Think all those BG’s you were catching wanted to check out a great looking combo! Thanks for the video!
Hi Viktor, the finger-on-blank thing is for sensitivity on spooning and cranking in area settings where hifgh sensistivity is needed. Rod came up for area trout use, so that's why
I don't believe that. I don't believe that putting finger there gives u more sensitivity (1). And i don't believe this is the reason Daiwa is doing it (2). I think daiwa is doing it because this rod is very expensive but not very light, and if they extend this metal handle another inch it will add 2-3 more grams of weight to the rod.
The bend of the new Presso rod was definitely an unexpected surprise, and with every boat flip you made me cringe. Hope you and your family stay safe and warm, snowing here now in NE TN and the arctic cold air is following close behind. Enjoyed the video catches as always.
Thanks, Stan! I work from home so i'll be fine : ). My poor wife has to drive : )
Thats some awesome action on that rod!
Really interesting that you mentioned the good old 60$ presso has a somewhat similar behavior when fighting the fish.
Wondering if any other high-end jdm stuff feels like that rod.
Great video as always!
the action.. bending everywhere...The $60 presso is a very nice rod to play fish with
Another well explained and entertaining video produced by the one and only folks👌🏾. That black on black is one of my favorite confidence baits to put in their face🎣
No ice just yet man. Still on the perch bite. Temps just dropped as of lastnight. -9 degrees right now and in the negative for the next week so far. Man nothing looks better than that black bg black larvaZ combo. Makes me want to bite it myself 😁
@@panfishin-fool8057 I'm telling you, after watching these things for 6 month on livescope... nothing beats them when fish are shy or suspicious
@ifishcatfish I don't have live scope. But I can only imagine man.
When I use them up here everyone's wondering what i'm Throwing at them lol 10 fish to there 1 and they're using live bait
@@panfishin-fool8057 live bait really limits how u can fish... u can't jig it properly cos it will fall off.. they u are stuck holding it in one place and thats not good. The only place i would use live bait is ice fishing, But if I can jig, i want me some plastics!
very nice set ups
I use the same setup for my anchor rope that you do. Great minds think alike I guess 😊
beats the pants off trying to organize anchor rope on your boat. That thing is always tangled up if not on a reel!
That bluegill hit your rod move that insane it might be a super ultralight
Please work your magic and make a similar budget rod for your store. Looks amazing along with the perfect action!
I have thought about that but need a lot more customers to start making rods.. People are afraid to buy 2 packs of jigs to try them... how many will buy a rod?
@@ifishcatfish that's true. I'm sure lures, jigheads and other accessories are more than enough to deal with.
@@jimpeterson3806 i want to do it, to be clear, but i have to order 500 rods, and i will never sell that with current membership
Thanks for all the hard work sharing your passion. Bought a St Croix LEP 6' rod and a Vanford 1000 reel. The reel is a little light at 150G. Would you recommend a reel for the LEP? Was hoping for a Vanquish or maybe a Twin Power. Something high end. The reel weight you suggested in the LEP review would indicate a Vanquish 2500s which is maybe a little big? Also need a new rod for the Vanford 1000. Open to almost anything in the $300 range or less. Could be JDM, Presso, etc. Just looking to balance a rod with the 150G Vanford. Thanks for any help.
I have a Luvias 2000 on that rod since forever and feels great with it. Its close to 160 grams with line. But i used to have a 180 gram Caldia on it and it felt great too.Dont put 2500 size reel on that beautiful rod. There is nothing wrong with using 2500 on budget rods because they have huge guides and the reel doesn't look out of size, but on that rod i would stay with 1000 or 2000 size.
As for rod for Vanquish, i would go to Olympic Rods, and look at their new Corto and Belezza models, from Prototype to UX..
Grateful for the reply. have learned much from you and this little UL community. it is inspiring.@@ifishcatfish
Hi I_fish. I'm considering getting the 21 luvias airity 3000 soon, was wondering what ur thoughts on the reel was and how it compares to the 20 luvias, 23 airity.
i have reviews of both reels, in detail. Of course the Airity is a much better reel. Airity is NOT a luvias.
good stuff
How to you work micro jigs with bobbers? Do you twitch or u let it sit or what’s the best way?
if u fish from boat and can see where the fish is, cast close but not on top of them, and slowly twitch it in. If u fish from bank and don't know where the fish is, as soon as it sinks, start slowly moving. No point in waiting in one place, especially without wind. But when u find where the red zone is, twitch very small moves while in the red zone
Hello, great channel. Because of your videos, I bought Soare XR S76UL-T.
I'm from Poland (very far away). In this video, I was interested in the object for winding the anchor rope - this orange color. What is it called and where can you buy it.
Regards Mariusz
it is just a reel for cable storage! lol : ) It is not made for anchor rope but thats what i use it. CHeap plastic but works : amzn.to/3OhGsq1
@@ifishcatfish Great Thank you, I already found it. Thank you for your help.

I just saw you got your sahara bearings for the line roller in stock, this is super attractive as hedgehogs pricing for shipping put me off! My question is for the shimano handle knob bearings, do i need shims? Do the bearings come with shims? Or will I need to buy knob shims and if so where. Thanks for your time!
if your knob has no free play currently u don't need shims. But i always put one shim. If u watch the video on my site i say that i always put one shim with the bearings, just in case u have a little free play.
@@ifishcatfish excellent thanks! Any reccomendations on where to purchase a shim?
@@12345B u want to buy JUST the shim?? I don't know.. it costs nothing, but nobody will sell you one shim. Its not the cost of the product. If you ask me to send you a piece of grass from outside i still have to charge u $5 for envelope and label and time for packing and driving to post office, and all kinds of transaction fees if u pay online. All of my one item transactions lose money for example. The only reason i don't put a minimum order of $15 is because i want so badly to get people to try my jigs that i am willing to lose money if they buy one pack, just so they try them
@ifishcatfish oh sorry for lack of clarification, shims, I don't mind buying a 100 pack for 5$ yeah I understand 😅
@ifishcatfish ah okay I just watched that video on your store shop! I do have alot of freeplay and I also noticed you said if I have too much freeway to let you know and you will send a few more! Will be supporting you soon, I can also send you a little more $$ for extra shims. Also excited to try out the sahara line roller bearing in the mail! That should be a good addition. 👍
Cought my 1st crappie on bg-1 yesterday! Bite was super slow & picky i could not get them to hit my usual jigs so i tied on bg-1 & a couple of UL jigs & started picking up bites. What floats are you using?
I have been working on making my own float for 2 years now.. I think they will finally be released in April.. Just in time for shallow bite : )
@ifishcatfish awesome! shallow bite YES, our Crappie go shallow in the pre spawn & post spawn, I can't wait!
@@gleamtarrest6310 i plan on having a 1 gram float, 1.25 gram and 1.5 gram, to easy match my jigs.
Which jigs and plastics are you using in this video?
I am using the BG-1 jigs, 1g#12, with black LarvaZ. Black on Black. U have to check it out
Hey Vikor, I just bought the new 2023 Vanquish and needed an area trout rod for fishing spoons and cranks. I want something in the price range of the presso air ages. Do you or anyone have any recommendations?
@@ifishcatfish for me it was just the color combo between the orange accents on the presso and the chrome of the vanquish but the presso was my original choice I think I’ll stick with that.
@@haykdallakian963 actually, if u care for that, i agree with your assesment. The color match will not be perfect. Go to Yamaga Blanks Nano TZ series and take a browse. Also go to Olympic rods (japan) and browse there their Corto and Belezza series rods. Watch my videos from the summer of the Vanquish on a Corto Prototype. The match was 100% perfect. Landed many fish over 10 lb with that combo and 2.1 lb line.
I very interested in this rod! Can you take other video to introduce this rod? Thanks❤
i will fish this rod a lot, but i don't want to make review to tease people. I don't think its available any more either.
@@ifishcatfish how do you think the bellezza prototype 582sul vs presso ltd 63ul?
@@ifishcatfish I buy the presso air ags 510xul and bellezza prototype 582sul-t, I want to compare these rod, haha
Was wondering if you think your anniversary rod has significantly better sensitivity than the $350 presso ags. Would this be the most sensitive rod you own?
No, it does NOT have better sensitivity! For sure! The most sensitive rod i have tried is probably the Corto Prototype i recently reviewed. Also had Abu Garcia Barbatos that was up there
@@ifishcatfish i see would you say the corto or barbatos has a night and day difference for sensitivity then the presso air ags?
@@yoloboie9479 no not at all. All japanese rods around 300$ i have reviewed are super sensitive and differences in sensitivity are small and mostly in the head of the angler. Biggest differences are in action and casting performance and comfort and aesthetics
A while ago I bought a 9ft presso and to be honest I didn't like it so I'm probably gonna sell it and buy a nicer rod
The 9 foot is not even uktralight rod. This is why i never recommended it. I have recommended 6’6 to 8’0
Do you use forward facing sonar to find fish?
I made video with that, explaining, but cut it out. I SEARCH for fish with side imaging... when i find some nice group, i stop, turn around, and look with livescope. But i don't use it to search the lake
Victor, do you have IFish fishing gloves now?
Right now we have over 20 inches of snow and 20 degrees below zero weather, with 40 below wind chill. It will be a few months before I see open water in southeaster Iowa. But, yes I would like to get a hold of those gloves and try them out this spring. Thanks.
👍🏼
Restock on the bg hooks?
Next batch will come end of March in best case, but most likely in April. I just hope its on time for Spring Fever...
I am hoping i will have the floats and jigs both stocked in April, so people can buy 1 gram float with 1 gram jig, 1.25gram float with 1.25 gram jig, and so on..
Where do you buy your rods from generally, I have been looking but shipping can be expensive?
shipping is ALWAYS expensive! I buy very few rods per year, and when there is something i really want i just overpay to get it. I definitely overpaid for this rod.. Shipping is not even the main problem... a lot of these rods have only 1 good model and it becomes out of stock right away so u can't even get them with expensive shipping
@ifishcatfish I see, have you thought about trying diawas iprimi or majorcraft finetail series?
@@12345B these are old rods.. in my business it doesn't make sense to go buy an old model and review it.. It might be still a good value, but from my point of view its too late to review a 2020 model rod..
@ifishcatfish I understand, hopefully we see new models released, hopefully they sale them off when that happens!
@@12345B i have never seen that. If it happens it doesn't happen in the shops that ship to USA. Maybe just internally in Japan..
Three hours and no catch? The closer to sunset the more they feed. Great fishing day nevertheless.
Not my fault, i didn't even see anything where i fished.. the middle of the lake was just empty..
Now that combo is pure ART! Looked fun to fish as well. Chevy or Ford vs. Bentley or Rolls Royce. It's a few dollars out of my budget but sure was enjoyable to watch you fish with it!
thanks Chip
