- Brian Hutchison playing Goiing Home on the bagpipes in an original WW1 trench. The people that own the property discoverd the trench and had it excavated so that people my walk through it.
Kind of symbolic with the children going over the top
Indeed. They're probably siblings.
Oof
Ironic
Go easy on the wee ones. For their innocence is why they fought to end the wretched war.
And to think they’re closer in age to the lads that died in those trenches than the man playing the pipes
The little children going over the top as the piper plays on.........
The Mister Pete Channel thankfully not into enemy fire. Unlike those poor bastards 100 years ago
Young Men Dying,While Old Men Are Fighting.
@@TheSinkingTitanic2 38 years old male, crying as I have lost dozens of relatives. Peace rules!
The irony
Very good bit of piping there sir...
Beautiful.
All trenches should be used for no more than a playground for children. Lest we forget.
Some people don’t deserve to go to certain places, they have zero respect and in 6 weeks they couldn’t tell u where they were even at..
Och Aye Piper..... 👍👏
Let’s hope never again
Symbolism
Wow thank you
Where is this? I wanna visit
All those men dyin for what...
For the sake of their country, their land, their civilization, for their nation, etc
So now children can play.
😭
Pity the chanter is tuned to today’s standards... the pipes sounded not so high Back in the war
This is why I never play publicly, or let anyone record it. There is ALWAYS a curmudgeon like this... that no matter how perfect, no matter how much it cost, no matter how much practice.. they can't simply appreciate the tune or the player for the moment... they simply can't help murdering the effort over some perceived "pity". You sir, are a worthless shrew of a man that didn't deserve this pipers least effort. The rest of us loved it, so pound sand.

RIP All Soldiers of All Nations of All Wars. May God bless every one of them and may their sacrifices never be forgotten.
Even the Nazis? and the Islamic State?
Despotic Waffle the German soldiers of the wehrmacht deserve to be honoured not the nazis.
Despotic Waffle you know the Islamic state don’t qualify as soldiers but insurgents and terrorist also most nazi soldiers didn’t know the bad things that there country did at the time because of the fact that Hitler controlled the radio and newspapers.
RIP For All Soldiers of All Nations, unapologetically so.
note the kids going over the top...
The symbolism wasn't lost on me. As I write this on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, we will never forget them.
The men went over the top 100 years ago so that 100 years later their kids could do so without worry.
@@edgarbanuelos6472 that's deep
Where children play now men died.
Historical re-enactments be like:
Strange seeing children playing in the trenches where the *children* went over the top 🏴❤️
Where children died children now play.
Sad thaught that's the last sound that heard before so many young lives where cut short
unfortunately as volume goes, shells > pipes
Youth goes off to fight because an old man told them
I wouldn't feel sad it's a hauntingly beautiful comforting last sound to hear as opposed to the alternative of hearing men dying around you instead
The men who fought here must of been watching them two kids go over, touching stuff this video
I can see it in my minds eye now. The ethereal forms of these men, watching the young ones. Hoping beyond hope that this time peace will stick. That no more young souls will be added to those ancient battlegrounds.
Probably they are the reincarnation of soldiers :cursed:
Hopefully those 2, probably family, will never face war.
It ended 100 years ago today
I'm a piper and that was excellent!
Oh bro he was play bagpipe from ww1 in battle of the somme
The sound pretty good
btw, beautiful. I got chills watching it. Thank you for posting and sharing
Go children go over the top brave troops
Omg the kids climbing over the top😂
Great job laddy....a day to refelect on the brave who. Never went home
Dvorak's 9th. Symphony going well on bagpipe ❤️
Many men died going over the top of trenches like these so that their children could go over the top without a care in the world. Respect to the defenders of all that is righteous and good!
poignant
- I'm looking for Master Yoda, a Great Warrior.
- Great Warrior? There is nothing great in war.
Where was this trench? I was just wondering because you said they allow visitors
This is Avril Williams "Ocean Villas” Guesthouse and Tearooms in Auchonvillers on the Somme. The tench runs through the property. There is also a very impressive museum there.
Brian Hutchison thanks, maybe one day I'll go there and pay my respects
Papa Hoovy........ give yourself a few days. Lochnagar Crater, Thiepval memorial, Ulster Tower, Contalmaison memorial, Beaumont Hummel trenches, etc., etc., etc., and cemeteries everywhere. Very moving experience.
Human stands in a hole and screams into a bag of air.
?
This place is so sacred!! Is it safe?
We’re is the teench
France.

well played!
I would have played "The Flowers Of The Forrest"
Those drones sound gorgeous!
Kids can play here? I find that a little unreal!!
The children fell into the ditch and only tried to get out
@@csypoygshovssutcgj9501 Then they ran to the Jerry trench!
Not many enlisted men got to see the trenches
Albert Tatlock ?????

This takes your words away.
