Yes exactly We all know Giannis is much harder to Guard than Durant. But he gave the diplomatic answer not to upset his friend KD. The xenophobic media narrative against Giannis makes people believe Him and KD are close. They actually aren't. Giannis does things on both sides of court KD can never do in his life.
I love this. I don’t think I’ve ever really heard him speak more than a sound bite. He’s super intelligent, I definitely see why he was always the go to guy
Hard? Most players make over 70% of free throws, 50 % on field goals and around 35% of their 3s, so that's the easiest besides uncontested layups. The hardest shot has to be a 3 pointer with someone hand checking you
@@alfonsoterrero8840 it’s mentally While physically yea that’s the hardest shot, mentally the open shot has a lot more variability to it, it’s the fact that’s because the fact that it is easier and you have more options is what makes it hard. First you got to calculate what angle, which is a bigger range then someone on you, then there is also the pressure of “I should always be making this shot” that gets to you.
@@yoshatabi hilarious thing is, the people with higher gpa's tend to make more boneheaded moves. Westbrook and Javale are prime examples of this, both had amazing grades but overthink and make terrible moves (Javale has fixed those tendencies though)
There's a video of Blake Griffin talking about this on Fallon basically saying that players are essentially exercising for 2 hours resulting in not a lot of oxygen making its way to the brain thereby making them sound stupid 😂
Dwyane Wade was an incredible basketball player, but more impressive to me, he is an incredible father. Love seeing him share his knowledge and insight like this.
White Mamba had a great line a few months ago in Duncan Robinsons podcast: " I'm closer to LeBron, than you are to me" This was in response to those guys who think they can ball/beat someone in the NBA...when they can't. At all.
the zone question and dw answer is so meta, i love it. You can easily succumb to thinking, that everything in pro basketball is super advanced and tactical - but in reality a lot of the tactical decision making is made on a coaching level, behind the scenes almost. The day-2-day stuff is practical n simple. So D-wade is pragmatic in his answer, and puts us in the mind of a bball player. Interesting input really. That being said, Im continously amazed how the only real answers to for example miamis 2-2-1 / 2-3 zone in the playoffs was either - pass the ball in the highpost and see what happens or maybe set a screen on the ball on top and see what happens....??? problem was, they were screening in the wrong direction, ideally, youd force the bump rotation vs. 2-3, by pick and rolling towards the middle - not on the top. Also we almost didnt see any off ball screens vs. that zone either. Pnr to force the bump combined with weakside screens have yet to happen in the NBA on a regular basis. And it´s weird, because they do so much of it in college... a lost art really
Watching him answer so cleverly all the questions I can't even imagine how hard it must have been for the rest of the NBA to play against him, not only he had the physicality and masterful technique , but a expert level understanding of the game itself.
Whether you love him or hate him, you can’t deny that Dwyane Wade gives back to charity, especially in the Chicago area. He started the Wade’s World Foundation, a community-based charity, and gives regularly to Blood, Water, and the Spirit Ministry, his hometown church in Chicago. (In fact, 10% of his salary goes to the church.) He also donates to Marquette University.😄😄😄😄
That dunk on Andy was so impressive.. first if all he didn't have all his momentum cuz he took one side step and dunked at a weird angle showing how strong he really is, Andy back pedaling was true and it was even better cuz LeBron tried to dunk the play before and got blocked then Dwade came down and Varejao folded like an accordion
I love this episode of WIRED Tech Support! Despite all the jokes about him, most specifically that Dunk Contest controversy, Wade still answered these questions intelligently. At first, I was about to comment here "I'll give that interview a 9", but when I heard his answers, it changed my mind immediately lol Gotta love Dwyane Wade!
I love how the names of the chapters in the video are the names of the people who tweeted and not the subject matter itself, gave me a good laugh thinking Wade was talking about being a Certified Lover Boy when scanning the chapters
The get in the zone question is so true. Another phrase for the same thing is "flow state". And the truth is the harder you try to get back to it after being in it, the less likely you are to get there. Anxiety and frustration won't allow you to. The best thing to do is take everything as it comes and you will find that flow state often without even looking for it.
D Wade's answer on threes is such a classy response. The man obviously has nostalgia for his era, but understands that the game evolves, and appreciates it for what it is.
The open shot being the harder one instead of contested is pretty accurate for me too. I tend to overthink my shot when it is open most of the time leading to a silly miss. But pulling up a heavy contested one is also a bad shot selection so Imma go with the lightly contested shot where the defender is closing in but you still have enough space to shoot the ball.
Wade hardly code switched at all in this interview and was really smooth with the polished Standard English. It was interesting to note the one time he moved back into AAVE was when he was really visualizing a memory, putting himself back in the moment to relate his experience to the fans, and suddenly we get "he only have the ability to jump straight up."
5:53 The options for players who didn't win an MVP include John Havlicek, Scottie Pippen, Chris Paul, Jerry West, Dwyane Wade, John Stockton, Gary Payton, Jason Kidd, Tony Parker, Dwight Howard, George Mikan, Dolph Shayes, Manu Ginobili, Robert Parish, Paul Pierce, Patrick Ewing, Elgin Baylor, Ray Allen, Clyde Drexler, Tracy McGrady, George Gervin, Walt Frazier, and Damian Lillard.
