You've honestly inspired me to play Wand Techer with all these videos. I've always loved the aesthetic of this class but steered away from it with all the naysaying people like to do about how "bad" it is. Yesterday during a UQ I had someone say "omg this Techer is godly" and honestly playing this weapon successfully feels so much more rewarding than other weapons.

I think empirically Te is only bad for extremely high level stuff like solo purples. It's flashy and fun to play in all other content, and a big DPS increase for the whole group on 8 person MPAs. If I go empirically off time attack records on solo Devastators, a Te is a net DPS gain as soon as you have 5 other people. It's great in casual content too due to both Talis and the quadratic scaling property of Wave Crash.

good vid. that was basically what I noticed when I only used a wand as a te/fo. there's times where if you didn't plan well enough, you're struggling to do something worthwhile with your downs.
I used to *hate* relying on JB, but I really appreciate them now. They're fun to use. And while this doesn't have anything to do with this convo specifically, being able to try out DBs has been really fun too. Unfortunately there's no way to get the most out of that combo afaik, but it's probably for the best lol.
That being said, I do wish that rapid... whatever skill that bouncer got this patch helped you get through JB intensity quicker, b/c the further we've been getting along since it's introduction, the tighter the timing for getting that off before the down ends, or even worst when the entire weakpoint just disappears, is becoming.
I'm still wondering if talis has a place in all this, but it seems like the talis mark thingy is really focused on if you're committed to using it.

One of the things I recently tested was compound tech- baranstion only on down vs off cool down.
On down only is faster for money. They toe for margrius and then off cooldown wins on lizenots.
This is a similar progression as te/bo jetboots which leads me to believe it's all about weak spot damage.
So if you don't have a weak spot open, hold the compound but once it's available it's open season.
Because meter multiplies 1.5x like everything else. Dropping any compound in those situations is ideal. And might actually beat jet boots.
But in regards to talis mark, general consensus is a skill that takes up space.

Would it mean in team scenarios Te/Bo should be better than fighter since it provides faster downs so the team can go ham on the boss while dealing similar dmg to Te/Fi? Or am I missing something?

      That's what I thought too:
      Te/Bo for faster downing
      Te/Fi for Downed Potency Increase

Yes , but there might be another factor that I did not account for. That being how Te/Bo is manipulating weak spot bonuses more often than Te/Fi leading to more damage and progressively faster times.
Te/Fi clears WuKong faster likely due to not having an accessible but weak spot all the time. Magrius has a weak spot during the entirety of her phase 2. I believe this where/why the performance switch occurs.
So while te/bo will still provide more down opportunities because it can concentrate on Barantsion. it might not match the power of Te/Fi who immediately uses any an all compounds whenever a weak spot is available.
Now there are other factors like PP management that Te/Bo does not have to worry about that may make these things less pronounced.
But i did some other testing looking at different ways of using compounds and found a similar effect. Leading me to believe it isn't Te/Bo alone that's responsible for what we see in this video.

i've been sticking to te/fo and it's been pretty sweet for me in groups doing purples. have tried fi but i realize i get tripped up alot with pp management. havent tested out the new tails yet but i wanna try it tomorrow on the giraffe because man sometimes he's just annoying for me as melee and doing flame spears mechanic for party.

how are techters faring on solo purples on average I can get 2 down but can’t seem to finish the third and I’m wondering if this is a skill issue on my end or an issue with the classes DPS as a whole

So it depends on how you are optimizing play with the new skills (something I am still figuring out) and of course overall potency. I am able to down 4 bosses. But now class is able to solo I believe. Fighter can get to Nils with 5 minutes but thats because Double Saber is cracked now on top of everything else.

why did you make the damage value so small? lel

It's a meaningless visual in the grand scheme of things. Once you've seen a couple of numbers you know where your damage is at.
