After losing my wife, and severe depression, I bought my dream car. A perfect and hyper rare 91 trans am convertible, the passenger seat will forever be a ghost. But man, I feel this song so hard, car runs perfect on those sunset summer nights by the coast. People often say, I haven't seen you smile in years. Thanks Marren, the vibe is beautiful.
My sincerest apologies go out to you for your loss 💔😭🙏 this is my only fear in life, to lose my partner, so I CANNOT imagine the pain you've experienced having to go through this. I'm so proud of you for finding some form of comfort in the little things again though to help you heal 💞🤗💞 you have immense strength to keep on keeping on through this life, and that's so inspiring 💯 here's to the 2 of you being reunited in Heavenly happiness again someday and cruising down those streets of gold in your 80s Mercedes! 🚘🥲🥂😇
Clever music production: 80s Mercedes = 80s sequencing; 90s baby = 90s radio/acoustic sound of the day. This is how/why this song -- even though is country -- can play in any genre that can use the 80s style sequencing. A+++ for production. She can play in pop; house; trance any music genre out there and fit right in.
Its 2024 and I'm just now discovering Maren. I don't know if its because i stopped listening to country years ago or what but I've been missing out for sure!!❤
This is so good. Marren's music is so silky and smooth. I usually cringe at "country" music that tries to be this poppy but it just works. It's got a country vibe but is modern enough to sound fresh and appeal to the audiences of this time. I want new music from her right now.
I think 90s baby in an 80s Mercedes was one of the greatest songs because it just shows you they were two great years the 90s and there were the more greater year than when yours truly is Robert Franklin Hulsey Robert Lee holy James Albert Douglas Junior who makes cabinets Douglas yourself is it WCW MCW happened in the 90s in the 80s with the greatest 1993 are the blizzard is my bird this is the greatest thing that happened this are you pushing the table
My grandma has dementia and can no longer drive. Today she signed over her 1990 Corvette to me. I was born in 1992, so this song applies to me for sure. Although I listen to more hard rock and rap, I can relate. I remember her buying it years ago when I was getting ready to graduate high school. I never thought it would be mine. I’m going to get it running so I can take grandma to some car shows and cruise ins.
I found this song by mistake while browsing through latest music videos, and although I usually don't listen to this genre of music, I was instantly in love with this song, particularly because I too am a 90s baby in my 80s Mercedes :)
Maybe, but I just feel like this is a song about feeling good about being a 90s baby. To each their own though. That's what music is right? That universal shit.
I'll never forget on August 12th 2020 when I got my 918 83 Mercedes I was born in 1993 and having a 1983 Mercedes was the coolest thing in the world so yes I am a 90s baby cruising around in my 80s Mercedes and I challenged I dare anybody to tell me that the 90s cannot smash with the classics like in 80s
I might be a 90s baby but I don't have an 80s Mercedes, I have a 70s Beetle, and he's perfect. This song resonates so much still with him! "still runs good, built to last" "ain't made for practicality" "turning every head, hell, I ain't even trying"!!!!!
To anyone who loved their first car, this song will bring back the memories! Mine was a 1980 Jeep CJ, so many memories were made running around in that thing! Wish I'd never sold it...
Dude, my first car was a 1979 CJ-7, lol! Loved that Jeep. I've driven Mercedes for 26+ years, and I have a step-daughter who was literally a 90s baby in her 80s Mercedes. Still miss that Jeep!
95 Jeep Wrangler 4 speed. Driving to Ocean City Maryland in the summers ☀️. Sold it when my daughter was born. Found it was totaled a few years ago. I still have a set of keys 🔑 to it.
whoever directed this music video deserves a Emmy. I loved everything that was in the video. I wish the sky was like that in real life. Great Job, Maren Morris!!! I LOVE you!!! 😘
Happy that somebody's giving the 80s the props it deserves. This song and video totally lives up to its name with the Vice City style neon colors, and the car's got a tape player!

***** It's pretty pop sounding. A few of Gaga's new songs are a bit more country, yet are played on normal stations. I was going through some stations I didn't normally listen to. I heard this song and didn't realize it was country radio!
***** I only read your first few sentences (since the rest is scarcely worth reading). As I literally just said before, Lady Gaga has had a few country songs that have been on pop radio, so this song would fit in just fine. Whether or not you like her music doesn't matter. It's been labeled as country. Why are you so emotional about the genre labeling of music?
***** You listened to absolutely nothing I said. 98% of Gaga's music is pop, but her new song Million Reasons is clearly country-pop. I'd be interested to see what you think of it.
I reckon you're right Jacks. It's getting harder to differentiate between genres these days. I don't think that's a bad thing. I think it's important to maintain diversity in your craft, particularly if you are a contemporary musician and are seeking a wider audience. To some extent though, it does make labeling and classifying music quite difficult. And don't worry mate, country songs are finding their way onto all formats of radio here in Australia, as are other forms of music now being played on country radio. This makes it hard to tell which station you are on, so I can fully sync with your comment. It's a top song though, regardless of how it is labeled or what genre the artist and listeners consider it to be.
I had an 83 S class Turbo Diesel Mercedes from the time I was 16-20. Born in 85 but this song reminds me of my younger years so much! Love it! Totally plan on getting a Benz again one day! That thing was a tank and I still see it around from time to time.
I’m a Michigander that travels for a living. I had a three year job out in Southern California that I visited three weeks or more every month. Man she was so much fun, lost contact a couple years ago. I miss you, stayci

Man I love listening to this! I grew up with a single mom and 2 older sisters, so I learned to be the man of the house at the very early age, and also, sometimes you just gotta shut up and listen, and be sensitive, and sometimes you gotta get in touch with your feminine side! It's a wonderful thing!

Such a cringe comment
I was born 1989. Close enough to the 90. I like really like this song.

Sheena Easton did her early songs that way, too, like her lone U.S. number 1 hit "Morning Train (Nine to Five)"

Sounds like a song that will be timeless and still hold up twenty years from now .
Timeless just like Mercedes from 80's 😜

"still runs good, built to last" " you can try but the benz is hard to beat" the best car lyrics in any music genre!

this song gives summer vibes
I graduated in the mid 80's admiring Mercedes Benz cars. I think it's a fun song.

Maren Morris is such a talent! Young with such an old soul. She’s here to stay. Love, love, love all her songs!👍
