- The TOWER OF LONDON, is a historic castle on the north bank of the RIVER THAMES of ENGLAND.
It was founded in 1066 as part of the NORMAN CONQUEST, and built by WILLIAM THE CONQUEROR in 1078.
The Tower was initially a resented symbol of oppression, inflicted upon London by the new Norman ruling class.
It has served as ROYAL ARMOURY, TREASURY, MENAGERIE, the ROYAL MINT, the RECORD OFFICE, and the home of the CROWN JEWELS of England.
The most infamous role of the Tower was used as PRISON, where prominent personalities have been tortured, or murdered.
The Tower has played a prominent role in the ENGLISH HISTORY.
Kings and Queens had used their power from here, shaping the English society and the world.
It was besieged several times, and controlling it has been important to controlling the country.
During the First and Second World Wars, the Tower was significantly damaged.
However, after the Second World War, damage was repaired, and the castle reopened to the public.
Today, in its splendour, the Tower of London is one of the country's most popular tourist attractions.
The White Tower was built by the Norman conquerors, and finished 1070.

I have în mind to create a video about 'The Dungeon', an infamous place, now museum, in London. It shows the way the prisoners were tortured in the medieval time.
