Fly had more respect for black youngsta tho remember seeing fly with youngsta doin interviews damn nere 8 years ago while youngsta was wearing one of them M chains Probly all giving him life advice
Playa fly got me through high school. When I met him for the 1st time at a show with my boy Joe Green. It was like meeting one of my idols. Fly had Atlanta bumping for a long time. If we had shit like UA-cam back in the day. Fly would of been a MEGA star. On a international level.
I'm from D.C. and in 97 I moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. At the time there was this kat from Memphis that I was cool with, he put me on to Playa Fly. I went to Memphis before I moved back to D.C. in 98 just to get a taste of the City. As soon as I got back to D.C. I put everybody I knew on to Fly. R.I.P. Bill Chill
Fly had a harder presence as a individual artist than most groups from Memphis....Fly style was different he wasn't all the way with the dumb ish he was actually intelligent and informative with his lyrics....I believe some of his recognition fell through due to personal issues which probably fueled alot of his content in hus music...never the less he has made his mark in the industry and has the catalog to prove it
Memphis, TN hip hop deserves alot of credit for their music. It's just not right that they don't get the recognition that they deserve. So many rap legends out of Memphis, TN and it's a slap in the face that they been overlooked and disrespected of the music.
Man I'm from Mississippi and we been bumping Fly since the mid 90's and I still listen to all his music til this day in 24. Fly is a legend down here in the South. Music still go hard.
Fly.....you a legend!!!! Appreciate all the realness throughout the years. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. Long live Dolph!!!! Fly high in Heaven!!!
Damn right Memphis is a city. I'm from and here now. Home of the blues, Memphis Grizzlies, bar bq, Elvis Presley, Aretha Franklin, BB King, we say main, y'all say man. Hustle and Flow done here, 36 Mafia, young Dolph, PLAYA FLY, 8 ball and MJG, etc. Etc research this joint
Maneee I really appreciate his appreciation for Dolph picking the phone up when he was tired asf on the other side of the globe. Salute the Playa Fly!! RIP THE KOM YOUNG DOPLH 🙏 🕊🕊🙏
@moses Cambridge Rappin 4 Tay was out way before Playa Fly. I’ve been listening to rap since 94. I’ve been bumpin 3 6 since 8th grade. I fucks with Gangsta Pat and Tommy Wright. I’m not familiar with Playa Fly.
I really do wish all memphis rappers would come together and make memphis greater than it has ever has or what about a memphis hee haw but ghetto hee haw it would be phenomenal because us memphians love to joke and check folks 😝
Got introduced to playa fly music in 2000 when I went to UofM my freshman year. Being from Texas, at the time I only knew of 3 six Mafia and 8 ball. But all my UofM teammates from the Memphis area put me on to some of the local street rappers and the Memphis "jookin" culture. I got hooked on it and still till this day I listen to playa flys "feel me" and watch jookin videos.
Fly been my favorite and always be one of my fav. Mane him, 3-6, Lord Infamous, Project Pat. I know Zed and his folks. This is what I grew up on. I hate Memphis took Dolph but we do have greats from this city that a lot of people forget about. These are the people who made the way for folks like Dolph, Money Bagg, Key Glock. Give these men the props they deserve, bc if it wasn't for them we probably wouldn't have heard of Dolph, Gotti, and the rest of em.
@Edward Marshall facts. Not knocking what MJG did, but they really didn't get hot until Texas/Houston put they Thang on it. Even then 3-6 had been jumping way before them, when they was still called Prophet Posse. A lot of folks dont realize 3-6 and them been in the game a long ass time. Hell I forget to mention Skinny Pimp. He was bumping too.
Mjg and 8 ball was hot before they went to Houston. Yes Tony Draper helped give them the exposure they needed but that's what labels do. If I'm not mistaken those beats were from the brother out of Memphis if I'm not mistaken. T- mix and probably one or two others but I believe it was mainly him. Those first three albums they dropped were all Memphis production being made in Houston.
Ima give my boy Fly his flowers now. One of the Kings of Memphis. No cap. Been a fan since Fly Shit 💪🏾💯🤞🏾
