16:38 I belive it's a cerimonial staff and not an axe. Nasus is a schoolar strategist not a fighter. Altho, with 38 centuries of studying war he came to the conclusion that "Bonk small things to later bonk BIG things" is the best way to win.
16:50 Uuuuummm actually🤓 Nasus's weapons is inspired by two different sources, the first and the most obvious one is a was sceptre which is basically just to represent power, set and anubis carry it as well as pharaos. And the other one is a classic battle axe used in the ancient egyptian army.
I'm really enjoying these videos that aren't 'stream highlights' as I feel we get to understand more of your thought process behind each decision. Of course the stream highlight videos are always entertaining but I'm finding these videos great for personal improvement of gameplay!
16:38, I don't know much about medieval weaponry but it kindof looks like a distorted battle axe en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_axe, and I always thought the point of having grooves/gaps like that are to either: a) Save metal when crafting the blade (because a "full" blade isn't necessarily stronger, just heavier) b) Improve the aerodynamics of the weapon Basically, I think it's similar to having fullers on a sword en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuller_(groove) If anyone actually knows and corrects me please do so~ Edit: Check comments for replies from more qualified commenters TL;DR: It's probably aesthetic
I hate to be an "Ummm actually 🤓🤓" type, but as an engineering major, I dont think those are the reason, one, the gap in the axe blade would cause a stress concentration and basically just make it prone to cracking, which is not what you want when you want to hit things hard Secondly aerodynamics isnt much of a factor at all in weapon performance, at least not as much as weapon weight/balance So yeah I have no idea why thats his choice of axe blade
At 50:44 you mention that Aurok Glinthorn's attack ability of "stun all damaged allies" pops spellshield--this is incorrect as it's an instant on-attack ability that goes through spellshield (like Sejuani's or Swain's on-proc effects).
I've been playing a probably less optimal version with Veigar in the 4 slot over dragon and more Hibernating Rockbears instead of the 5 drop to intentionally stop the climb between 4 and 6. Usually I have a rockbear or nassus to restart the climb and veigar is a must answer with Dess looming.
6:20 passage is to counter samira monkeys I think? I've been blown out by it a few times into my powder pandemonium, but I honestly think I still won those games. That card has always seemed better in concept than in execution
Stops monkeys , norra , tentacles , and I believe darkin weapons flip side. There are a few rogue things it also stops here and there like soul cleave. It is a good one of if you can spare the space.
@@drewwirsching3865 Didn't consider portals, that prob feels pretty good if you can hit it. But yeah, I've run into it as a 2-of and my monkeys would be very grateful if they'd cut back to 1
Passage is such a good card with all the summons and stuff. Shits on norra so hard and it is a one of in a slot that is super flexible. Are the darkin weapons summons ? Oh tentacles are also summons Can't forget the monkeys either.
I’m playing bandlewood/Asol atm and I have absolutely no struggle against this deck. Run 3 Copy’s of Sun Burst and always evoke for Comet and your good to go.
16:44 if Shadiversity taught me anything it would be that in melee fighting disarming your opponent is huge, and it looks almost like a hook so maybe it's meant for that ?
The Reason it's T1 is because most of the meta is extremely aggro with Samira decks, and since control isn't so easily accessible anymore such as Vile Feast to drain 1 and summon a spider for a free blocker, nerfed si control, and many control cards rotated, it makes sense. Since vs Vaults of Helia you either have to never let them have a unit on board, or you can develop your board state. There is just not enough mana to go around to do so effectively unless you're playing Targon w/ Sunburst and Invoke for Obliterating Metoers to stop Nasus from getting revived.
Have a question.... New to the game... I already had 3 card of nasus in hand... And a rockbear in with vault since it should get taken and gave me nasus but didn't why? As I understand rockbear is 5 mana and nasus is 6 .. Then why didn't I get it?
@@jake4179 It still functions, it just doesn't get summoned at game start. That said, even if it sees Azir and Nasus leveling, it still needs 6 rounds on the board to count down. Does not sound like it would ever reach 0.
Would be a shame if you maindeck 3 natural landmark removals lmao. Funny how anyone who faces me with this deck just surrenders after i destroy their landmark haha

I would have not have guessed Glory's Call would be competitive :o
You and me both
I swear everyone thought the Glory's Call buff wouldn't change anything
A card that draws over powered stuff who would have thought.
i mean the emperors deck cards are by far the most broken cards in the game. was only a matter of time
That buff is what makes the current mono Shurima not feel as meme without Xerath.
It's really nice to watch your thought process between the turns.

to be fair this is a game with gods and conscious constellations I think they made it to be aesthetic rather than practical
it looks like fancy version of Egyptian battle axe

@@MassouD97 forgot about those.
Damn there is alot of shit to hit.
i've been running a similar version ever since I saw the glorys call buff, cool to see it thrive

Unexpectedly, that unicorn drip healing has completely changed Asol's viability.
@@Hahahahaaahaahaa So true
God why are all the cool asf decks meta when I'm too busy to play
Ikr😢
Does anyone know why I can't use Deck Codes anymore even tho I definetly copied the Codes?
did the recent nerfs killed this deck or is still good to climb?

I was soo sure we were gonna lose that last game to karma + seraphine + some fourth bar shenanigans
Im not confident about Majins historical knowledge after he said "medieval egypt" 💀
I mean Egypt did exist then, but not really at its peak...
This deck got me to masters for the first time. Went 16 and 3

You had all of you 6 cost units in hand so it cannot grab one from the deck
Thank you
Can confirm, this deck is so busted if you can get your vault up and survive.
I was just looking to play with this deck
They need to reword glory's call. That effect is misleading. I wouldn't have thought that synergy would have worked until I tried it 😂
Hear me out...what if you put sun disk as a one of?
Hear me out: theres SI cards in this deck

Atrocity-less tier 1 Nasus certainly wasn't on my rotation bingo card.
What about veigars
Okay now please do a video on a deck that’s good against this deck and against Bandle Swarm because I am STRUGGLING
Nasus Vault was my hipster deck, now everyone is going to play it :(
You can always say you were into it before it was cool
I dunno what's wrong with this deck but I've got 200 lp with this under a couple games. The landmarked unit with vault is just a nuts, NGL.
god that donger player tried so hard to stop you. Solid effort
Karma deck is always been the bane for nasus slay, on top of karma deck always being broken
I watched the whole video
azir? AZIR???? Now all we need is renekton buffs and my ascended decks can finally be runnable
You know how to make me click on a lor video man
HOW CAN I STOP THIS!? I KEEP PLAYING AGAINST IT I CSNT BEAT IT I ONLY WIN WITH RYZE SOMETIMES

Super easy to counter though
This deck needs a nerf next patch, it's overplayed.
And Sett Karma is still annoying deck
No shit
I wish there was a way to play this game in person SO BADLY, but I just cant enjoy online tcgs :(
