    Great videos. Helped me clean ca. 100sq m block pave driveway. Would be good to see some additional videos on how to deal with oil stains (cleaning with turbo nozzle doesn't help at all as one might expect) without replacing blocks.

    • @DirtyDriveAway
      @DirtyDriveAway  7 років тому +1

      Paweł Halicki hey, I haven't done an oil stain removing video as they are a nightmare to shift properly. I haven't found a 100% removal method without replacing blocks. It really all depends how long the oil has been down. Even on specific oil removing products it normally says for best results use within a few days of spill. Most of the stains we come across have been down months or years. You will normally remove the dirty colour by using some good ol fairy liquid and then hitting with a turbo nozzle. Resiblock OR is pretty good if the oil stain is recent. Other than that the oil soaks into the block to far to make any serious difference. I would say that there will always be a visible mark left as the blocks are quite thick and oil can penetrate quite deep over time. I bet if I true doing a video of the removal wouldn't work lol. Phill

    • @llohcire
      @llohcire 6 років тому

      I find for more recent oil stains you can use cat litter, crush it in to the stain and replace a couple of times soaks it up prety good. Then wash.

      If you applied a decent sealer you wouldn't loose the sand next time. It will also help against weeds. Next time will be a simple clean, spray some swimming pool grade chlorine bleach on beforehand and it practically cleans it for you.

    • @leewalker9008
      @leewalker9008 2 роки тому

      @@DirtyDriveAway which sealer do you recommend and do you use this before sanding or after?

    • @DirtyDriveAway
      @DirtyDriveAway  2 роки тому

      @@leewalker9008 something like smartseal is easier to use than a polyurethane such as resiblock. Resiblock will last longer but is very finicky with weather. You clean it, wait 5-7days (no rain 48hrs prior to and 12hrs after application) sand it and seal same day. Make sure the sand is brushed in and swept off really well.

    I find table salt stops weeds and moss 100% for at least eight months. Only 80p per 3 kg bag from tescos . I just sprinkle it liberally and then lightly sprinkle with the hose so the grains can just sit in the cracks and slowly dissolve through the winter. No need for weedkiller.

    • @DirtyDriveAway
      @DirtyDriveAway  6 років тому +2

      Glitch King Glitch King hi, you can spend hours researching washers. Ideally something with a good engine like honda or briggs, a good interpump pump and gearbox. You would ideally need something around 200bar+ that kicks out around 18lpm+ it really depends on your budget. A 200bar 18lpm machine will come in around £1600 ish. Go up in pressure and you will be looking around £2200, but go 250bar and 23lpm will set you back around £3000. Van size i have a LWB transit connect and i can get a 400l tank and all my gear in. Anything smaller and it just wont fit a water tank in as it wont be long enough or have the payload to carry the washer and water plus hoses etc. Phill

      Karchers version, I have used one. But not on block paving. The nozzle I use is either a Suttner or PA but don't think they can be adapted or won't work on a Karcher as a Karcher isn't powerful enough.

    • @DirtyDriveAway

      Lorraine Reeves Going from a karcher to what I use would be like going from a mini to a lamborghini lol. I use a zeta, briggs and Stratton engine, the washer alone costs £3000. The Lance I use in the video has a PA turbo nozzle on it. They are not expensive but they won't work on a Karcher. It would be cheaper to have a professional maintain it for you.

      @@DirtyDriveAway would you seal after, any point?

    • @DirtyDriveAway
      @DirtyDriveAway  2 роки тому +1

      @@jacobthebear problem with sealing is the bloody weather. Yea it can help with weeds etc but doing it properly is expensive. Spraying with a good sprayer is best to ensure good joint penetration but at a sacrifice of using additional product. In this day and age where everything is silly money its not very cost effective. Looks nice and does really help weeds but by the time you add on that cost most customers refuse. It can be a Ballache because it needs to be fully dry or it won't set properly and can leave white blooms. Typically sealer company's recommend 5-7days after cleaning. As a professional cleaner in honesty it probably costs me money as I inevitably have to turn other work away or it puts me under pressure if the weather turns to get it done.
