Never played the game. Never even seen the trailers for the game (cause all of them had voice acting I believe). Probably just saw the posters for it, and on the switch ads.
Metaphorically speaking there wasn't any voice acting. That takes consistent talent and direction, they had elements of both at times, but they never could put it all together
People who think anything but realistic graphics are bad really annoy me... Realistic graphics wouldn't fit either the target demographic or game play , just like how pokemon wouldn't work if the designs were realistic and they actually ripped each other to shreds.
I agree! oh also realistic graphics are really good to look at at the time of the games release, but after about 4-5 years people will came back to the game and most of the time would say "ugh look at this game" for example gta iv. While "childish" or "art-style" graphic usually last longer like wind waker. (:
I give this video a 0/10 , there is not variety in reviews and video quality was so bad , there was no story behind this video and anormal ads. Don’t take this seriously
der nu robbi rotton in gam. he populur cus maro said he like robie and he from Metroid which da seres da botw ih in dey jus use Zelda n link n ganon n bettle and EVERYONE THAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE N THE GAME
they're right though. nintendo are the cheapest and laziest in that regard. rehashing the same games and characters for over 3 decades gets old. try to take your BS bias goggles off and think rationally next time. mechanically speaking, nintendo are the best though.
Every one of their "Rehashes" are different though. MM had masks, Wind Waker had too many to name, TP had wolf link, Skyward sword had the giant birds and islands in the sky. Of course that's not even all of the changes. Actually as far as Zelda is concerned They're all different characters. All the links are different (Mind a few sequels OOt/MM, Zelda 1/2) and all the Zeldas are too with different personalities. The only character that's really the same is Ganon and even HE was different in some games. Heck he wasn't even IN all the games. Mario, yeah always the same guys. But even Mario changes mechanics around.
Saying the graphics are bad is a stupid criticism since the game follows a art style instead of being life like this helps make the game timeless since the graphics won't age badly or become outdated Windwaker has aged really well and looks newer than Twilight Princess even though twilight princess is the newer game this is because of Windwakers art style
The graphics DO look more realistic than in tww and that's why ie an one-shade-only stone texture looks kinda weird and washed out. I do agree with that the graphics are not perfect, most of the areas look better from far away and when u get close it looks like the texture is just overstretched sometimes.
Bloodborne Survivor very good point, wind waker and botw both share a very similar style with cartoonish characters Which will make them never look old. The characters pop out from the more heavily detailed graphics of the world around you
Cortez Pierson It is, it's absolutely pathetic. And all of those sad and pathetic people need to watch a video called Graphics vs. Aesthetics. Because they might actually learn something. Then again that video uses some big words so It might just go over their head.
I find the Artistic style beautiful myself, plus the attention they put into its environments pays off wonderfully, the way the grass moves in the wind, the way Lightning strikes metalic objects in a storm, It more than makes up for its supposed "Bag graphics".
right if people hated cell shading ww wouldn't be popular botw just looks like some alpha game, the game looks washed out and the textures as blurry as fuck
On the Amazon page for the game, there is some soccer mom getting all triggered that the game is "demonic and satanic" because it involves spirits. It's hillarious.
I had to play for 50 hours to beat first time... playing again and only have played for for 5 hours and just got to karuko village for memories. This guy that played for 8 hours must have just gone straight to gannon or something like that
I have a friend who actually thinks like this. He played for 5 hours, and then left the game for horizon: zero dawn, because zelda were too easy in his opinion and nothing to do. Maybe some people don't get, that the great plateau is some kind of tutorial, and the whole game doesn't force you to go a strict path.
"Literally nothing to do". Have you PLAYED the game? Have you cooked food? Hunted prey? Killed enemies? Found secrets? Climbed mountains? Uncovered treasure? Solved shrines? Cause there is a LOT to do.
Right? I sit down to play and I'm all, Ok, Here's what I'm going to do. I'm going to go to X and hopefully find Y there. Ready? Go! On the way there, OOH, what's that?!? Cool, now I have enough to to this thing...but first I need to do this other thing...5 hours later: Wait, didn't I have something I set out to do initially? Crap...got to go to bed, I'll do that tomorrow.
i just finished the first big dungeon and boss fight (playing since launch date, also no spoilers lol) because i got distracted from the main quest and went off to climb every tower i saw in the distance or every shrine and small town or just cooked food for hours on end. this game definatly has been distracting me from the main story in a good way
Why does every asshole want realistic graphics? Wouldn't you want a game to look like a game? The art style in this game is beautiful and feels smooth.
I think it’s a matter of preference. Personally I prefer realistic graphics, but I still think this is a great game. Generally speaking, I think realistic graphics tend to appeal better to the older gaming crowd. When I play Breath of the Wild I find myself thinking damn what if this game had graphics similar to Skyrim? For example. That would be great IMO
Gurosama Bltch only thing I don’t like is the rock and cliff textures kinda suck and water could use more animations to it, it’s sadly static, no ripples or visible currents or little waves and such
I mean, it's not next gen. The game looks pretty at times, but so does Resident evil on the ps2. Overrall the graphics aren't bad but a little outdated.
"The game always holds your hand" no, the game reaches out to you, but when you reach for it, it slaps your hand and throws you in to die. Holy shit I love it.
I actually love the graphics style BOTW has. And I'd go far as to say that if most games had photo realistic graphics then it would take away from the creativity heavily, and would be very boring to look at.
To make a better point, which art work is better? portraits, or starry night, the scream and mona lisa? Plus Nintendo is, at the most part, the platform of creativity. And people complaining that the game doesn't have crazy fps is ridiculous. Its a portable console, it's not gonna have crazy stats. Its come a HELL of a lot far from the ds and 3ds. Pokemon sun and moon look very pixelated and I see nobody complaining about that. The switch does have its mistakes, and ik they will fix them (what company wouldn't?) And nintendo has made bad games in the past, but this is far from one of them.
The Extra Credits video on Aesthetics vs Graphics and IIRC the Errant Signal video on Photorealism is something more gamers should watch tbh. Personally I love that they went Ghibli Zelda with this one.
Undim. I love the graphics style, but I'd have to disagree about realistic graphic being boring. When I was in the process of beating Unchanged 4, I was constantly stopping and looking at the landscape. It looked so amazingly real, it was hard to believe sometimes.
I mean my cousin spent over 500 hours on it… decides to let me play a new game he started IMMEDIATELY gets an armor piece (forgot the name, it keeps you warm early game) and a side quest he missed
I've been playing Zelda since i was 5 years old, first game i picked up? Ocarina of time, my dad had it, bought it when it came out in 1998 and when i was old enough to figure out what it was, he walked me through playing it, sure he had to beat Bongo for me literally every time i got up to it but the rest of it? i'd work out myself. Yes... even the water temple (i now have the Water Medallion tattooed onto my skin). I've never had a Zelda game that i couldn't complete within a week Ocarina of time? i can do in a day. Twilight princess? give me a weekend Skyward sword? i'd completed that game two days after i got it, on an early release cause i pre-ordered it (technically i beat it a day after it was released to the public, side quests and goddess cubes all completed) Majora's mask took me a bit longer, that took me half a week right there but that game was FUCKED UP yo. Wind Waker? Give me a weekend. etc etc... seriously it's never been longer than a week. This? Breath of the wild? Three weeks in? I'm still playing it. Yes i've completed the main storyline (took me just OVER a week) Ganon can go suck a great big bag of dicks in the afterlife but... i'm still finding new stuff everywhere I go! I CLIMBED DEATH MOUNTAIN FROM THE GROUND UP TODAY! No winding path round it, straight up a cliff face just cause I could. I found the ruins of Lon Lon Ranch today surrounded by guardians and monsters on horse back and GOD did it hurt to see it like that (i killed THEM ALL because HOW DARE THEY STAND WHERE IT STOOD). The weapons system is great, it is, and while i do wish they'd have used some of the oldie but goodie weapons as 'fixable' weapons scattered around it's nice to see the games EVOLVING in ways we wouldn't have expected them to with the use of consumable weaponry because it gives you a sense of SURVIVAL, Link is on his own, unlike other games he doesn't even have a companion to help him, he's 100 years out of his time, he has no memories no friends no NOTHING in this world... his sole purpose is to survive, find a way no matter what and save what's left of Hyrule, there's no big ass tree at the beginning telling you what you are, you LEARN what you are, WHO you are through scattered memories and exploration. There's no hand holding in this game, the most you get is "go find three shrines and i'll give you this paraglider so you can get off this big ass rock" that's IT. Do i wish there were more big dungeons like the other games? a two part storyline like Ocarina of time with it's first three then mini dungeons and then later temples, or Twilight princess with its twilight relic pieces and mirror shards, or hell even wind waker with it's three pearls two activation songs and that whole searching the ocean for triforce shards Maybe, but god i'm more than happy to just climb a damn mountain and get a damn good look at this beautiful world like never before. i'd legit pay for DLC that gives you the ability to explore hyrule before everything went to shit though someone gimmie that.
I found the water temple as my favorite temple in the game (OoT). It was a unique concept and I don't see what the complaint is about, it was generally fun for me with the design. My only flaw with it was the room with six tektites that always seemed to scare me whenever I tried to pass ;-;
I kind of want a great sea DLC. At least some kind of expansion on the boats mechanic. I thought there was going to be some kind of archipelago in the south east of the map. I hoped for a boss battle of the boat.
I thought OOT came out in 1998 I must be off 😯 it was also my first game and can also complete it quickly as well. I love exploring BOTW I feel like I shouldn't rush in it. I love the atmosphere
I'll give a real critical review. The voice acting is pretty meh, voice acted scenes does somewhat pull me out of the immersion because of this. Rewards for Side-Quests are pretty much useless, a few rupees or a bad meal, wish there were better rewards for completing these quests. The story overall isn't that good, but zelda games have never had amazing stories to begin with. And the characters are generic and easily forgettable. It does suffer from framerate drops at certain times, but this is very rarely and only happens for a second or two so no big deal. The open world does feel a little empty after a time. Only thing to find is a korok seed puzzle you've seen 5 times allready, a wandering merchant that sell stuff you don't need, tressure chests with a weapon you don't have inventory for, and an enemy base with the same 3 enemies every other base has. Shrines get repetitive, after the first 20 you've kinda seen them all. Oh and nothing is more infuriating then rain as you are trying to reach a mountain top. All that said, this is my favorite game of the year. Why? I can't rightly say, just wandering around, discovering new ways of doing things. Getting sweet one shot revenge on those guardians that terrified me at the beginning. finally running head strong into battle with the lynels. Or seeing my horse kick an ugly little bokoblin across the field. Its easy to get lost in this empty world. And hey if zelda has been fighting this guy for a hundred years, she can wait a few weeks while I collect seeds for a big rootdude. 8/10
Bravo. This is a review I can respect especially since you provided claims backed up by evidence. Even though I disagree with things, I am aware of the flaws. Some flaws may be seen as pluses for people and vice versa. Example being the shrines: I saw them all as mini dungeons similar to the dungeons of Zelda's past and I was fine with the large amount of them scattered throughout Hyrule. The spirit orbs rewarded even acted as your usual Zelda heart pieces, with 4 of them equaling a heart container or stamina vessel. People complained about only for main quest dungeons. Me: Yes they were fun and creative and very enjoyable, but a flaw for me was that they were pretty short. Besides even though its only 4 dungeons, the game itself is still complete to keep you occupied with other things. I see the few main dungeons as similar to Zelda: Majoras Mask. Breath of the Wild is still my game of the year as well and deserves the 10 despite its flaws. 10/10 doesn't necessarily mean a perfect game because there is no such thing. This reminded me of Zelda 1 except in the modern day open world setting. There was barely any handholding and linearity in Breath of the Wild and even the 8 bit technically open world Zelda 1 of the 1980s which I truly loved for discovery and exploration.
I mean I respect this review, but how *dare* you say the Zelda stories aren't very good!? I think twilight princess's story was absolutely astounding. and skyward sword's story was amazing as well. OoT's story was meh, but MM had a very deep and heart wrenching story. WW was all about adventure and had an awesome, light feeling to it. I cannot believe u think the Zelda storytelling, (something which Nintendo made an entire *BOOK* over) is low tier. Edit: Okay I over reacted a bit. and this was a relatable and good review, but why do u think the Zelda storytelling is bad? Please share why u think this, as I may change my mind on the matter and love to see other people's perspectives
"the characters are recycled old Zelda characters". This person is an unrecognised genius. How could a game with reincarnation as a prevalent theme recycle characters? HOW COULD YOU NINTENDO!?!?!?!??!
They're probably just 8 year olds that can't afford the game and play Call of Duty and are the toxic types of players, that game is recycled over and over again
They're part of the same universe... its like saying the demons in Doom are recycled from older dooms or that headcrabs and zombies are recycled into Half-life 2, I mean they belong there... It'd be more foolish if they magically stopped existing lmao
GD Lumen not totally true but yeah graphics arent be all but power is important at times and in this case better hardware make the game is even bettr experience
Funny thing about video game graphics. No matter what you do they're very difficult to have hold up year after year. Nintendo has a lot of experience in this area though, and with this style botw will definitely hold up well over time.
the graphics need to be strong enough to serve the ascetics of the game. a more serious army game should had high end graphics but putting Mario in that same setting would just be bad
Did that guy who played for 8 hours not get off the great plateau? That sounds like a review for someone who didn't get off the great plateau but I just can't imagine that someone could spend 8 hours there. Edit: yes you definitely can spend 8 hours there but if you're playing the game and think it's holding your hand too much wouldn't you wanna get to the point where you can explore the rest of the world? I probably should have said that I can't imagine that guy willingly spending 8 hours there.
You would have to spend all that time just exploring everything, and if they really did that, they would have found some pretty cool secrets and gave it a better review
Tha's not the real question, the real questions are: Is he telling the truth? did he actually played the game? And Why metacritic have this "users reviews" function if it doesn't works?
I had a friend that said pokemon was shit because he did not know what to do, he fricken forgot he had to deliver back oak's parcel back to pallet town. If you call that difficult no wonder he only enjoys First person shooters.
*Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild* Review By ):!/8;?35?,):$/():&:?/6 -2 out of 10 Bret of wyllld is stooobed. Grafiks r bad and no story. Game only take 3 and a half minuts of gayme 2 beet. Veryy esy and not good]]]]]][[[ Graphics: 10/10 Story: 10/10 Weapon Menu: 9/10 Overall Game: 4/10
I actually spent a good hour on the plateau finishing stuff because I kept falling into the cold water trying to cross the river like a stubborn psycho...needless to say I succeeded once I got that dang metal plate to stay still. Really the only legitimately frustrating thing I found in the game is how wonky the physics engine feels at times. It never changes or anything but when its not doing what you want it to you start to want to punch things.
I've only made it to Kakariko Village, so far, but from my time exploring the Great Plateau, I can say the graphics are amazing, and the frame rate does occasionally drop in areas with a ton of grass. As soon as the game came out I spoiled the story for myself, so I can already say that was great. The open world is HUGE with a ton of stuff to explore. The people writing these reviews must have barely even touched the game.
The graphics are great, but the pop in is a little meh, the scope is useless for scouting out enemies because they don't pop in. Thats the only annoying thing about the game so far.
The Ace Attorney the scout is great. I use it to see shrines, towers, and if I want to see a better version of something in the distance. I didn't know what Vah medoh was, and the scope was my friend when I didn't know where to go.
ScottieonfireGame Technically MM had five but that's only counting the four kids at the end of the game as one dungeon and Majora being the boss. just my opinion.
+Everything yea I guess they don't take the final dungeon into account, just like the Hyrule Castle in Breath of the wild which basically is the 5th dungeon.
I think its more about the quality of those dungeons then the number. Dungeons were dangerous, themed dungeons that had a different vibe. They included unique items, new enemies, new tactics to use and cool bosses. I think the new Zelda kinda lost that to be honest.
Some of the later shrines take quite a bit of time to figure out, one shrine needed you to use one of the chests inside to complete an electrical circuit.
Shadowstriker I’m not even that good at video games but I’ve familiarized myself enough with the controls and pay attention to the text from NPC’s to make progress.
Not a game reviewer (not professionally anyway, but neither were they) but I am good and I did pay attention. I payed attention through 500 hours across four playthroughs. The game is not 10/10 material. But I’m the kind of person who doesn’t believe in perfect 10/10 reviews. At the very most, it’s worth 7/10, but my personal rating is 3/10 for reasons far too length to type out here. I’m happy to link a few comments I’ve posted on Reddit if you’d like something more in depth.
Still salty the stables wouldn't let me register my stag. Totally wanted to pull a Mononoke Hime, since they went to so much trouble of making it look nearly the same.
Everything In the World I think this thread is referring to the art style and not the graphics, the haters are most probably referring to the render distance, resolution, etc. But I gotta agree, the art style looks amazing, can't wait to get my hands on a Switch and BotW
Literally all the comments on youtube (or other) are angry haters who don't actually own the console, or game but feel the need to make a review/statement about it.
Horizon did remind me a lot of Breath of the Wild. Because you know killer corrupted robots well Borderlands 1 also had this but in recent times Horizon is the most compared.
Because by todays standards they're total dogshit. Stuff doesn't have to look realistic to be good but c'mon, there are so many examples of similar styles being done infinitely better.
The only 2 problems that I found with the game is the fps drop which isn't a good thing but nothing game braking since I'm sorta okay with 20 fps But the problem is the low resolution, It's just annoying when you notice a square pixel right in the immersion of the game, It's better then Skyward sword in that aspect but still there which I kinda find odd that they can't seem to want higher resolution.
problems for me= fps drop like once every 2 days and I cant figure out how to get through the yiga clan hide out. that's it. that's pretty much 10/10 or 9.9999999999999999999999999999/10
Explode0matic, you have to sneak around the people and drop bananas in random places to distract the guards. Then you have to defeat... well... I won't spoil it.
Lucas464748 I know a dumbass is going to find your comment and say "Dumbass zelda is the girl!" People like that make me lose hope in humanity a little more than I already have.
"4k is the future" is like saying that VR will be the only gaming platform. Nintendo has proved that 1080p even 720p is enough to make a absolute masterpiece
I mean. Nintendo makes good games. Odyssey looks fantastic. BOTW looks pretty good, though Odyssey looks better. That's about the only thing I like about them, from their UA-cam policies (That are probably gone now) To how they treat people who use their assets. To what they did in the 80/90's, and their "Quality check". as much as I'd love to play Nintendo games I just don't think I ever would want to support the bloody company. As for how I came to this. Fucking youtube and it's random ass videos popping up.
The best ones were the people who complained about BOTH graphics and frame rate. If you have amazing, super HD graphics it'll have bad frame rate. If you want the game to run seamlessly don't be surprised when the lighting quality, textures, and models look like stick figures. I like that Nintendo chose to balance out these features by making the graphic pretty good and the frame rate moderate. Plus the lighting and physics engine this game runs is amazing.
To be honest this game does get a 0/10. It is far too amazingly brilliant!! So much so that I am struggling to finish my psychology assignments, my wife is now a Zelda widow, I'm forgetting that you have to eat to survive and i'm constantly filled with dread that at some point the game has to come to an end. Damn you Nintendo how could you do this to me?!!!
About BR, this is a way we brazilians refer to Brazil, and Lampião is a historical character here, so lampiaobr is brazilian for sure. I suppose he was complaining that the game does not have a brazilian portuguese translation.
"Hey Impa, do you know any place similar to this photo?" "I don't know." *randomly talks to a NPC* "Hey check out my album?" *gives very vague directions*
Benjamin Bourdeau that guy clearly took 8 hours to clear the tutorial phase of the Great Plateau, in which the only hand holding is telling you how the controls work. The first thing you do is walk out of a cave and wander around. You battle enemies that you've never seen with a fucking tree branch.
This game is awful! Tiny open world, ear busting music, 5FPS*, terrible story, and way too easy! There's no DLC for it, and it costs 6,000 dollars. 0/1,0000000000000000000000000000000. *5 first person shooters
What I find interesting about the guy arguing that the lack of voice acting ruins immersion is that often the most immersive experiences can be found in books. Because it's actually quite immersive to think of voices to fit a certain character. A good example of bad immersive voice acting would be every Bethesda open world game, where they re-use the same 5-10 voices they recorded for over hundreds of characters.
Thomas Blay agree 100 percent. I love text boxes over voice acting in games. so much more immersion. but I think we are in a very small minority sadly. I feel like it has to do with the fact that barely anyone reads books anymore.
Oh man, yeah having the centuries old evil ghost queen sound the same as the friendly blacksmith you're probably going to be doing most of your trading with early on didn't exactly help maintain the illusion.
Bethesda have gotten better with the voice acting thing in recent years in fallout 4 beyond generic npcs that don't have anything to say and robots most of the voices are different. In skyrim a lot of characters shared a voice actor but it was more varied than oblivion where all elves shared a voice Khajit and argonians shared one, nords and orcs shared one The Bretons imperials and red guard had separate actors but the entire race had the same voice except for a few exceptions
I agree. I do miss the music. As i am very fond of kickass video game music. but I like how the lack of music provides an almost calm and tranquil experience
I think it's just an excuse not to make music. Witcher 3 used overworld music to amazing effect, the starting area's theme gave the game an amazing atmosphere from the start
"maybe young children will like it" - "oversimplified quests and puzzles" - "the game holds your hand" I'm pretty sure most of these 1/10 and 0/10 reviews never actually played the game, but... that last one is just sad. This is easily the most challenging Zelda since... well.. the NES games and it being as open world as it is makes it entirely unsuited for small children. (spoilers below) The puzzles vary from simple over tricky to downright brilliant, especially when the game doesn't tell you anymore which item to use, it gets very interesting in those shrines. I'm pretty sure I did a good bunch of them not how I was supposed to clear them. The 4 dungeons are works of art, I was super impressed when I entered my first one. Instead of clearing the small puzzles in seperate rooms, the entire dungeon is one big puzzle that you manipulate. It's freaking awesome. And Hand holding? Really? A game that gives you all the tools you need in the tutorial area and straight up tells you "beat Ganon" right from the start - and even gives you the possibility to try, but also the choice to run loose out in the wild and do what the heck you want, is supposed to have too much hand holding. That's so wrong, it's not even funny anymore.
kennikitty ALttP was more difficult too imo. Also, the dungeons are not 'works of art'. They are extremely simple and strange but not in a a good way. I didn't hate them but they weren't great. Having said that, I still love the game
I think the game's difficulty depends entirely on how you play it. If you run towards any enemies you see right away, then chances are you'll die... A lot. However, if you avoid enemies that are obviously too powerful for you until later, it won't be that difficult of a journey. The difficulty definitely varies depending upon how somebody plays the game. That being said, the climb up to Ganon through Hyrule Castle is certainly tense and filled with Guardians and other powerful foes. I found it to be tougher than fighting Ganon himself. I am curious as to what they'll change for Hard Mode. If the only change is enemies receiving longer health bars, I'll be pissed that it's locked behind a paywall.
A Link to the Past is challenging, yes, mainly because it belongs to a more hardcore era of gaming. I personally love the dungeons, though they were more combat-based than puzzle-based. BotW beats all, no doubt.
All reviewed by Ganon's minions who were slain by Link. EDIT: Guys, please don't spoil stuff in the comments for me. I haven't played BotW yet and I don't want to see spoilers in my email notifications.
The silver lynels are so easy the hell? U just have to learn how to parry their strikes and flurry rush the hell out of them and they’ll be dead in 5 minutes.
Ah yes, the classic math equation. 8/10 + 9/10 + 9/10 + 2/10 = 3/10 Edit: I wonder if the nonsense happening in the reply chain is what got the comment hearted, or the actual comment.
I never played a zwlda game before this and I bought the switch as I thought it was cool and then I bought zwlda in a bundle with it and I loved the game! There was so much to do and it was so addictive! These review are 99% bullsh*t
@@atvdriver9779 I agree that people can have negative opinions on things that I love. However, a freaking 0/10! If that were the case than the the game would have absolutely no positive aspects. I would say that the game at least deserves a 6/10, even though I would personally give it a higher score.
@@atvdriver9779 I mean look at the “reviews” a lot of them say bad graphics and by bad graphics they mean not realistic graphics and a bunch of other dumb reasons
Jacob Vega The graphics are horrible by todays standards, 900p,no antialiasing and extremely low poly textures. GRAPHICS=/=ART STYLE The art style is good but saying this game's graphics are good is a downright lie.
Evidently awaiting this guy saying he played Skyward Sword HD and enjoyed that more than Breath of the Wild, since I'm seeing many people making these claims.
When you say that a game is 10 out of 10 you're saying you literally can't imagine a better game; any gripe you have with it is just a rounding error. That's about as awful as the 1/10 reviews.
Adnan Sadiq ok, that's a fair review, I'm ok with people not liking the game, but the reviews in this video, I guarantee most, if not all, of the people writing them had never played the game
It barely runs at 30fps, with frequent dips to 20 fps. That's shit performance. The fucking /PS3/ had both better resolution(full HD, aka 1080p) and many games ran at 60 FPS with infrequent dips. This includes games that look just as good as BotW like the HD remake of Shadow of the Colossus, dark souls 2 is merely full HD at 30fps, but it looks just as good. The nintendo switch runs BotW at 900p docked at 30 fps with very frequent dips to fucking /20/ FPS. It should /not/ be running this terribly.
Dude, I own a PS3, there were only 5% of games that ran at 60fps, and none of them ran consistently well except for Platinum's games. I don't know what you're talking about. The vast majority of PS3 games ran at a paltry 30fps and at 720p. Barely any actually ran at 1080p. Shadow of the Colossus also runs at 30fps, not 60, it's just more consistent in it's frame rate than the PS2 original, which ran at 15-20fps majority of the time.
I own a PS3 as well, thank you very much. I had been informed, and some things I looked up supported it, that the grip issues were due to the framerate being higher than the PS2 had, this was apparently wrong. Regardless, there were plenty of games for the PS3 that ran at 60: www.giantbomb.com/60-fps-on-consoles/3015-3223/games/ www.gamefaqs.com/boards/927750-playstation-3/69574012 And the Wii-U is running the game at 720p with.... framedrops to 20 from 30. Meanwhile in handheld mode the switch is locked at 30fps 720p. So the switch's hardware is, going by this game, about 72.5% faster when docked. Meaning they /really/ shouldn't have set it to 900p, rather they should have pused the framerate higher to avoid any stuttering and frame drops.
This is sad... This is the most amazing game I have ever played. You will also noticed how most of them were either the day of or after release. They didn't even give the game a chance!
I'm giving the game a chance now. I've owned it for a few months but been going through Fire Emblem Three Houses and Link's Awakening. I'm not enjoying it so far.
You have not played alot of games then have you? The game is not amazing, try Skyrim, a game that is alot older than this but still better in every way. Then Come back and we can talk.
@@plasttrasket3800 Dude calm down. It's maybe not good for you but gor them. I gor one hate Skyrim but don't try to force my opinion on you the way you do on them.
Recycled old Zelda characters? Wtf? Who the fuck did that person want? Mario? Samus? ( actually an open world metroid game would be pretty cool but thats not the point) Did they want Mario to show up and say "Hey, itsa Link, lets go beat-a Ganon and a Bowser" The "old characters" Are the ones in the series. So I dont know what that guy was expecting.
I have to say, I'm enjoying the game, but it's certainly disappointing compared to what the hype prepared me for. From an objective standpoint, it's probably a solid 8.5/10, but more subjectively it's a 7-7.5/10 for me. Still, I have NO IDEA how anyone could rate BOTW 0/10. That's insane. 0/10 is, like, Big Rigs or something.
"From an objective standpoint", are you shitting me? Only facts are objective. What factual information would rate this game an 8.5 similar to, say, a score from Consumer Reports for a dishwasher or an inkjet printer (which is something that can actually be subject to objective testing, unlike a video game)?
'Objective standpoint'. How the fuck can you objectively rate a game? Have you developed some sort of scientific method to calculate how good a game is?
flilix1 I agree that all reviews are inherently subjective to a degree, but like whether or not the game runs is a pretty objective thing to take into consideration. Saying that Superman 64 has broken controls and is impossible to complete because of it is an example of that. Good reviews take into account the authors own biases and preferences and spell them out where applicable while also touching upon things like frame rate, control set ups, and potential bugs
Uhhh. You finish the "story" of Pac-man after only a few levels, after that it's just harder and harder difficulty levels of the same story. If you see all the cutscenes, you've beaten Pac-man's story, you just didn't 100% complete it
What’s crazy about the reviews is that they are back wards. The biggest problem is lack of story and lack of linear gameplay and feeling of progression.
True. While it’s not my favorite game ever (that goes to 3D Land), I would say it’s the best game I’ve ever played. I would even say it’s within the 5 best games ever made.
What in the world?! I've spent many hours of Zelda and would give it a 9.5/10! It's not all about the graphics (you also have to remember the size and portability of the Switch), but its about the quality and quantity which Nintendo gave a lot of for this game.
The haters don't really have a reason to hate on this game. Actually, no one has a real reason to hate on anything, but u know, Some men just want to watch the world burn... in one way or another
They aren't yet. It is very appearant that they most likely will, as they've started making games for Nintendo consoles, and stopped making any of their own.
You didn't play the game long enough to get the shadow link costume "inspired from a creature formed from darkness"...actually you're right, Nintendo is racist
Here are my 3 biggest issues 1: The lack of traditional dungeons - There is a distinct lack of dungeons. I understand that there are a lot of shrines and the yes there are the same amount of dungeons as MM, but this is a lot different. This is a really good game and the runes are really creative and fun to use, but I want my traditional dungeons and also *g i v e m e m y g o o d b o s s e s* 2: Its truly a Zelda Game - Yes yes yes, I hear you screaming. I get it. But this is much less a Zelda game and moreso an open world puzzle game. There is so many great things that I love but a lot of them aren't truly "Zelda," if you get what I mean 3: Soundtrack - Hyrule Castle is absolutely fantastic. And so is the theme for the 5th Divine beast. But then there's the lack of over world music. Something small, but not just the occasional slap of a piano would be great. Give us different themes for the time of day, the area, weather, super cool stuff like that. I get that it's a lot of work, but this is the standard that the prior games set.
I have to agree. The game is great and looks gorgeous but it could still be improved quite a lot. I miss things like when exploring Hyrule just finding something like a little river and following it along to a waterfall which you can get behind to find Zora's Domain.. or just seeing a volcano in the far distance and thinking I wonder what's up there - then just going, not using any magic teleports or shrines and just exploring your way up to the mountain and finding the Gorons. The dungeons in Ocarina of Time were so great because finding and entering them felt kind of natural - the Gorons or Zoras would have problems they'd need your help with and you'd get into the dungeon by figuring out a way to open the entrance etc. When it's all shrines and magic doors and teleports and stuff it disconnects me from the world and makes it feel more like game mechanics and a bit repetitive. I also kind of miss a more traditional Link costume. It often feels like you're playing a very different character. I don't see what's so wrong with a green tunic, hat and carrying a sword and shield on his back rather than the character being covered in massive weird weapons and costumes that just make it feel like a totally different character etc. I'd rather just have the option to equip weapons as I like and not have a cumbersome and ridiculous array of giant things all over the character.
Slow, boring, repetitive, lack of variety of enemies, breakable weapons and cooking. I played the first 2 hours and I didn’t like it, I played for four hours more and I hated it. Maybe it’s a game for other audiences but not for me
I can just imagine that guy who completed the first 4 shrines and probably skipped the dialogue with the old man, just running around the small island for a few hours.
That's not as bad as one that I heard *WARNING* Partial spoilers below! One of the reviews I read said that when they played there was a glitch that caused Calamity Ganon to lose half his health at the beginning of the fight.
I loved this game and love that you can go just about anywhere and there might be a treasure chest , sleeping bad guys or those guardians. Ran into a hidden palace in some trench which just happen to be a den of death < lots of guardians > .
"Has recycled Zelda characters" *Nintendo*- Sorry I forgot Zelda's name was in the title, it's not like that means there will be old characters like...Zelda! We should have made the characters as diverse as Mario titles.
you dislike exactly what i dislike about mario. none of the characters have personality except for luigi and that's only because of the luigi's mansion games.
AppointedKnight It's not weak at all. It's just that the main story is just the point of the journey. There are so many other side stories and quests that lead to others. That's how these games work, if it were just one story it'd be less thsn a Zelda experience.
True the thing I really really did enjoy was all the backstory they have hidden away. They gave a legitimate reason for hyrule being the way it is. Like the ancient technology and the split between the yiga and sheikah and stuff like that. And while I do feel like they set it very far in the future to appeal to newcomers, I thought it was a cool way to kinda ditch the timeline and leave some room for imagination because honestly it could fit in any branch of the timeline.
AppointedKnight It has a fit in the timeline actually. I forgot where, but it's before the 4 swords adventure. Though, I really can't wait to see the future of Zelda. It may never be the same as it used to be.
lets all be mature here. the story part is kinda bad. 1. guy wakes up without memories 2. guy learns he is a superhero who got defeated by villain 3. guy repairs giant robots to fight villain again 4. guy fight villain
You’re description is completely Disingenuous lol. You get to see links developing relationship with everyone around him through the flashbacks and it’s really emotional. What you gave isn’t “the story” it’s the OUTLINE , you could make any story seem bad by describing it in bad faith like that
The person who said there's no voice acting must have *LITERALLY* never played the game, as the first 5 seconds has Zelda talk.
Never played the game. Never even seen the trailers for the game (cause all of them had voice acting I believe). Probably just saw the posters for it, and on the switch ads.
That just proves that review is either a troll or just trying to take down the reputation of the game for whatever reason.
Metaphorically speaking there wasn't any voice acting. That takes consistent talent and direction, they had elements of both at times, but they never could put it all together
and also never played a single other zelda game because they have never had voice acting...
Angel of Art I
People who think anything but realistic graphics are bad really annoy me...
Realistic graphics look disgusting in a video game.
I’ll play Tetris over Call of Duty, graphics don’t mean anything
I really like your pokemon comparison. made me laugh.
I'd be okay with a little blood and battle scars in Pokemon, tbh. Not gore, just signs that they've been in a tough fight.
I give this video a 0/10 , there is not variety in reviews and video quality was so bad , there was no story behind this video and anormal ads.
Don’t take this seriously
The Demon King Ganon 😂
that's what a /s is for
UHMUHDIG DIWJDJIEFJFF
"Recycled old Zelda characters" yeah, they really went downhill when they put Zelda in their Zelda game.
Y no preencess pitch. 0/10 cuz Zelda game uses chars from same series. Robbie wants to have a word with them btw.
der nu robbi rotton in gam. he populur cus maro said he like robie and he from Metroid which da seres da botw ih in dey jus use Zelda n link n ganon n bettle and EVERYONE THAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE N THE GAME
they're right though. nintendo are the cheapest and laziest in that regard. rehashing the same games and characters for over 3 decades gets old. try to take your BS bias goggles off and think rationally next time. mechanically speaking, nintendo are the best though.
AH silver but think what would a Mario or Zelda game be without FREAKING MARIO OR ZELDA
Saying the graphics are bad is a stupid criticism since the game follows a art style instead of being life like
this helps make the game timeless since the graphics won't age badly or become outdated
Windwaker has aged really well and looks newer than Twilight Princess even though twilight princess is the newer game
this is because of Windwakers art style
Bloodborne Survivor I’m playing Wind Waker right now and it’s hard to believe it came out 15 years ago.
plus it had to use same graphics for wii u which held it back on switch
The graphics DO look more realistic than in tww and that's why ie an one-shade-only stone texture looks kinda weird and washed out. I do agree with that the graphics are not perfect, most of the areas look better from far away and when u get close it looks like the texture is just overstretched sometimes.
Bloodborne Survivor ikr plus with the HD remake wind waker is only beat by Botw
Bloodborne Survivor very good point, wind waker and botw both share a very similar style with cartoonish characters Which will make them never look old. The characters pop out from the more heavily detailed graphics of the world around you
I love how "bad graphics" means "not realistic graphics" to some people. Pathetic
Cortez Pierson It is, it's absolutely pathetic. And all of those sad and pathetic people need to watch a video called Graphics vs. Aesthetics. Because they might actually learn something.
Then again that video uses some big words so It might just go over their head.
GANTZ100pts I watched the video and it is really important for people to watch it so they won't moan like 3 year olds
I find the Artistic style beautiful myself, plus the attention they put into its environments pays off wonderfully, the way the grass moves in the wind, the way Lightning strikes metalic objects in a storm, It more than makes up for its supposed "Bag graphics".
Gamers are confused people.
right if people hated cell shading ww wouldn't be popular
botw just looks like some alpha game, the game looks washed out and the textures as blurry as fuck
On the Amazon page for the game, there is some soccer mom getting all triggered that the game is "demonic and satanic" because it involves spirits. It's hillarious.
TheAngryMudkip MudkipsForLife XD thats great, kinda like my dad with pokemon
Poe's law?
TheAngryMudkip MudkipsForLife Don't you remember that scene where Link summons Satan to consume hid body and then literally gets drunk and does drugs?
HAHAHAH. Hilarious. Majora's mask or twilight princess maybe, but BOTW??? Funny joke.
TheAngryMudkip MudkipsForLife I need to see this
Who would've thought that a zelda game would have used zelda characters!!!!!!!!
Stultus Films I was so surprised and mad at Nintendo
WOW!
ITS NOT LIKE MOST OF THEM ARE SERIES STAPLES OR ANYTHING
YEAH NINTENDO,JUST GET RID OF LINK, ITS NOT LIKE HE'S THE MAIN CHARACTER OR ANYTHING
They probably wanted their oc
I know right! I was looking forward to save princess peach playing as Mario!!!
I think the last review, the guy who played 8 hours, never got off the Great Plateau.
I had to play for 50 hours to beat first time... playing again and only have played for for 5 hours and just got to karuko village for memories. This guy that played for 8 hours must have just gone straight to gannon or something like that
Your icon is making me hungry.
XANA520 yep, he’s a noob
XD
And what proves it is that he says it hold you’re hand but once you get off the great plateau it stops holding you’re hand
They probably thought the Great Plateau was the whole world.
AHurdOfBronies they probably believe that the earth is flat
AHurdOfBronies thats my favorite place tho xD(it just felt epic to explore it for the first time)
i like it but there is some FPS problems they need to fix
they probably thought the whole game was the opening chamber
I have a friend who actually thinks like this. He played for 5 hours, and then left the game for horizon: zero dawn, because zelda were too easy in his opinion and nothing to do. Maybe some people don't get, that the great plateau is some kind of tutorial, and the whole game doesn't force you to go a strict path.
"Literally nothing to do". Have you PLAYED the game? Have you cooked food? Hunted prey? Killed enemies? Found secrets? Climbed mountains? Uncovered treasure? Solved shrines? Cause there is a LOT to do.
Pokemon Trainer Link Except to HATE, to THEM.
THIS. Everytime. You get distracted (in a good way) from the "main quest" a lot, just by walking around
i just finished the first big dungeon and boss fight (playing since launch date, also no spoilers lol) because i got distracted from the main quest and went off to climb every tower i saw in the distance or every shrine and small town or just cooked food for hours on end. this game definatly has been distracting me from the main story in a good way
Pokemon Trainer Link Yeah seriously there's so much TO DO in this game that I have a hard time staying on track...
Why does every asshole want realistic graphics? Wouldn't you want a game to look like a game? The art style in this game is beautiful and feels smooth.
I-I don't know...
Gurosama Bltch If every video game isn’t Shooter McGunman goes to war with a grayscale palette then it obviously sucks
Gurosama Bltch only thing I don’t like is the rock and cliff textures kinda suck and water could use more animations to it, it’s sadly static, no ripples or visible currents or little waves and such
I dislike the art style, but I completely agree.
What's with people complaining about the graphics? It's just an art style. not everything has to look realistic lmao
What graphs? Did you mean *graphics?*
Thought I edited that... Oh well.
Sometimes it's just ugly. Art style doesn't mean all imperfections are intentional.
Lank the Dank I guess people just expect to see shadow of the colossus
I mean, it's not next gen. The game looks pretty at times, but so does Resident evil on the ps2. Overrall the graphics aren't bad but a little outdated.
"and the characters are recycled old Zelda characters" WHAT DO YOU EXPECT IN A FUCKING ZELDA GAME THEN?!
Kawaii Pyromancer im sure they want Samus being the princess and Mario being the villain and Dark Pit as the hero
Samus as a princess is such a weird image lmao
no kiddin xD
Kawaii Pyromancer especially considering Link is now officially the Avatar. 100 year sleep past lives, metal bending, water bending has a boomerang etc
Wrong, you don't get a boomerang, you get boomerangS, tons of them, because they break in 4 throw and are utterly useless anyway.
"Only same 4 dungeons"
...
they can't get out of the Great Plateau can they? I don't know whether to laugh or cry.
luna chan hyrule castle is a dungeon.
Yeah, pretty sad
luna chan *cough* 140 shrines *cough* and hyrule castle *cough*
I think he was talking about the Divine Beasts
buzzbuzz 323 120 man XD
"The game always holds your hand" no, the game reaches out to you, but when you reach for it, it slaps your hand and throws you in to die. Holy shit I love it.
Ethan Hendrickson You must suck at gaming. The puzzles in BOTW is made for retards, shrines sucked. Nothing like the Dungeons
Ethan Hendrickson like
I mean
Did they not meet the lynel?
Joseph Mauricio Flores the dungeons back in the day were just longer not harder lmao
Not only that the hand is that of a beautiful maiden and the closer you get the more you realise it's a lynel holding that hand in its mouth
that is so accurate that it's funny
Artstyle is amazing, I just wish it was clean and technical better. Even the best artstyle slightly fails if your game isn't looking clean.
The Extra Credits video on Aesthetics vs Graphics and IIRC the Errant Signal video on Photorealism is something more gamers should watch tbh.
Personally I love that they went Ghibli Zelda with this one.
To be honest, if they made the graphics hyper-realistic then a lot of Sony fanboys would just be like *NINTEND0 IS C0PYING H0RIZ0N ZER0 DAWN 0/10*
Undim. I love the graphics style, but I'd have to disagree about realistic graphic being boring. When I was in the process of beating Unchanged 4, I was constantly stopping and looking at the landscape. It looked so amazingly real, it was hard to believe sometimes.
I laugh at the people who never got off the great plateau
I mean my cousin spent over 500 hours on it… decides to let me play a new game he started IMMEDIATELY gets an armor piece (forgot the name, it keeps you warm early game) and a side quest he missed
I never even got on the plateu yet.... :-(
isaac3002 you START on the plateu...
I know, I never got on it though....
isaac3002 hahahaha 😂😂
I've been playing Zelda since i was 5 years old, first game i picked up? Ocarina of time, my dad had it, bought it when it came out in 1998 and when i was old enough to figure out what it was, he walked me through playing it, sure he had to beat Bongo for me literally every time i got up to it but the rest of it? i'd work out myself. Yes... even the water temple (i now have the Water Medallion tattooed onto my skin).
I've never had a Zelda game that i couldn't complete within a week
Ocarina of time? i can do in a day.
Twilight princess? give me a weekend
Skyward sword? i'd completed that game two days after i got it, on an early release cause i pre-ordered it (technically i beat it a day after it was released to the public, side quests and goddess cubes all completed)
Majora's mask took me a bit longer, that took me half a week right there but that game was FUCKED UP yo.
I found the water temple as my favorite temple in the game (OoT). It was a unique concept and I don't see what the complaint is about, it was generally fun for me with the design. My only flaw with it was the room with six tektites that always seemed to scare me whenever I tried to pass ;-;
No guide? Well...impa? I guess?
I kind of want a great sea DLC. At least some kind of expansion on the boats mechanic. I thought there was going to be some kind of archipelago in the south east of the map. I hoped for a boss battle of the boat.
I thought OOT came out in 1998 I must be off 😯 it was also my first game and can also complete it quickly as well. I love exploring BOTW I feel like I shouldn't rush in it. I love the atmosphere
J Westaroo well there is going to be another story with DLC
8/10
samsote just a game though, and can you tell me the breath of the wild story pls?
Exactly this!
Thank god there’s somebody here who doesn’t blindly give something a 10/10 and then call everyone else pathetic
"The characters are recycled old Zelda characters"
Funny because the only characters I see "recycled" are Zelda, Link, Ganon, and the NPC Beedle.
Lank the Dank And Impa.
No, the one in Wind Waker was named Daphnes.
Daphnes Nohansen Hyrule.
Lank the Dank
But it's basically the same model.
Same model, same family, different character.
Y'know, it's not like a major part of the lore is that characters are reincarnated or anything. Not at all. (Extreme sarcasm here.)
When I first saw the graphics, it took my breath away. It was so bloody beautiful that I would kiss the graphic's ass.
It's beautiful man, beautiful.
mae adam the graphics made by breath go wild
that's why it's called breath of the wild
Well you better get your breath back so you can actually play the game
mae adam That's exactly what I was thinking! I have the Wii U version but it was STILL breathtaking!
some people just don't like the art style of the game
"Dialogs aremonly text, without voice acting..."
Oh. _Oh my god._
Daniel Montaseri not to mention it would’ve been delayed even more
THAT was defenitly a troll
Daniel M. I don't think so. Skyrim on the Switch is only 12Gb.... Skyrim has thousands of lines all voice acted.
_"Botw has zero voice acting!"_
Me: *_Kowalski Analysis_*
Its as we feared. There a complete fucktard.
"the characters are recycled old Zelda characters". This person is an unrecognised genius. How could a game with reincarnation as a prevalent theme recycle characters? HOW COULD YOU NINTENDO!?!?!?!??!
リンク 天皇陛下 I KnOw!1!11!! ZEldA aNd LinK aREin a ZeLdA GaME FoRL iKe tHe bIlliOnth TiimE!11!! (Obvious sarcasm is obvious)
リンク 天皇陛下 Actuallly the Hinox and Lynels are from older games. I think the Bokoblins were too
They're probably just 8 year olds that can't afford the game and play Call of Duty and are the toxic types of players, that game is recycled over and over again
They're part of the same universe... its like saying the demons in Doom are recycled from older dooms or that headcrabs and zombies are recycled into Half-life 2, I mean they belong there... It'd be more foolish if they magically stopped existing lmao
luna chan zelda.gamepedia.com/Hinox
Wanna shut the fuck up now?
man people these days if it's not 1080p and a first person shoot em up with photo realistic graphics then they think it's garbage and hate it
douglas fern That's so true
GD Lumen not totally true but yeah graphics arent be all but power is important at times and in this case better hardware make the game is even bettr experience
preach brother
Matthew Rondello They were too dumb and didn't understand the controls.
he didn't get out of the shrine of resurrection...
Tha's not the real question, the real questions are:
Is he telling the truth?
did he actually played the game?
And Why metacritic have this "users reviews" function if it doesn't works?
I had a friend that said pokemon was shit because he did not know what to do, he fricken forgot he had to deliver back oak's parcel back to pallet town. If you call that difficult no wonder he only enjoys First person shooters.

DEAR LORD I CAN’T BREAAAAATHEEE..!!!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
When the guy said '4 same dungeons' I was like 'maybe you should progress through more than just the first 30 minutes'
I think the reviewer was referring to the 4 MAIN dungeons (even though technically there were 5)
I actually spent a good hour on the plateau finishing stuff because I kept falling into the cold water trying to cross the river like a stubborn psycho...needless to say I succeeded once I got that dang metal plate to stay still. Really the only legitimately frustrating thing I found in the game is how wonky the physics engine feels at times. It never changes or anything but when its not doing what you want it to you start to want to punch things.
I think he meant divine beast
Or maybe he went to one same dungeon 4 times
Me who decided to complete all 120 shrines: ah yes, only 4
No voice acting? Did that Fanat-23 even start playing?
No voice acting in Zelda was never a problem for me
Link was giving him the silent treatment ;)
Is it just me or does it sound like kids are the ones writing these?
Only vindictive manchildren would go to that much trouble to attack Zelda.
Miguel Angel I'm a teenager(13 years old and in high school) and I thinks the game looks great and I can't wait to explore the open world
Miguel Angel considering the fact one of them brought up minecraft...
Miguel Angel I was way more positive as a kid (ex: I liked Cat in the Hat before it was cool)
Propably those kids who play COD
I've only made it to Kakariko Village, so far, but from my time exploring the Great Plateau, I can say the graphics are amazing, and the frame rate does occasionally drop in areas with a ton of grass. As soon as the game came out I spoiled the story for myself, so I can already say that was great. The open world is HUGE with a ton of stuff to explore. The people writing these reviews must have barely even touched the game.
death bee where is the village and I agree

Alpha008 they get paid in salt

Alpha008 I rate it 9/10 the only reason I'm not rating it 10/10 only. Because it takes a fucking century to get to new places XD
whats up with the "bad graphics"?
the graphics are awesome
even on the wii u version! (I think)
the Graphic drops doesn't bother me, I even hardly notice them!
The graphics are great, but the pop in is a little meh, the scope is useless for scouting out enemies because they don't pop in. Thats the only annoying thing about the game so far.
The Ace Attorney even then you don't need to "scout " much if at all
The Ace Attorney the scout is great. I use it to see shrines, towers, and if I want to see a better version of something in the distance. I didn't know what Vah medoh was, and the scope was my friend when I didn't know where to go.

I laugh at people who cry about only 4 dungeons in Botw. Majora's Mask says hi!
Some of the later shrines take quite a bit of time to figure out, one shrine needed you to use one of the chests inside to complete an electrical circuit.
that was actually pretty obvious to

Pro tip for game reviewers: BE GENERALLY GOOD AT VIDEO GAMES AND PAY ATTENTION TO THE S*** THAT IS HAPPENING
Shadowstriker PREACH
Shadowstriker I’m not even that good at video games but I’ve familiarized myself enough with the controls and pay attention to the text from NPC’s to make progress.
Nova, I’m fucking awful at games, but I ain’t giving them one star because I suck at the game.
@@pieontoastsandloafs if you're bad, then, don't be a reviewer
Not a game reviewer (not professionally anyway, but neither were they) but I am good and I did pay attention. I payed attention through 500 hours across four playthroughs. The game is not 10/10 material. But I’m the kind of person who doesn’t believe in perfect 10/10 reviews. At the very most, it’s worth 7/10, but my personal rating is 3/10 for reasons far too length to type out here. I’m happy to link a few comments I’ve posted on Reddit if you’d like something more in depth.
i think that this zelda game graphics looks really pleasant and relaxing, like a studio ghibli move. anyone else who agrees with me ?

Totally! I mean, Impa herself also looks like she came right out of a Studio Ghibli movie! (Especially her surprised face.)
Agree! The game is cool, but also just calming for some reason.

Unpopular opinion: I LOVE the graphics
Everything In the World I agree, I love the graphics of the BOTW
Everything In the World I think this thread is referring to the art style and not the graphics, the haters are most probably referring to the render distance, resolution, etc.
But I gotta agree, the art style looks amazing, can't wait to get my hands on a Switch and BotW
Same here, the graphics look like something straight out of a Ghibli movie.
Uh... Unpopular?

Literally all the comments on youtube (or other) are angry haters who don't actually own the console, or game but feel the need to make a review/statement about it.
Matty F they salty that Zelda was better received than Horizon although it is still a good game
Horizon did remind me a lot of Breath of the Wild. Because you know killer corrupted robots well Borderlands 1 also had this but in recent times Horizon is the most compared.
I know right its really sad.
Because they feel threatened by the fact that a Nintendo console might do well
***** Literally the only comparisons those clowns make are the graphics and story ffs
Why does everyone say it's graphics are bad, they are...AWSOME!!!
yea also it runs on the go, i'm sure the bad reviews are from trolls and fanboys of sony or ms
Hey ralsei
Because by todays standards they're total dogshit. Stuff doesn't have to look realistic to be good but c'mon, there are so many examples of similar styles being done infinitely better.
Cosmic legends I agree I think the graphics are awesome!!! The thing some people dont get is that there's different game graphics styles.
yeah and i really love the artstyle
i dont know why people just focus on graphics
but for me on the wii U there are some FPS drops
The only 2 problems that I found with the game is the fps drop which isn't a good thing but nothing game braking since I'm sorta okay with 20 fps But the problem is the low resolution, It's just annoying when you notice a square pixel right in the immersion of the game, It's better then Skyward sword in that aspect but still there which I kinda find odd that they can't seem to want higher resolution.
problems for me= fps drop like once every 2 days and I cant figure out how to get through the yiga clan hide out. that's it. that's pretty much 10/10 or 9.9999999999999999999999999999/10
Graphics help immerse the player, but ideally people shouldn't judge a game as good or bad simply on graphics alone
Explode0matic, you have to sneak around the people and drop bananas in random places to distract the guards. Then you have to defeat... well... I won't spoil it.

"no voice acting"
well I guess I know who didn't even finish the Great Plateau
No, they haven't played the game at all. Literally the first thing you hear when you start the game is Zelda's voice telling Link to open his eyes.
eh, guess you're right xD
they probably meant more voices than just cut scenes.
***** Having only cut scenes voices was the norm in ps2 days. Nintnedo is still stuck in the past
***** Should have gone all the way. Twilight Princess should have had voice acting
All PC gamers seem to complain about FPS and/or resolution.
yup, they aren't used to 20 fps
"4k is the future" is like saying that VR will be the only gaming platform. Nintendo has proved that 1080p even 720p is enough to make a absolute masterpiece
Aleksi Juhola Hell, I would argue you can make fantastic art with 320x200.
Kay Peranovic i dont personally don't mind fps but omg i love zelda botw graphics!!!
Can't pet the dogs, 0/10.
0/10 too much exploration.

Benjamin Bourdeau that guy clearly took 8 hours to clear the tutorial phase of the Great Plateau, in which the only hand holding is telling you how the controls work. "There is an 80% percent chance that Zelda is inside the temple"🤣
Apparently they didn't finish the game so they thought there wasn't any story.
Apparently they didn't even get to the backstory in the 8 hours of playing.
Thomas Blay Yes, and examples of great immersion are the Philips CD-i Zelda games.
Oh man, yeah having the centuries old evil ghost queen sound the same as the friendly blacksmith you're probably going to be doing most of your trading with early on didn't exactly help maintain the illusion.
"You were almost a Jill sandwich."
The true example of bad voice acting.
Bethesda have gotten better with the voice acting thing in recent years in fallout 4 beyond generic npcs that don't have anything to say and robots most of the voices are different.
In skyrim a lot of characters shared a voice actor but it was more varied than oblivion where all elves shared a voice
Khajit and argonians shared one, nords and orcs shared one
The Bretons imperials and red guard had separate actors but the entire race had the same voice except for a few exceptions
LOL this was hysterical. The only thing i dislike about breath of the wild is the general lack of music. thats it. lol
I agree. I do miss the music. As i am very fond of kickass video game music. but I like how the lack of music provides an almost calm and tranquil experience
PNG the only thing I disliked was how little durability the weapons have
PNG Sadly that seems to be most open world games because that would seem to give it more atmosphere?
PNG try listening to music while playing!
I think it's just an excuse not to make music. Witcher 3 used overworld music to amazing effect, the starting area's theme gave the game an amazing atmosphere from the start
“Recycled old Zelda characters”
I wonder why it’s a series!
Oh come on Zelda is in ANOTHER Zelda game UGH
"maybe young children will like it" - "oversimplified quests and puzzles" - "the game holds your hand"
I'm pretty sure most of these 1/10 and 0/10 reviews never actually played the game, but... that last one is just sad. This is easily the most challenging Zelda since... well.. the NES games and it being as open world as it is makes it entirely unsuited for small children.
(spoilers below)
The puzzles vary from simple over tricky to downright brilliant, especially when the game doesn't tell you anymore which item to use, it gets very interesting in those shrines.

The game sucks because it doesn't run at 3000 fps
Joesspell It also can't play 8k graphics
Joesspell idk why but this made me laugh so hard
Regardless, there were plenty of games for the PS3 that ran at 60:
www.giantbomb.com/60-fps-on-consoles/3015-3223/games/
www.gamefaqs.com/boards/927750-playstation-3/69574012
And the Wii-U is running the game at 720p with.... framedrops to 20 from 30.

David Carlton A fair and balanced opinion, thank you.

If you see all the cutscenes, you've beaten Pac-man's story, you just didn't 100% complete it
Depends on the game. I would say atleast 5 hours is a good point where you can say if its good or not. However this does not apply to all games.
I don't agree with that you have to finish a game before rating it
Not really. I would say after a few hours for the most part you have a good idea on the game itself.
Says it deserves a 6 - 6.5

I feel like the divine beast dungeons could have been better/longer and the dungeon bosses felt too similar in how they looked
What’s crazy about the reviews is that they are back wards. The biggest problem is lack of story and lack of linear gameplay and feeling of progression.
Man, these guys must just live really sad lives, Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was absolutely amazing.
True. While it’s not my favorite game ever (that goes to 3D Land), I would say it’s the best game I’ve ever played. I would even say it’s within the 5 best games ever made.
Dude, opinions differ
@@phigaro_ Agree. I don't like it either.
i died while trying to defeat a goblin. worst nintendo game ever 10/10

BEFOUR!?
Too much water. Not enough sky. Needs more korok seeds. 1/10
These folks have only ever played Overwatch most likely. 🤣
NEEDS MORE KOROK SEEDS!!!!!
THERE ARE 900 of them, 900 korok seeds and they complain there aren’t enough WTF
Actually, no one has a real reason to hate on anything, but u know,
Some men just want to watch the world burn... in one way or another
Plus the limitations of the Wii U's hardware
Viktor the victor A lot of people are hating but also there are tons of people blinded from the issues the game has
it's the other video game companies who are salty about how well Nintendo is doing with the game
They aren't yet. It is very appearant that they most likely will, as they've started making games for Nintendo consoles, and stopped making any of their own.
they didint make link black because nintendo is racist 0/10
Is that leginimatly a review? I think it's racist to black wash a game.
You didn't play the game long enough to get the shadow link costume "inspired from a creature formed from darkness"...actually you're right, Nintendo is racist

"Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa it's not 4k waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa"
Here are my 3 biggest issues
1: The lack of traditional dungeons - There is a distinct lack of dungeons. I understand that there are a lot of shrines and the yes there are the same amount of dungeons as MM, but this is a lot different. This is a really good game and the runes are really creative and fun to use, but I want my traditional dungeons and also *g i v e m e m y g o o d b o s s e s*
2: Its truly a Zelda Game - Yes yes yes, I hear you screaming. I get it. But this is much less a Zelda game and moreso an open world puzzle game. There is so many great things that I love but a lot of them aren't truly "Zelda," if you get what I mean
3: Soundtrack - Hyrule Castle is absolutely fantastic.
I disagree on Soundtrack, while it is absent alot, when it does appear, the music nails the moment. I found the sountrack nice.
Things need to change one day my guy
ICU same. ocarina of times hyrule field would be so out of place in botw
they just don't know about good gaming they only play freaking candy crush
and minecraft
BonnieBomb well Minecraft pretty good but not the best game ever
They still play on Friv.
I agree
Slow, boring, repetitive, lack of variety of enemies, breakable weapons and cooking. I played the first 2 hours and I didn’t like it, I played for four hours more and I hated it. Maybe it’s a game for other audiences but not for me
I can just imagine that guy who completed the first 4 shrines and probably skipped the dialogue with the old man, just running around the small island for a few hours.
These salty Sony fanboys are pretty funny XD
Good thing user reviews don't affect the score.
That's not as bad as one that I heard
*WARNING* Partial spoilers below!
One of the reviews I read said that when they played there was a glitch that caused Calamity Ganon to lose half his health at the beginning of the fight.
🤦,people are so stupid
I loved this game and love that you can go just about anywhere and there might be a treasure chest , sleeping bad guys or those guardians. Ran into a hidden palace in some trench which just happen to be a den of death < lots of guardians > .
"Has recycled Zelda characters"
*Nintendo*- Sorry I forgot Zelda's name was in the title, it's not like that means there will be old characters like...Zelda! We should have made the characters as diverse as Mario titles.
you dislike exactly what i dislike about mario. none of the characters have personality except for luigi and that's only because of the luigi's mansion games.
Thank you to make these critics laughtable

"No story"
Excuse me?
There’s a story but it’s really weak
AppointedKnight
It's not weak at all.
AppointedKnight
It has a fit in the timeline actually. I forgot where, but it's before the 4 swords adventure. Though, I really can't wait to see the future of Zelda. It may never be the same as it used to be.
the graphics may be old, but they still look fantastic.
lets all be mature here. the story part is kinda bad.
1. guy wakes up without memories
2. guy learns he is a superhero who got defeated by villain
3. guy repairs giant robots to fight villain again
4. guy fight villain
You’re description is completely Disingenuous lol. You get to see links developing relationship with everyone around him through the flashbacks and it’s really emotional. What you gave isn’t “the story” it’s the OUTLINE , you could make any story seem bad by describing it in bad faith like that
The Zelda in this game is the best written Zelda in the franschise, even beating Skyward Sword Zelda by a small margin.
