Well being an old timer, I started out with listening to the first 2 albums with Paul over and over. I was indeed sad to see him leave the band but must say I still loved maiden with Bruce none the less. I just slap in whatever album i feel in the mood for on any given day :)
Why is everyone bitching about what MAIDEN has become?? I have been a maiden fan from album 1 IRON MAIDEN. Some stuff is better than other stuff, I would agree. But I seen Paul on tour a few months back and there is no way we could front the band today, his head and heart wasn't in it, he would be dead today... The band has evolved and it wouldn't be possible with out some changes. I do love the old stuff and listen to it daily along with some newer "post 85 is what I call newer"
love the harmony in this-I was 14 in 1980..Wasn't quite old enough to see them in hollywood at the clubs. Too bad they were awesome. My first concert was rush at the fabulous forum on the signals tour. ok but not great then saw AC/DC that was great..then the original farewell tour for the who in 82 still have the bandana..The clash was booed off stage..
i love the first maiden album! i remember in youth i was lying there half sleeping, smoking and listening this song.. everything was alright and great! paul got 1000x more manpower than bruce!
been in this pub in london The Ruskin Arms... something weird...nowadays there's an indian family running the stuff....u can still smell the past....the small stage is still there and there is some pics behind the bar. New bands are still playing on sat. Was one of my best life experiences. Ese pub es el Ruskin Arms, fue una experiencia increible haberlo visitado, aun se siente el olor al pasado. Una familia de hindus lo mantiene, el pequeño escenario aun esta y hay fotos de maiden en el bar.
I've been there, just some weeks ago...it's a kind of haunted place, still you got the feeling of this early days despite that currently the pub is running by an Indian family it seems. You 'll see pics of the latest visits of Harris and Di'anno...its still a very friendly pub.
O ambiente era Punk, na época. O Iron Maiden surgiu neste ambiente, com proposta de som diferente. Esta transição foi feita por Dianno. Ele, portanto, foi importantíssimo, para o sucesso da banda até hoje.
@23schiller The first Maiden song I ever heard with Di'anno was their cover of "Women in Uniform." Since then I've been hooked, and can't listen to Bruce sing any of the old Di'anno era songs, it's just not the same.
Imo this is the best Iron Maiden song and unlike bands like Pink Floyd kicking someone for not beeing mainstream enough did not increase the quality at all.
@dieterderblau He didn't get on with Rod Smallwood, and apparently "listened to the wrong kind of music" sometimes. Personally, I think it's cause they first tried to get Adrian Smith in the band but he was still in Urchin but then they saw him again after it had disbanded and decided they'd rather have him than Den.
Its stupid when people try to compare Bruce and Paul because you simply cant. They both have their own completey different styles. Bruce is more metal and Paul is more Punk.
Comparing Di'Anno led Maiden and Dickinson led Maiden is useless-- it's like comparing Mantle-era Yankees and the DiMaggio era Yankees-- THEY BOTH WON THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP! They were just different, but just as legendary. Actually, that Maiden could go on and be just as good after Paul left is a credit to Murray and Harris most of all-- they are the only ones who stayed through it all and the ones IMHO who make the "Maiden sound" truly what it has been for the past 35 years.
Bruce is excellent but I also like the way Paul sings. I like Maiden albums til the number of beast cause aggresiveness, rough edgy sound and personality of each song were clealy different & unique.
I respect Bruce, but I prefer Di Anno, I had the chance to hear this song live recently and he rocks!. To compare Bruce and Paul is nonsense, Bruce maybe fits better in Maiden, but but as Paul told me once: "bah! I came from Punk...". visit my fansite diannobeast(dotcom)
Hehehe, Paul is struggling remain in tune. But I always prefer Paul, because he was raw and honest, represented punk attitude. Bruce is slick, boring and escapist middle class specialist.
His facts are right...do you know anything of Maiden's history? Paul was preforming more and more like shit due to alcohol/drugs. That's why they fired him.
@bmsingl22 A lot of people have been brainwashed into thinking that The Number of the beast is 'the classic'. But it was only that way because it was popular. The same people are praising their new horribly shitty album.
Thank You Paul....Now Rock for Eternity!
this shows how good Dianno is, so pure and raw
Long live these Dianno era uploads!! Remember Tommorow - best song ever??

Not a Maiden fan, nor even Metal for that matter. But, you have to give this song it's credit...it's class.
Even here you can see how great of a band they are.

agreed! they never played it as well as they did the first time. 1980 Iron Maiden forever!!!

Dennis Straton!!!!

Anyone know who plays the two solos on Strangeworld?
@Blackdragon52k But Bruce can do the high notes "Fiiiiiiieeeerrr"!!! I really admire him for that.
Stratton solo! FTW!!!

BRUCE IS THE BEST!!!
UP THE IRONS!
@desandiaycoco Oh sush! I've heard Bruce do this live and he more than does it justice.
2:09-2:11 .the price of ticket of all concerts of maiden

Name of the song

di`anno got kicked because he couldent deal the pressure! and he quit. then they got bruce.
Andrews? its dianno
Why did the get of Paul Dianno he was so much better than the new guy
amo esta cancion (L)
Cómo se llama?
I wish Dianno had stuck with Maiden..
STRATON MOLA
WHAT?
Got to admit, Stratton outclasses Dave here. Shame to have let Stratton go, sounds like he could have been better than Dave & Adrian.
Much more real and sexy than Bruce. I always loved Dianno.
DiAnno destroys.

@dieterderblau Stratton > Smith

dont sing this song and the other of first 2 albums , bruce.
Paul was the real lead singer for the band. Very punkish and aggressive compared to Bruce.
