- Traveling through Celtica, Will and Horace are left behind as Gilan goes to explore an abandoned town. With nothing better to do, the two boys decide to practice their swordcraft in the unknown territory.
This film is based on an exerpet from the book "Ranger's Apprentice: The Burning Bridge"
Special thanks to John Flanagan for writing such a compelling series.
Love the Ranger's Apprentice books? Check out the other video we made,
an original story inspired by the series, here: ua-cam.com/video/-IFoGYquzwg/v-deo.html
Gotta wish people made stuff like this still
There are two mistakes:
1. Will is taller than Horace in this short film, in the books hes way smaller than him
2. Will was practicing the double knive defense and not with a sword
Exactly. Thank you
I was thinking the same thing!
I would love to see more scenes from the books from you guys! Despite the "small" inaccuracies, I think you guys have a fun atmosphere and a strong sense of the scenes. With more practice and the more you re-enact the story, the better you guys will get at feeling more comfortable and natural with your character portrayals. Keep it up!
Will is supposed to be shorter and I'm pretty sure will and horace were practicing the double knife defense not teaching will to use a sword
You are thinking of this scene here: ua-cam.com/video/qSH6Q_DvIPU/v-deo.html. Later in the same book (The Burning Bridge) Horace and Will do practice swordcraft together. All the dialogue in this video is actually straight from the books!
@linkedproductions no they're right, they were learning the double knife defense what ur on about was actually earlier in the book, when will and Horace joke at gilan about the axe man they're still making they're way towards the town which is empty. This scene was just before they meet Cassandra, they then throw the weapons and clothes of the men attacking them into a ravine they near.
@@jarredwatson2174 yeah
@@LinkedProductions omg you did that one too! :D
Looks epic, but Will is taller than Horace-
Will is supposed to be a small boi ;w;
I love this, it's so well done! The costumes, fighting, and vibes are all accurate to the books, and the filming is pretty good too. It's so cool to see others who like Ranger's Apprentice :D
But I gotta say that dude who got threatened with a knife by Gilan had the best facial expression at the end haha
Glad you enjoyed it! I appreciate the kind words.
WOOOW i love the Ranger's appentrice books all,but in hungary(Budapest) there is only 1-5. series, and im so sad...But i hope the publishers will translate it!Well Done!Good work.I like your short films, but Will is taller than Horace!
maybe try in english ?
Are you gonna make another one? I would love to see it. I like the style you used for it it works wel with the story.
Thank you! I don't have any plans for another one, but it would be my dream to shoot a whole book as a TV series. It just comes down to a matter of of resources.
@@LinkedProductions i would watch that. Hope you get it one day.
i really like it that you do this, maybe it isn't 'perfect' but you can't be as perfect as John flanagan. It's just so difficult to do the 'invisable' thing;) in real life and that's funny to see.
Wow! So much better than the first film. Great job!
Why isn't this a tv series yet?
coming soon
hmm, good video! I haven’t read the book in a while, but I so believe in it Horace uses a long sword not a longsword, as he carries a buckler as well. He may have used a two-hander in the first books tho, overall well done!
They are supposed to be small/short sticks, and he carries the two at the same time...he ain’t a swordsman. But other than that and the fact Will is pretty tall I think it’s great!
I'm still have way through the series and I love it
The guy peed his pants 😂
de kort film klopt niet Will is kleiner dan Croch en niet groter
Heet hij Croch in het Nederlands???
Sorta cringy swordplay between Will and Horace. And the actors could have used a little bit more emotion while speaking, but overall a good short film.
