That was dramatic Steve, glad you sorted it. Leak test always important, used to do that on Breathing Apparatus in the Fire Service, simple but a MUST practice, well done mate, now a happy bunny 😉👍👍
I like the BGM gaskets with the built in sealant (for the mag and the engine case) they fit nicely and seal better, plus the material they use seems to be a plastified paper.
Recently done the same build, UNI mag housing etc. The moment you said it was leaking I thought bet it's from around the mag housing, had the same only I hadn't used enough sealant. Used one of the Broadhurst reusable mag housing gaskets which come in different thicknesses and won't break so easily as they are a rubbery kind of material
Hi. Mr. Steelweasel , I find your vifeos very interesting. Your approacch is very inspiring. . Do you have a long waiting list of work to be done Or din't you. Take on outside Jobs I'm learning a lot watching your videoz. But my knowledge is ancientm. Back in 70's and 80 's I used to do work om LAmbrettas.. Things sure have changed since then Anyhow.. keep up the great videos.. Cheers eddie
Might be a good idea to test a dry bolt to 20 nm and then see how far it angle torque until it hits 24nm .... then I can angle torque the greased bolts more accurately
I'm sure he knows his stuff - but - when bolting into ally I would rather just feel how tight it is rather than use a torque wrench . Each thread may react differently and you can feel when it's home . Also , any grease may boil off with the heat , could just leave alone or could use thread lock .
Well done, the patience of a saint!!
I've had mine built with a Suzuki piston and TV rodded 60mm crank. It's a reyt beast.

Yep I used black bgm beaded gasket that failed ? Now have green from bgm looks like they have had problems and changed materials.

When you grease the threads you should reduce the torque on those bolts, -20% at least. You can end up over tightening and strip them.
Yes your absolutely right my mistake . It had crossed my mined when they where taking more to pull down .

This is the kit I fancy..
The tr195 kit I am building one of the head bolts not studs sheared clean off at 14 Newton metres.
Yep I was getting nervous my self with that last bolt mate .....
Very nice bro👍

I think yiu're abroad aren't you. It'd be a lot in postiing ??
👍
Do you prefer this kit or the mugello for fast touring
I would go mugello for the extra ports and power

I was going to say…. He didn’t show the decompression port! Haha…dear me
