My Singing Monsters: Ethereal Workshop GarageBand Cover (Wave 5)

- Arriving a day late, the cover’s finally here! …well not late if it counts as being released on a regular MSM update day, wouldn’t it?
Not only we have two new monsters: the final triple, and the penultimate quad, but also a NEW VERSE! Further expanding the song’s length, and introducing Whaill’s (long awaited) 2nd track!
This cover took awhile, as this quad can kick some tail, nearly sending me straight to the Nether, and End simultaneously for how long it took me to recreate it.
With that said, enjoy the video, and happy monstering!
Wearing headphones is required for the best experience.
Updates:
-Added the final triple: Teeter-Tauter
-Added the penultimate crystal quad: Rhysmuth! (Not Rizzmuth…😅)
-Changed Flasque’s instrument
-Changed Pentumbra’s sound to be more balanced
-Changed the volume of X’rt’s sound.
Sounds used (for now):
Castle: Deep Moves Bass
Meebkin: Glimmering Noise, and Coffee Shop
Yooreek: Scream Bass
Blarret: Playful Melody
Gaddzooks: Modern TR-707
Auglur: Light Bulbs
Flasque: Star Power Bells 01 (sampled)
Nitebear: Corlandt Alley River Synth
Whaill: Transistor Choir
Piplash: Classic Clean
X’rt: Paisley Funk Bass
Teeter-Tauter: Popping Bits & Pitch Fall
Vhenshun: Pots & Pans, Chinese Kit, Synth Woodwind, Steam Train Horn 02, White Noise Sweeper 01
Pentumbra: Liquid Crystal, Girls Choir 01, and Scream Bass
Rhysmuth: Vintage Beats, Dark Space Pluck, Vowel Disintegrator, and Fat Synth Rhythm

You guys are absolute *NUTTERS!*
This video managed to be my first ever video to break 10K views, and it’s all thanks to all of you!
I doubt any of my future videos would achieve this anytime soon, but for the time being: this is probably my greatest achievement yet!😅
Thank you again to 10K+ of you for enjoying this video!
This cover is absolutely perfect. You did a great job with this one!
Thanks for this! I live this❤❤❤❤❤❤
Amazing! Proud of you for making this!!

STOP IT!!!YOU ARE BEING MEAN TO ME!💢😡😠😡🤬💢😡😠💢😠💢😠😡🤬😡🤬💢😠😠😠💢🤬💢🤬😡
Although its more accurate i lowkey prefer the old pentumbra
(That one legit sent shivers down my spine)
I never really thought that someone actually like the old Pentumbra sound I made!
It’s a start for me trying to figure out how to recreate Pentumbra’s sound, but when I listen to it a couple of times in the past, it sounded rushed, and messy to me, so that’s why I considered changing its sound, and having it a bit more balanced with the rest of the song. Especially for its 2nd track, where it strangely gets a bit too loud at the end of its track.
@Camphreneas that loudness is the best thing abt it tbh the track sound horrifying which is genuinely really good considering its the shadow quad, perhaps in your next workshop cover you can slightly bring back that 2nd track?
(Good cover as allways)
THERE ARE NO WORDS THAT CAN EXPLAIN HOW MUCH I LIKE THIS
YOOO THIS IS FIREEE!!!
This makes me think that Bandlab is worse than Garageband but im not so sure
@@thwok59
Each music program has its own flaws, and advantages over each other. Whether they have more instrument types over one program, or the accuracy of that instrument is better in the latter than the former, or even when it comes down to how simple, or complex it is to use that program to make compositions, but what matters the most is how the user uses these programs to its advantages, and come up with workarounds to dodge some of its flaws.
I could argue that FL Studio could be better than GarageBand, in terms of its larger library of sounds, and instruments to use, as well as better optimizations of a song than GB, or GarageBand is better for portability, and accessibility, making it easier for beginners to use. (I don’t have much knowledge on Bandlab, so I couldn’t really say much of anything about it, and compare it to GB, or FLS, or else that’d be unfair.)
Other than that, I’m surprised my dumb, silly, and greatly unbalanced covers manages to be “better” than Bandlab in some way.😅
@@Camphreneas Well FL studio is #1 like that's how the monster sounds are made. Bandlab does have a sampling feature which I use a lot but I don't know if garageband has a sampling feature but it probably does
@@thwok59
It does. I started to use sampling more in my covers lately since I’ve learned how to use it almost a year ago. (Hence one of my earlier videos of me learning how to use them. 😅)
With this, I also label the instruments I’ve used that are sampled, such as for Pluckbill, Thumpies, and most of the epic Wubboxes, just to name a few.
@@Camphreneas I'm an android user so I can only use bandlab so it's a shame that I can't explore garageband but I'm happy with bandlab
Rhysmuth is so good, crazy how quick you made this update im not looking forward to doing it
At least Rhysmuth is ‘somewhat’ easier to do than trying to do Sporerow & G’Joob on Mythical Island, which is why I’m able to get it in sooner than usual when it comes to tougher monsters, such as those two mentioned.
I do wish you the best of luck for yours!
How did you change the Meebkin noise?
@@CheerioGuy
I did some modifications to the main instrument I used for Meebkin to make it sound more closer to that of an angklung. I also used the automation settings to change the volume while the sound is playing, making its sound get quieter, then louder again as it plays for its 2nd track, close to that of how Meebkin’s 2nd track plays in-game.
What instrument did you use
@@videocanalef5637
Look in the description
Nice job man!
Whoah good job
This definitely needs good mixing. Some Monsters just sounds a little bit loud
Yeah, I figured this is hard to do, especially in the last verse.
If I try to end up making a monster quieter, it would be too hard to hear in the last verse, but sound loud on its own in other verses. Even for the ones I’ve made louder, it would sound balanced in some verses, but too loud.
It’s hard to find a sweet spot for these, especially when compensating for those with differing headphone/earbud qualities, or the speaker layout of various devices, or if the device only supports a certain speaker setting. (Mono, stereo, surround sound, etc.)
Why did you use the weird pitch fall for teeter-tauter?
I would use the party horn sampler for teeter-tauter
@@DaTruelyRealTeeterTauter
As far as I can tell, there’s no party horn sample for me to use from GarageBand’s Apple Loops library, so I had to make use of what I have without downloading any extensions that costs money, or use up all of my iPad’s storage to the point where it’s unable to save my GarageBand files, which could also result in lost progress, or some file wipes.
@@Camphreneas yes there is.
Go to the garage band keyboard sampler and go to library and you will find it
@@DaTruelyRealTeeterTauter
I’ve checked, but it’s not there.
It would be nice if you could tell me the name beforehand, so I know what, and where to look for.
Even then, there’s no guarantee that I may use it in a future video, but it’s still be a nice suggestion to have!
@@Camphreneas oh. You probably don’t have it.
Could i have the instruments??
They’re not my instruments, if everyone could use them in GarageBand. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Go ahead!
@@Camphreneas no i meant could i have the name of the packs

@@มดดี-ฉ5
The game is My Singing Monsters.
This isn’t gameplay of it, but rather me using an app called GarageBand.
i wish i knew how to make songs like this, i always get so inspired by songs like this but i can never figure out how to actually make the songs like this because all that comes up for me are loops and tracks. good work though!!
How’d you get the meebkin and Pentumbra sounds (and Rhysmuth)
The main instrument I used for Meebkin (Glimmering Noise) is altered to sound more accurate to an angklung. The shaker-like instrument for Meebkin’s tail(?) from the Coffee Shop drum kit is from the percussionists sound pack.
Pentumbra is a combination of three instruments, which all of them are already included in GarageBand by default.
Rhysmuth’s main instrument, Vintage Beats, is from the Vision and Verse sound pack, and is altered to sound close to that of the Amen Break drum kit, or whichever kit that is used for Rhysmuth. The other instruments used for Rhysmuth, Dark Space Pluck, and Vowel Disintegrator, are in different packs. (Backlight Bounce, and Transition Effects respectively.) Its last instrument, Fat Synth Rhythm, is already included. All of these instruments are modified, and combined to recreate Rhysmuth’s sound.
@@Camphreneas Thank you so much! (Didn’t list pentumbra’s instruments but I can figure that out)
@@baechl
The instruments are listed in the description for all the monsters, including Pentumbra!
Though, I didn’t take into consideration that some people would ask for the packs they’re in, and not just the instruments…so I didn’t even bother with those.😅
Even if I did, my iPad gets *INCREDIBLY* laggy when typing out long descriptions for some reason…
@@Camphreneas Oh, thank you! I’m trying to not use samples for monsters, so this was extremely helpful!
Nice
All of this sounds great! Meebkin and whaill were kind of surprising
Also: nitebear/auglur's verse could easily be a retro game song
How do you get more than one instrument in a song
You add an instrument with the “+” icon at the left sidebar.
You can’t add any more than 32 instrument layers in GarageBand.
@@Camphreneas I’m what section ? For example virtual instrements
@@EPICGHAZTPRO16
What do you mean by “virtual instruments?”
If you meant by the midi instruments, you use the midi keyboard for it, and choose an instrument you want to use.
@@Camphreneas I found it so you don’t have to worry about it
Wait
How did you do those slide notes on auglur?
Please answer
I need to know
I used the automation settings for the layer that Auglur’s on.
It’s useful to lower, or raise the volume of an instrument layer, and even “bend” notes if that instrument isn’t capable of allowing you to do so by default.
To do this: tap on the instrument you want to automate on the left side, select automation, and then you could add, remove, or bend points on the volume line in edit mode.
THIS IS SO UNDERRATED
Amazing ❤
