LIFESAVER!! Using this for our very temperamental little 7 year old mog; I think her tapping the screen and checking behind the iPad to see where the birdies have flown off to is one of the sweetest things imaginable. Thank you, from me and from Sid 🥰 🐈⬛
Yes! I know I'm surprised by how much goes on around here when I'm not watching. I'm sure that snake is under my house right now, he doesnt look venomous though...
My cat was lying down, watching the birds. When he saw the snake, he sat up tall, flattened his ears, and glared at it intensely, watching its every move.
Came back to watch again. Nice. Made my day. Flutter flutter splash splash tweet tweet chirp. Lap lap (the dog) was a nice touch, the blue jay has really great color on its wings - looks like stained glass.
That's great! I always think about how this video was an accident, I just wanted to see what was going on there over the course of a day, didn't even use my good camera! Bluejays ARE really cool, this one surprised me when he started honking: ua-cam.com/video/Zm7a4fmgTK4/v-deo.html

I don’t have a cat or a dog, LOL! I’m a birder for 20 years now. Just found your site a few weeks ago and just love the hell out of it! My goodness, a dream come true! We have a yard we built here in AZ, about ten feeders. I used to live in the desert in WA state and enjoyed building a certified backyard sanctuary. Middle of the suburb and we got geese and ducks, pheasants and quail even gulls. I’m finally getting ready to put a second water feature in. I have a fountain, my fountain in WA must have had the perfect shelves and water levels because the birds bathed constantly. This fountain they just won’t bathe in. So I was going to go to the fountain that sits on the ground, it’s very popular, looks a lot like just the top of yours. But now I see yours...I’m loving it! Could you please post a wider more comprehensive view of your set-up? I’d like to copy yours. I already put the items in my cart on Amazon for the tubing etc. OH! Is that your dog? How beautiful! I’m missing the 36 years I lived in WI, it’s been a long time not seeing cardinals and chick-a-dees. It seems I keep moving to deserts! We have lots of birds as AZ is lush with vegetation. Lots of people think AZ is dry and sandy and ugly brown. But the first time I visited here I was blown away at how many trees and flowering bushes and plants here. I have a brush pile I’m working on right now. It’s not big enough yet but the towhees like to use it. I had an 8 foot by 9 foot one in WA, and when the hawks were around I got to see some awesome evasion tactics sparrows and juncos and white crowned sparrows using the pile! I never get tired of watching birds. Keep up the great work, I’m able to see all the birds that I miss from WI. I’m a little melancholic watching this video. I am going to take a nap accompanied by your videos. Till next time!
Beth. First of all, I appreciate your comments. I wish I had the moxie to live out loud more like you do. When you share about yourself freely (even just online!) it helps people learn new things, and even rebuilds confidence that there still is a community of intelligent people out there that are willing to stand up for what right. Thanks for using your gift-of-gab for good! As for the birdbath in the video, I must admit that each video I upload is of a unique setup that I tear down at the end... otherwise I'd go outside and snap a pic! I'm setting up a new birdbath in the next couple weeks from a mold and some concrete mix. This video is the first time I'd seen a bird in water or even drinking from water, it was wild! The day before I had found a wren trapped in a big bucket after a rain and I couldn't figure out why he went in there in the first place... now I know! Location of the fountain seems to be key- Close to the ground (as close as possible) and near to cover (like your brush pile) but not too close that a cat might jump out. Of course the sound of water helps them find it, but for me it doesn't seem to matter as much as the other stuff.
You have me worried about the grackles! I am as surprised as you that I haven't had any troublemakers or even ONE squirrel visit my feeders. maybe because I take them down each week and then put up a new one? I will be rereading your comments to remember how to solve the problem one day I'm sure.
Beth I lived in AZ for many years as well, and even though I moved away I landed in a hot sandy and impossible to grow grass part of SC. My friend from AZ came to visit me last year and actually gave me the idea to make these so-called CAT TV videos of the bird feeders. It's been fun and I am always interested to know who is watching the videos and what they like or want more of.
My 2 yr old cat Max loves this video. The 6 month old, Soot, hides behind Max and watches the birds. Thanks for this they were driving me crazy before I found this video

Amazing video, love the moving flowing water by gravity, and all the beautiful birds. But like all videos for cats, I hung in a lot longer than my cat did, lol.
I'm glad you're enjoying it too. It was pretty exciting for me when I was filming it, I couldn't believe the amount of activity! The other birdbath ones I made after turned out better I think, but this one was memorable because it was so new and kinda impromptu.
@@LensMyth amazing. How do you get that water flowing through that small pipe and where the water is going which is overflowed. Please let me know i would like to do the same.

ua-cam.com/video/PkvUh7Hwsg4/v-deo.html This is a slightly different birdbath but the idea is the same. it spills into basin underneath and a small aquarium pump sends most of it back up through a tiny hose. I have the the faucet also dripping a good amount of fresh water into the basin so between that and the spillage it keeps it quite clean!
Not gonna lie, only clicked because I was curious of the comments and why people would put TV on for their cat... I haven't had cats for a few years now. Ended up staying because my pre-schooler decided they enjoyed it. 🤣
Hehe I learned about it in much the same way, my friend had mentioned it's a thing and I had to look it up and discovered that really it's more of a relaxing nature video that people can watch with their pets and even just leave on for them too. Keeps them outta trouble...
Happy to have found Your site&others like it..My CatKidz 16 14 & 2 are so Entertained as they are indoor Kidz..Your Vid made My "declawed" Kidz think they were "Real" Predators....Tku
Hi. Where do you purchase your bird bath bowls? I'm looking for a lightweight material like resin that easier to lift. How high do you place the baths and do you have any issues with squirrels? I have quite a few in my garden and wonder if they'd deter the birds if the bath was near ground level. You have a lovely space!
This birdbath is from Lowes, about $20 for the bath part. I set it low to the ground, for a few reasons, but dogs and other animals use it too. It should work fine on a pedestal. Squirrels here aren't too troublesome, and when they are in the feeders and bath, the birds just wait for them to leave, not really deterred by their presence. As long as the birds can rely on it being there with water in it, they'll start using it. Placing it nearby to bushes or trees to fly away to, helps them feel safe, too. They really prefer it not too deep, I have a plastic one from Amazon that they never use because it's too steep / deep. I saw them using a puddle on a nearby tarp instead!
my cat always bats at the screen, either causing it to go somewhere else, going back, going back all the way to the beginning, or taking it off full screen
I have a cat with cancer and I don't know how much pain he's in but he watched the Cardinal couple babe or 20 minutes of it and he hasn't had those ears perked up like that I don't even remember when he's not that old I don't know how long he had the cancer doesn't seem like he played like a kitten too much but he loved this video he's like where'd it go
Oh, thank you so much for the nature sounds birds bathing and splashing happily without fear. My cat isn't interested yet, because he's a little kitten!
I am watching this w/ my cat (who is not happy I'm down here in the comments interrupting his viewing)...23 minutes of birds bathing, I'm about to lose my mind jk He loves watching birds, especially ravens and other large flying birds. It's so funny, when he sees a bird fly up and away, he looks up at the ceiling like "where'd it go huh where is it?" tee hee My personal favorite part (it's a 2 for 1) @ 23:35 check out the black snake in the background (let's hope the birdies see him too). Thnx for this video...it's priceless!!
I'm just just pumping rainwater from a big container outta sight. It spills out of the bath to keep things clean The nearby red bucket just conveniently has a hole the right size to fit the little hose into. :)
@@LensMyth HAHA! What is rain? LOL living in AZ we don’t have four seasons. We have two: wet and dry. But wet is only during monsoon season; which is around July-September. Climate change really disrupts our wet season. Last year we only had two thunderstorms! It’ll be interesting to see what this year brings. Any suggestions for a fountain of FRESH water in AZ or other dry climates? What do you do if your have a dry spell...maybe you just fill up that big her bucket...hmm...we need to see your set up dear friend. Ciao!
I'm using this Sony, (this is my affiliate link to it on Amazon): amzn.to/3uIiybx and a rode shotgun mic. The mic really needs a cattail for the wind, but boy, the birds do not like that!
This bird bath is just set on a piece of wood or if I'm reusing the water I set it over top a larger container for the water to spill into. lensmyth.com/cat-tv-9/ has a short write up and I also made a short video here ua-cam.com/video/PkvUh7Hwsg4/v-deo.html of the next bird bath video setup.
YES! that WAS a snake and heading right to the house to come see us I suppose... He's not venomous so I let him be and try to not to be too eeeeeeeek'ed out!
Catbirds love raisins and small sections of grapes if you are trying to attract them to your birdfeeders. I also put grape jelly in a small container that is inside an enclosed platform feeder and they love that too. WRZ 2021-07-01

The Cardinals are very popular here, they outnumber most other birds in my garden anyway, and are a bit aggressive too.

Thanks for the info!
my cat always bats at the screen, either causing it to go somewhere else, going back, going back all the way to the beginning, or taking it off full screen
No one is going to mention the random snake around 23 min?
I have a cat with cancer and I don't know how much pain he's in but he watched the Cardinal couple babe or 20 minutes of it and he hasn't had those ears perked up like that I don't even remember when he's not that old I don't know how long he had the cancer doesn't seem like he played like a kitten too much but he loved this video he's like where'd it go
So great to hear he's enjoying it! Thank you for sharing your story
What was the gray bird after the brown thrasher in the beginning? Is that a mockingbird? 2:20
YES! it looked like just a lil one too
@@LensMyth thanks!
Hi there! How do you get the water to move like that?
There's a little pump pushing water through that small hose. Is that what you mean?
Oh, thank you so much for the nature sounds birds bathing and splashing happily without fear. My cat isn't interested yet, because he's a little kitten!
I'm so glad you like it! Soon kitten will be on the hunt and knocking the tv down to get at the birds!
I am watching this w/ my cat (who is not happy I'm down here in the comments interrupting his viewing)...23 minutes of birds bathing, I'm about to lose my mind jk He loves watching birds, especially ravens and other large flying birds. It's so funny, when he sees a bird fly up and away, he looks up at the ceiling like "where'd it go huh where is it?" tee hee
My personal favorite part (it's a 2 for 1) @ 23:35 check out the black snake in the background (let's hope the birdies see him too).
Thnx for this video...it's priceless!!
How do keep the water filled from the bucket I believe is what I see
I'm just just pumping rainwater from a big container outta sight.
Ciao!
What is your camera set up?
I'm using this Sony, (this is my affiliate link to it on Amazon): amzn.to/3uIiybx
and a rode shotgun mic. The mic really needs a cattail for the wind, but boy, the birds do not like that!
Thank you for the domestic bird show for my indoor cat!
My cat jumped because he thought he was going to get sprayed with water, lol.
hehe yeah they do splash pretty wildly
Can you please let me know bird bath how did you setup on the ground? Please share the details
This bird bath is just set on a piece of wood or if I'm reusing the water I set it over top a larger container for the water to spill into. lensmyth.com/cat-tv-9/ has a short write up and I also made a short video here ua-cam.com/video/PkvUh7Hwsg4/v-deo.html of the next bird bath video setup.
encore un peu hiiiiiiiiiiii
Where did you purchase your bird bath? Great video.
You'll find that one at Lowes for about $20! It's a great design
@@LensMyth thank you!!
Thank you 😊. My cat really enjoyed this (she even tried to type her own comment 😂) - the snake in the background particularly got her attention.
Anyone know what the first bird was?
The big brown one is called the Brown Thrasher. In the Intro there's a small gray Mocking Bird
28:10 what kind of bird is this? he looks thirsty!
THAT is the flightless male White Tufted Terrier. He is also being bad, since he's not allowed to be over there!
@@LensMyth *chuckle*
Was that a snake at minute 23:52? 🙀
YES! that WAS a snake and heading right to the house to come see us I suppose...
