I grew up in a strict Christian house, my dad taught me how to fish but nobody in my immediate family was a hunter. I’ve always wanted to get into hunting but never had anyone to teach me. I’ve had to teach myself, and it’s been rough. Having people like you on here to teach are a blessing.

I'm just a really big fan and supporter of how you carry yourself and bring these videos to the people. When you talk about, "your opinion" and "not being a know it all," it really says a lot about you as a person. Keep the videos coming!
Also, I have a tip for y'all. I take out the tenderloins as soon as I gut the deer. I've noticed that if you do not, they're not as fresh and leave a hard film layer on them.

Good to see the ol’ Bone collector does it pretty much the same way I’ve done it for 30+ yrs. keep up the behind the scenes videos you think most people are not interested in because I think it’s actually exactly what us southern folks want. Like you said... great way to learn from others.

I’ve always deboned everything while it’s hanging vs quartering it. It’s much easier to debone hanging than a single shoulder or hind leg on a table I’ve found. Good video for sure though! Keep em coming Waddy!

As far as the Backstraps go, I always get the cut made up the spine center, then slowly getting the top peeling off with a knife and usually a good strong grip pulling on it will tear it apart from the rest of the carcass without a knife. I watched a girl do this one day using nothing but her hands curving around the ribs and spine and that is what taught me when i was younger.

I bet that sawzall smelled real good after a few days. LOL!!! I used my climbing chainsaw to cut off a head on a buck one time. Not thinking and locked it up in the tool box for a few days early season while it was still hot. I had that stinking chainsaw strapped to me climbing trees. Let’s just say that’s one mistake I only made once. LOL!!!

I learned from a friend to skin the deer while the body has some heat left in it (I live on the ny/pa border, 2 hrs south of buffalo). It was 14 degrees on opening day this year 2022. Typically we shoot em, get the buggy, gut em, run em back to the farm and skin them. Then go back to the woods for more.

Honest deer question. About to go on my first hunt. After you kill and field dress the deer and get it home. Do you quarter it immediately and throw it in the fridge and for how long?
I've heard you wanna cool it but not freeze it at 36-40 degrees but for how long? Does it matter if you keep the bones on when curing in a fridge?

After you quater deer, do you put in ice chest w/ ice. I know there are lots of controversy about icing a deer down vs dry aging. What are your thoughts
