- Exploring an Abandoned Hospital in Illinois with Everything Still Inside After A Massive Fire. I'm not sure when it closed down and I almost fell through the ice in the basement.

Friend you really should wear a ventilator or _at least_ an N95 somewhere like this. Breathing in the air in a place where there's been a fire or has black mold from any water damage (which is common in many abandoned buildings) could be very harmful to your health. This is coming from me, a person who had excellent lungs until I was exposed to something harmful as an adult. Now my lungs will be forever scared and affected. :( Don't let your lungs become like mine!
Masks do help! Yes
@@hdbsmkalavshdhs she? He sounds masculine also why are you referring to hin as OP?
Black mold really isn’t something to worry about unless you are elderly or very young. You have to be exposed for very long periods of times to have any noticeable problems.
I can't believe there is so much stuff left behind. I wish I had the guts to explore abondaned place like this
There is a reason that firefighters in 9/11 had insanely high rates of cancer. Fires break down chemicals, materials, and release carcinogens. That is on top of the decay and mold in abandoned places without fires. You should really have a nice respirator on. Even your clothing will have had residue you can track into your house. I worked for four years at a fire department, and we were not allowed to wear our turnouts inside the station.
So weird to think that this used to be where people spent their day-to-day lives working, and now it’s this.
right!!!
Incredible stuff! Just saw a clip from tiktok and came here. I'll have to watch the rest of your vids. Also, really glad you're careful about this stuff, views are great and all but your safety is far more important. On that note, make sure you're wearing protective gear. It looks like you do already, but the more the better
Came from tiktok too 😂
@Brayden and Grace same
Balls of steel to be exploring these places alone 😄
omg ok I know I’m like a year late but 10:37 this is used for physical therapy :) people who are recovering from injury that impacted their motor abilities, namely to use their legs, use these as guide rails to walk across and relearn to walk! Super cool that there was still a ton of the physical therapy equipment there.
Ohh yeh I know!! I'm like wait there's an old school stander!!! In the same room as the bars! And I was thinking those tubs probably could have been hydro therapy tubs with a gait belt hanging! Soo much left behind!
I would have loved to see more of the frozen basement, if only it was more frozen you could have gone further into the basement.
I would’ve too but it wasn’t safe enough
For me, it’s amazing how all stuff is in hospital yet. In my country people will use this in their house.
Would love to explore some abandoned places. That basement was creepy as hell.
Gotta love how they left all that crap behind, but the bastards took all the mattresses to make sure anyone who tried to sleep there wouldn't be comfortable.
I didn’t even think about that 😢
You didn’t see the multiple mattress in some rooms?
@@mrredacted9326 ; All I saw was a couch in one of the offices. Other than that all I saw was springs.
To be fair it wouldn't be safe to breath in all the mold
@@alexh3726; If I had to choose between the mold or the snow I'd go with the mold.
i used to explore abandoned places when i was younger all the time, now i’m way too scared to. now i just live vicariously through you 🤣🤣
Wonder if any of that paperwork had dates on them!? Fascinating that time just stopped for that place with all the stuff there. Really really cool video!
I don't think I found a date. Would be interesting to know!
amazing explore mate! Scary ice at the end 😅
Glad I didn’t fall in 😅
I found you on instagram! I’m so excited to watch more of your videos!
I love your videos! Its so cool that you’re going to these places alone
Love this video man! I found it on your TikTok page.
Some of the items/ rooms still look good, some look decayed so bad. 😳
Came across your vids on instagram. Great stuff! Subbed, keep it up!
Just found this video. That white thing that says ironright in is is an old iron that was used to fast press sheets in days before fitted sheets were used.
If you ever come to NW North Dakota, there's a LOT of abandoned stuff out here. Frozen in time, some from the 80s and some from the 30s
Your reels on Instagram made me curious and I had to come here and watch your video, that's crazy hahah
Would be such a bonus if you had a remote control cam to explore the basement - so cool!!
A little rc car would’ve been perfect
How do you find all these places? I'm addicted watching your video's.
They’re everywhere
I came from a video in instagram and I am amazed, I love this video, you are fearless ahahah I would be very scared to visit this place
One of my friends tried to go after me and was too sketched out hahahah
Great footage
Found this from tik tok that frozen basement was so creepy wish we could have seen more but the whole time I was thinking get the hell out of there man!
Hahahaha I would’ve explored the whole thing if it was frozen enough to support me
Absolutely addicted to your videos dude 😂✌🏻 like I wish I could join you in exploring these places. Do you have any room on your team for a guy from South Africa?
Thank you! It’s just me for now
Came here from your tiktok. That ice!
Just saw your tik tok on Reddit & now subscribed to watch more!!
My TikToks on Reddit no way!!!
17:03 I’m pretty sure that was a twd reference xD
Great vid
Thank you
Woah I cannot believe you walked out on that ice in the basement…
I was hoping it was completely frozen so I could finish the explore
Omg we had those exact same encyclopedias when I was a kid 🙁
Illinois Tyrant Patrol sent me. We live close, I might join ya on a hike sometime 😉
@10:50 those bars are used to help rehab the lower body and guide you with walking again
Ohhh nice!
Agreed David it was either a hospice or rehabilitation center care home judging by the pads left behind. In December last year my grandma entered a care center after heart failure (her heart stopped but they brought her back) I visited her once and it reminds me of this place. Sadly though after she was released she came back home and was in at home hospice care. She passed away on February 7th. Her funeral was on March 4th she was 97.
@@deathbycake7637 sorry for your loss
@@decayingmidwest tyvm, she lived a good and long life.
It gives me Reindents Evil vibe tbh 😅
Also, why did they left everything there? I dunno how bad the situation was but they could use some of the stuff there like chairs, desks etc.
I was waiting for the Ratking to go barging out at you.😁
0:25 it looks like a Pitney Bowes Automatic Mailing machine
All these nursing home/rehab centers looks the same. Pretty neat
19:55 that's so scary☠️
I feel so bad for the stuff that is left behind.. It could be really useful somewhere else…
Sick!
Was this the old St Maragets Medical Center that closed in Peru/LaSalle IL?
0:26 it's a fax machine 😂
Idk why these are so interesting lmao can’t stop watching
Whoa…
I feel like I'm in The Last Of Us here. Amazing.
"Okay, it's not that frozen..." 😅
Looks to me to be like some sort of a rehab type hospital.
Came from tiktok!
so cool! im here from tiktok
Welcome!
At 18:57 that Ironrite is a clothes press. It's a giant iron. I think my mom called it a mango. She wanted one. We bought two at different places. Neither of them worked. I never saw one in action.
This is so cool. How does it smell though?
Doesn’t really smell when it’s frozen
Is therr any way I could dm you? I used to go exploring regularly but haven’t gone in a fee years. I miss it so much. Alternatively, are there any other buildings in northern Illinois that I might want to check out myself?
I don't give out locations to prevent vandalism and theft
Bro the couch looks good
I’m from your Tiktok!
Hey!
Welcome to Alchemilla Hospital 😆. 👍🏼
That looks like a money counter at the beginning. They may have been burning books to get rid of something👀
It was probably a squatter trying to stay warm, honestly.
1:27 the writing 😂
Zion IL..interesting
i wanna have one of those in wall ac's
Looks to be more of a nursing home than hospital
Maybe
I'm a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) & have been in a few nursing homes and the older ones look pretty much similiar to this.
Yeah this definitely feels more like a nursing home than a hospital
That 1st think you didn't know what it is was a label printer.
The thing at the beginning is a postage machine
Cool!
Sigma!👏
What part of Illinois is this hospital?
Whats the name of the hospital?
Where did all that water come from any idea?
rain coming in through the busted windows and going to the basement
Some of it may have come through broken windows and holes in the roof but I imagine the majority of it flowed down into the basement from the firefighting efforts (firefighter hoses and sprinkler system) and never had a way to drain 🤷♀️
This is by my house I go there everyday
Look like sprinklers wasn't working at all, either negligent or deliberate? 🤔
Imma guess negligent. Most places didn't have very routine checks of safety precautions
IT Said there: "Demons Beware...Closer..."
And later IT Said:"Death🙂"
honestly this would be even cooler with Here We Are from Undertale. also 157th comment
What is the name of the hospital. I’m interested to look into it
I won’t say to prevent theft or Vandalism. I do it with all locations until they’re demolished
@@decayingmidwest Oh, that makes sense. I loved the video and will for sure continue to watch more!
I hope the residents & staff made it out alive (that looked like it was a pretty intense fire w/ some pretty heavy smoke in most of the resident's rooms).
i think it's the old copley hospital of aurora
@@v3nzy they used Copley hospital for the t.v show E.R actually. Hospital almost killed my daddy back in the 80's hated that place!!!
Empty means no bodyz
why was it frozen?
It’s winter
I found you from tik tok
Welcome!
rip lil peep 5:30 lmfao
You went here alone ?!? 😳😳
Yes
id take the hard drivers outta pcs
The breathing noise 🥴
Came here from tiktok and did not regret
Did you said this was a hospice?
I think so
@@decayingmidwest thank you because I saw a lot of things that indicated this was a former hospice. Or care facility. Anyway, weren't you creeped out standing on the ice? I like your channel and I subbed glad you didn't fall into the ice.
@@deathbycake7637 I thought it was frozen enough and took it slow! Thanks you!
@@decayingmidwest you're welcome and as long as you didn't see a face staring up at you haha
@@decayingmidwest it's ok main thing you came out of that place uninjured.
Do you just go there by yourself? Lol I would of never gone in there if I wasn’t with sim
Yes it was creepy
@@decayingmidwest I bet it was creepy thanks for the heart!
so we all came here from that clip from tiktok or what 😭
Do not walk on ice.
Narrator describes the obvious..right here is a toilet!
if you're here from tiktok
Welcome
POV you came from that tik tok
Welcome!
I died at 1:25
LOL
Why are you breathing so loud bro
Bc I need to lose weight
The heck kind of question is this??? 🤔
