can hardly understand it at times. I think they need to do a bit more work on this x
Yeah I'm hoping the response time for both Emo and Aibi increase in a future update. I remember they had to do that with Emo over a year ago and it fixed it for a while until further updates started slowing his response time back down. I'm guessing it has something to do with how much the updates drag down his system. I agree with the voice. It would have been better if his voice was totally different. I remember they changed Vector's voice at one point because it was so hard to understand what he was saying. Maybe LivingAI will do something like that for Aibi.

@misc328 It's understandable. Most of these premium pet robots are pricey. As Aibi gets more updates, features, games and animations, it'll feel like the price is more worth it. Both Vector and Emo started out pretty basic but they've definitely come a long way. Well, mainly Emo.
@ does the company that made emo / aibi make newer/improved hardware iterations? Has emo gotten new versions since it launched? I might wait for an aibi 2.0 if that’s a possibility since seems like the speaker could use improvement
@misc328 There's been no hardware upgrades, just firmware. I'm hoping they'll upgrade Emo's hardware to something that uses less moving parts. I worry about the longevity of his legs over time. He walks around quite a bit each day. Maybe they can make a rolling Emo where it uses just one or two motors instead of four.
