bruh I wish gaia had a long nose instead of groot like one.
Gaia build path "usually" is automate first age -> bird -> Lamp/Tatarius gate. One of the unique thing that Gaia has is that 4th mythic age god has tech that grants health-regeneration to myth units. Automates are like warrior myth units that can be re-build even when their hp drops to 0. so just spam automates+arcetus archers, Even if all your warrior die, you'll rebuild them for 0 cost as long you win the engagement.
Gaia Lush is kinda nerfed. one of the thing that Gaia lush did was that it removed ability for other CIV to building on. This meant that if there was gold mine, you could build economic building onto golden mines and it would prevent your opponent from using gold mine. This was particular strong for Egpyt because they are gold CIV. I wouldn't recommend spreading lush as it is not nearly as good as original.
They have obviously changed the Lush mechanics in the Retold edition, so maybe my perspective is entirely invalid by now... but from what I can remember of my childhood adventures with OG Age of Mythology, the Lush isn't really a viable "cover the map" kind of spread... it used to only grow in a fairly small radius around each building, so it really seems more like "it's just supposed to give you an extra edge defending against raids" rather than something that is actually worth trying to "paint the map" for... think about how many times you have to drop 85 wood/15 gold to build a building that is ONLY there to spread... a slow trickle of healing and a slight speed boost to nearby units. Good for defense, not for map coverage

Yeah in Titans expansion each gaia building prodced lush in a small radius around it that slowly grew, but I'm fairly certain the radius was capped, so the only way to "paint the map" in lush was to cover the map in buildings.

It feels like they did Ouranos dirty. Too bad. It was my fav major god to play as. Sky passages were always cheeky and made it feel like a free underworld passage power

@@30Salmao I hope so. But it could also be that LOS is connected to favor generation by oracles. In that case, Ouranos will have a big advantage. Gotta wait and see
8:25 Like this for example used to be a free Oranos' civ bonus but now you gotta pay favor and 150 gold. It's really cheap but still, before was free
The good thing is that they will support this for a while so gods will probably be rebalanced and altered with feedback and data in mind as we go. :)

I seem to be the only one who likes the changes to Oranos. He was outright better than the others before but now he's got a unique flavour that makes sense according to his lore
Oranos seems weak compared to previous versions, but damn Gaia might be actually good now.
Especially if you compare with Kronos. They will buff him or nerf the others.
Sky passages and his god power are very strong, but it does look a little bit underwhelming, let's wait and see how it plays.
@@30Salmao he is about the same. his old bonus was 10 passages, 10% m/s for infantry and bonus vision radius. they just slightly nerfed his passages from 10 ->1+age for total of 5 passages.
He was never really good other than mutiplayer 2vs2, 3vs3 games. Chronos was usually most prefered because of his decontruction god power to counter Norse Loki timing attack and Gaia was always prefered vs Greek/Egpyt to deny gold mines. with lush mechanic which doesn't exist anymore.
I guess most player will just play Kronos now.
Cant wait for the Atlanteans. I loved them in original AoM and will probably main them until the new races come out.

Shifting your temple into the enemy before you hit an age up for some goofy myth unit raid sounds funny.
Originally, Lush also prevented opponents to build on it.
Oracles gonna have soooo much L.O.S. with Uranos that is insane and there is an artefact that grants another 3 or so, thats half of the map like

Gaea’s movement speed bonus ONLY applies if they’re standing on lush which will be very situational and only in very niche locations.
Oranos’ bonus only applies to infantry but it applies with them all the time no matter where they are.

how good is AOM! i played my first multiplayter aoe style games this week end and all my losses were me being locked from giving units orders or getting disconnected, got a few cheeky wins in there, man what a sport! hope to see you out in the wild when it releases drongo!
If oracles grant favor based on the area you reveal on map, thats where oranos bonus lies. Line of sight bonus becomes better when you add it to an already wide circle

I hope for team games allies will also be able to use the sky passages. Will be good for defending each other's bases.
Carnivora always used to be better for ships. It would break a water stalemate in your favour then you would be one combat ship ahead. When opponents couldn't catch up you could take all the water uncontested.
One point of feedback is that I'd like to see more of the tech tree, if you are short on time just do a quick hover so we can pause and look.
While you might have had a look and thought of strats before hand we haven't :)

If the lush spawn by e.guild is larger, maybe it's viable to make a path from market to the farthest tc to make a faster trade

Hero citizens with leather armour are probably not far off age 2 infantry
Myth rush could be countered by priests in Egyptians, or Hersirs in Norse. But it might overwhelm the hero’s for the Greek since they can only get 1 hero per age

Oranos was my fave and now I just feel salty about his sky passages...
Gaia, as economic Titan, they should make it able to build farms from the start, grass will only be useful for healing farming citizens i guess, nobody in ranked uses healing because it's time wasting to them. I guess it'll be especially true for Gaia's grass
Oranos with regenerating Hero destroyers (with Hyperion) and kiting Arcuses, taging enemies, frontline sky passage providing easy reinforcements... best combo

I'm curious as to why the Egyptians aren't playable in this version. They seemed fully playable in the closed beta so I find it confusing that they're not an option here. I had a blast trying it out, with the only issue I had being norse units getting caught on buildings they just built. It seemed like they were trying to maintain their formation but couldn't because the building was in the way, but couldn't go around the building because it would break their formation. Selecting only a few at a time gets them going again, but it's rather frustrating. Beyond that I absolutely loved it and liked a lot of the changes.

I feel like they should just be renamed to the Titans. Atlanteans always felt weird to me since they were mostly leftover Greek stuff we never got but they got called Atlanteans because of the campaign.

13:36 "This is like creep gone crazy" - actually creep gave 30% movement speed to zerg units in SC2, 15% is significantly less than that :P I think you might be overestimating how good that is, especially since lush doesn't spread super fast. It seems to be a small defensive bonus, not "creep gone crazy".

Was hoping they’d remodel some of the Atlantean units. Never understood why they have a gladiator as their mainline infantry.
So I disagree slightly with your assumption that Kronos doesn't really want to go Rheia as much as Hyperion.
Getting two Behemoths immediately is devastating, especially if your opponent is still stuck in Classic - bonus points if you timeshift your starting Temple behind the opponent's base so your two free Behemoths immediately pop out right on top of them.
Couple this with Rheia's unique tech giving you great Favor generation and Kronos myth units refunding Favor on death and you can flood your opponent pretty quick.

We'll have to wait for thegame, but Lush's description says "Units", not "Your Units". Thus I would not be surprised if at least the movement speed bonus applies to all units, taht is also your enemie's ones.
Second thing: the description of CItizens still says that Towncenters produce Favor... though that should be wrong according to the other texts in the game...
I LOVED the lush rework! It feels so much better. In the original game it was kinda useless…

RIP Oranos , he was my main god in Titans and now it looks like he has nothing. They gave Gaia and Kronos a bunch more useful thing and all they did is take from Oranos. What's even the point of only being able to place a single sky passage anyways in the first age? I usually play huge 2v2v3v2v2 games against AI so the maps are always pretty huge so having 10 sky passages was great, now we get only 5 and not all at once? I don't get it, I guess I'll be switching to being a Kronos main 🤷♂
are Atlanteans the only civ without villager centres?
Atlantis is a Greek myth and all the Gods are Greek. They could have included the Aztecs
Dryads (depending on how much they change them) were good as myth units but not fantastic. Were a bonus to have but not game-changing IMO. Sorta just cool.

The tree they come from heals myth units but no mention of the god power shield. Probably makes the game less passive. The bird was always so much better than the dryads though.

I think you got the kronos math wrong... If it halves the cost of shifting, to shift a palace (150) with that you pay 125, not 75 as you said. Also it seems that tgat power costs wood and gold?

Yes. They announced an "all new" chinese civ, which sounds like it will be completely reworked since Chinese was universally disliked by fans of the series.
Then, there is a new mystery culture dlc in the pipeline. Probably Japanese, Celt, Mesopotamia, or Aztec.

Settlers in original AOM was 125 FOOD and 25 wood. wow they buffed that number by a lot.
@@dodang_9147 yeah but they decreased settler productivity, they were around 3 times faster now they are around 2 times faster than a normal village, train time too, so whatever
@@charlatao_jogo yes but there reason behind that change. heroes settler produce more. i don't know numbers. i believe original was 3.5 so 0.5 boost. this one might be 1x boost. if they're going parallel to be 3.0. This is also because.... promenithus(not sure if spelled the name correctly) has god power where he turns 3 units in circle into a hero. obviously this going to be used on settlers and because you can rebuy the power, you can spam this power to get original 3 settler count assuming the numerical balance.
it is late game nerf but it is also a early game buff. big buff in fact. alt economy was already really powerful in late game. they really they struggle on early game more so then anything because.... the cost were just so high to produce villagers. Obviously gaia does not have this god so that is why she has that 30% economy cost reduction to make up for the loss of economic god power. she kinda get some stuff back because her god power also gives infinity wood forest so yeah.
@@dodang_9147 i did not understand your point, speaking only on the major gods bonuses, oranos got wrecked, and since both kronos and oranos can choose prometheus, picking oranos makes almost no sense now.
@@charlatao_jogo Oranos has Atlas as mythic age god. Implode is extremely powerful god power for Altlantians but he also has Theias which is best heroic god. Oranos Minor god distribution is best for Atlantians.
He gets Prometheus in classic age. Prometheus is best god early on because his god power allow you to turn settler into heroes which makes it economic god power. He also has a extremely powerful tech that makes hero units regenerate health.
He gets Theias which has best myth unit for Alantians. the bird really does a lot of damage and is extremely lethal for sniping civilians.
Atlas is best god in mythic age. His implode is game-winning god power. Easily the power that you want recharge.
Kronos has Atlas and Promethus but he doesn't have Theisa. He gets lesser of good heroic gods.
Gaia does not have Promethus or Atlas. She only gets Theias. She does get Leto and Hekate. Hekate has tech where all Myth unit regenerate health. this is ok because it works on titans and it has synergy with automates that also regenerate health. Gaia trades having good gods powers for having strong myth units. She is more of defensive blooming god.
Oracles generating favour for Atlantean is a huge change. before they just shared the greek mechanic of praying at temples, but when they change a whole resource collection mechanic like that, it will take time to see if it fits the civ right. I expect many tweaks and adjustments in the coming months.
Also i doubt any Atlantean player is really worried about being rushed... they are the rushers... unless its Atty v Atty, in which case they will mutually rush eachother and will probably be a short game as a result.
As a long time Ra turtler, i can say the idea of Kronos rushing me with 2 Prometheans at age up, then with the clay upgrade, having to face a hundred offspring, sickens me to the core.
Atlanteans got favor through the amount of tcs originally not anything like the Greeks. The Oracle change is better
@@shanem8957 I mean im no atty player, but i played the Atlantean single player campaign, and they definately prayed at temples for favour bro. You have a point though, i never heard it explicitly stated how they got favour, but i never seen any atlantean citizens praying at temples in Multiplayer games, so your probably right.
@@Crysis051264 it tells you in game that they get favor through the number of buildings. You’re definitely mixing up the campaigns. There is one level in the atty campaign that has you protect overgrown temples so that might be the confusion

Oranos is actually pretty bad now. Like only 4 Sky Passages? Thats really shitty. Also what even is the advantage of +10% move speed on infantries only? Thats so underwhelming like horay your units can move a little bit faster how exciting.
Unit reveal for 25 seconds? Thats so uncreative and boring. So you can see them. And what? If youre getting raided by cavalry, theyll be out of your range anyway.
And Gaia losing her lush in most of her buildings is actually really stupid and dumb. People werent covering the map with lush, but now its actually useless. 1HP/second? Thats nothing. Zerg creep is better because you can spread it further and it benefits all your units. This is actually a shit change. Not to mention the lush was pretty aesthetic in the original AoM and now it looks like they threw up a bunch of slime on the ground.

Remember: in Greek mythology, Cronos ate his three children Zeus, Hades and Poseidon. Zeus later defeated him. So in AOM, Cronos will probably win against Poseidon and Hades and lose against Zeus 😂😮
Zeus did strike down Kronos but Kronos never ate Zeus only a stone wrapped in cloth.
His mother Rhae saved him, Gaia raised zeus
He did not eat his 3 children. He ate 5 out of his 6 children. Zeus was saved by his mother Rea and later he freed all of his 5 siblings and they defeated Cronos.

Chinese wont be there on release, they will be the first expansion. They said they are completely reworking the Chinese.
You are one of the best casters, but markets have been tranfered to 3rd age for all civs since the beginning of the beta.
