For me, I remember the eraser challenge opened up a new way for people struggling with mental health to SH which included me. It was really sad to see how many kids used this challenge to SH and get away with it by stating they were just trying to make a TikTok/viral video. This is middle school for me. MIDDLE SCHOOL! I'm glad that this topic was brought up since I know that it affected a ton of kids in my school. They even started to make kids put eraser on their desks to ensure nothing was happening. I'm in a safe place and I help advocate for mental health now. Please, don't risk yourself or others doing stupid challenges like this.
I remember when the devious lick challenge ran rampant throughout my school, junior year. Kids stole soap dispensers, sink faucets, and toilet paper holders from the bathrooms. One group of troublemakers actually were able to dismantle one of the mirrors in the boys bathroom closest to the class I was in, and brought the whole damn thing inside to show the class and our teacher. They didn’t take off with it, and instead left it in the classroom after taking pictures of it. Our teacher was super chill, since the boys didn’t actually steal it, and just unscrewed it off the wall, so he waited for the boys to leave the classroom before calling a janitor and campus police officer. The both of them were really puzzled, since kids usually took it home instead of harmlessly leaving it at school. On a less lighthearted note, kids stole soap dispensers so much in the first few weeks of the school year that the school got tired of replacing them. For the rest of the year, we didn’t have any soap in the bathrooms to wash our hands with in most bathrooms. It was super gross, and janitors took weeks to fix trashed toilets and broken doors- which made it even longer to go to the bathroom since there weren’t a lot of available stalls. I know my high school is better than a lot of other schools in the area, but at least those schools had soap dispensers and didn’t have kids that murdered people smh

Idk why, but in my school the infamous (at least in my country) "eraser challenge" was considered to be too weak of a challenge, so we put our own twist to it. YOU are rare, tuv! Putting out amazing content, while also being funny, intelligent and humble... now that’s a challenge I’d like to see more other people try!!
4:39 I mean, telling other people to say no after you did something and regretted it is perfectly reasonable. there's nothing stupid about that. like, who wouldn't encourage others to say no in a situation like that? not wanting other people to have the same problems you do is perfectly normal. that she did the challenge in the first place was of course dumb, but telling other people not to do it isn't stupid in the slightest.
I remember watching UA-cam videos and then doing the banana sprite challenge back in college in 2012 around the same time as planking and the cinnamon challenge, they were all three huge within that year
Yeah, have the same problem with my newest video (fully monetized too). One of the worst performing videos in the last few months and my video is not being shown in sub feeds and people don't get notifications. Also, way less views from recommendations. I think that reuploading won't do much here. It seems to be a problem in the system or our niche is being targeted by the algorithm. No idea. I think not uploading for 1-2 weeks may fix the problem, but it's incredibly demotivating nonetheless.
I'm sorry to hear that man, I watched that video when it came out and it was pretty good. You guys don't deserve having your videos not showing up in sub feeds or notifications. I love your content and I look forward to every video both you and tuv put out.
i think an honorable mention is the chapstick challenge, that’s when whenever your chapstick ran out you were supposed to “off yourself”, this trend/challenge is extremely horrible because people actually lost their lives due to it.
😂 but in all seriousness, I honestly think that the Charlie Charlie challenge (if its actually real) can be more dangerous than people think. I mean, you're communicating with a ghost. Its almost like a Ouija board. You're inviting a spirit into your house, which is something we should leave to professionals, because these 7 year olds don't know what they're actually dealing with.
Honestly I ain't gonna hold it against the 16 year old who tried to warn people away from doing the cinnamon challenge. Like its easy to make fun of her, but she was like 16 at the time and when have teens ever been known for making good life choices? I just hope she's doing a lot better now a days a decade away from the situation.
@@not_paa1 fun fact! Your brain isn't actually fully developed until you're like around the age of 25. Challenges have just gotten worse over the years. It used to be about having fun and making funny content for people to enjoy, now it’s about how far can you push it hurting yourself and other people and how much can you push yourself to one up other people.
I like how kids tried to take credit for the “salt and ice challenge” and “eraser challenge”… I watched kids do these in elementary and middle school in the 90’s… also how did you not mention the mannequin challenge!
bro i still have the screenshot of you liking my comment from about 9 months ago. i’ve been watching you for probably a year or so. you’ve really grown since then man, i feel like a proud mother bro. keep up the good work
Lmaoooo I did the eraser challenge in middle school in 2015 when I was 13- on the lowest part of my left pinkie. I still have a scar from it at nearly 21, but it’s way less pronounced than it used to be. Back then people called the challenge “dangerous”, so uh- I wonder how they view modern “challenges” on tiktok. Challenges are absolutely insane nowadays. Legit felony speedruns at this point.
I said this yesterday, so I'll say it again: Thank you for the chapters and the explanation beforehand. I am severely emetophobic and you allowed me to skip the content that would have made me sick for the next couple of days, so I appreciate it.
Dude I’m emetophobic too and I was looking for a comment like this not thinking much since being emetophobic sounds rare. I agree with you 100% thanks Tuv!

A lot of people my age have little scars from the salt+ice challenge and the eraser challenge lol Also my Mom (born in 74) did the eraser challenge in school, a lot of these come and go over the years and are older than you think

13:18 this is a huge thing in Latin America. It's called "abecedario chino" which translates to "Chinese alphabet" and it has been a thing at least since my parents were kids so that's ~1975 ish. The "game" consists of you sitting down with a friend and them rubbing the eraser on the back of your hand, then they say the alphabet letters in order as you say a word that starts with each letter. It (still) is ridiculously common here sadly
i remember the gallon smashing challenge, it was always like when eric andre pretends to be blind and goes into a lightbulb store and says "do you have any lightbulbs?" before smashing everything in sight with his blind cane. in the world of internet pranks, it was honestly just funny.
Thinking about it, I (being a British type) can't think of any specifically UK challenges. Some of the more harmless of these were definitely things over here - planking and the Harlem Shake were pretty big, and some friends and I drunkenly did the cinnamon challenge at a party once so we could laugh at each other. I'm pretty sure just about everyone did the ice bucket challenge as well. I only remember hearing about the really stupid ones from the news, but that might just be because I was in my late 20s-30s at the time, and not likely to actually do any of them. The only thing I can think of that I've never heard anywhere else doing is owling - it was a thing around the same time as planking, but rather than lying down, you'd squat on top of things with your arms straight down and stare straight ahead, like a perching owl. For all I know, other places might have done this as well, but I never heard about it.
Hey tuv, just wanna say that I really love these videos that you make. They are amazing and entertaining to watch, and all the topics you bring up or amazing. 2:50 Lmfao I just discovered you Saturday and you're already one of my new favorites. The fact that you actually bring fresh content as opposed to rehashing the same ole' worn out stories is a very welcomed breath of fresh air :)
Charlie charlie was banned in my class because the teacher left to go get something from a printer and around 9 students(including me ) all took out our charlie charlie mats. She came back to the room seeing kids stacking pencils and asking questions. She banned it after that
my brother actually made me do the cinnamon challenege before, pretty sure one of us threw up (my 2 brothers and i did it), i had it on an apple tho so maybe that helped. i did end up using water to rinse my mouth tho so i didnt complete it. also did the charlie charlie challenge too alot with my friend in elemntary, it was actually fun but it probably didnt work most the time
I remember when I was younger that the only thing I knew of the cinnamon challenge was that you had to eat a spoonful of cinnamon, I did not know you had to swallow it whole or about the time limit. So I decided to try the challenge: I took a small spoonful with honestly not that much on it, and put it in my mouth, then chewed the cinnamon before swallowing it. I was like "that wasn't so hard, why are people failing this"? Needless to say I was very wrong 🤣 I should also note that it wasn't pure cinnamon either, it was cinnamon/sugar mix.

istg your smile makes me smile it’s so adorable 💕
YOU are rare, tuv! Putting out amazing content, while also being funny, intelligent and humble... now that’s a challenge I’d like to see more other people try!!
4:39 I mean, telling other people to say no after you did something and regretted it is perfectly reasonable. there's nothing stupid about that. like, who wouldn't encourage others to say no in a situation like that?
not wanting other people to have the same problems you do is perfectly normal.
that she did the challenge in the first place was of course dumb, but telling other people not to do it isn't stupid in the slightest.
Tuv dry humping the air with the cut outs 😭
Keep making great content.
i think an honorable mention is the chapstick challenge, that’s when whenever your chapstick ran out you were supposed to “off yourself”, this trend/challenge is extremely horrible because people actually lost their lives due to it.
what kind of dumbass made that trend oh my gosh
@@devrsef7435 no idea it’s so stupid
I love your content tuv keep up the good work
I remember when I did the Charlie Charlie challenge. The scariest bit was trying to balance the pencils 💀
@@PotatoSeeds2.0 its not real
Honestly I ain't gonna hold it against the 16 year old who tried to warn people away from doing the cinnamon challenge. Like its easy to make fun of her, but she was like 16 at the time and when have teens ever been known for making good life choices? I just hope she's doing a lot better now a days a decade away from the situation.
Bruh, they have a brain they can think and they aren't children
@@not_paa1 fun fact! Your brain isn't actually fully developed until you're like around the age of 25. Its developed enough to know that doing shit like sexual assault or murder is bad and that you shouldn't do that, but at 16 a lot of kids don't think "Hmmmmm maybe this internet trend is dangerous actually" and especially not if you're among the first to be hurt by it.
@@Bowserboy129 at 10 or 12, okay, you might’ve not known better, but at 16? If you don’t see the danger in these kind of challenges at 16 then I have no words
@@Bowserboy129first of all idc abt the fact lmao and second of all ur telling me a brain of a 16 yr old is capable of handling to learn shit from school and not process that they shouldn't do a dumb challenge which has already had bad results with others

Bro, I remember doing the Charlie Charlie challenge with my homies at recess man this vid brought back so much memories
Challenges have just gotten worse over the years. It used to be about having fun and making funny content for people to enjoy, now it’s about how far can you push it hurting yourself and other people and how much can you push yourself to one up other people.
It’s turned into the Darwin awards and it makes me disappointed in humanity 😂
Sometimes I wonder how much more intelligent mankind could have been without the internet…
We'd probably still be doing dangerous things like in the 1900's
Love this mans videos
I like how kids tried to take credit for the “salt and ice challenge” and “eraser challenge”… I watched kids do these in elementary and middle school in the 90’s… also how did you not mention the mannequin challenge!
I love how cardboard Danny DeVito is always silently judging us from the back of your room
bro i still have the screenshot of you liking my comment from about 9 months ago. i’ve been watching you for probably a year or so. you’ve really grown since then man, i feel like a proud mother bro. keep up the good work
It's so weird how different aged people have like a favorite year. Personally, for me I have fond memories of 2012.
Honestly some of the best music was made in 2012 imo, i miss that year
Lmaoooo I did the eraser challenge in middle school in 2015 when I was 13- on the lowest part of my left pinkie.
I agree with you 100% thanks Tuv!
whats emetophobic
@@thea2974 “Emetophobia is a specific phobia that involves an extreme fear of vomiting, seeing vomit, watching other people vomit, or feeling sick. People with emetophobia often live with anxiety and engage in behaviors that affect their daily life. Most people don't like vomiting, but rarely does it overtake their thoughts.”

@@thea2974 Yw!
A lot of people my age have little scars from the salt+ice challenge and the eraser challenge lol
Also my Mom (born in 74) did the eraser challenge in school, a lot of these come and go over the years and are older than you think
i was in high school in 2010 but it's actually kinda funny hearing about the experience of people who were kids at the time and now grown up!
Tuv is like that cool older cousin that you try to hang out with at family events
nice to see this video back up! love your content dude, never stop making videos!
A friend of mine did the cinnamon challenge years ago. She's an absolute monster, she ate the whole spoon like it was nothing.😂👌
My old ass watching this and realizing how young you are but calling out dumb shit that would make me sound like a "boomer" if I called out . The fact you said a challenge is supposed to be difficult made me subscribe. I'm glad I discovered your channel! Also, some of these "challenges" that involve hurting yourself is because I'm convinced is be cause this world is that toxic and its a darwinism experiment .
This brought back so many memories 😭
The Charlie Charlie challenge, man what a freaking throw back, loved going back in time discussing all the old challenges
Tuv I hope you are ok meantal health wise I hope you get thru this I know it’s a lot but you got this
Got the notification :) hope this pops off as it deserves dude haha
Hi love your vids :)
Epic gamer moment
bruh
Hey look its the clickbait commentary UA-camr

10:10 im fighting the urge to do the ice and salt one
I feel so cool I’ve been subbed since like 600,000 subs I’ve watching every vid n u honestly deserve 1mill+
i love your videos!!
For all I know, other places might have done this as well, but I never heard about it.
wasnt really a challenge but burgess park june 2nd was definitely the most dangerous uk trend
Hey tuv, just wanna say that I really love these videos that you make. They are amazing and entertaining to watch, and all the topics you bring up or amazing. You speak fluently, you add in a joke, you take things seriously when they need to… your honestly a perfect content creator, I wish the best for your channel :)
9:29 as someone with scars from it it’s possibly the stupidest thing you can do
Hey hey hey, just got to know your channel, just know that i enjoyed your video and felt like i was seriously communicating with someone, thank you!
We love all your shit tuv, you're one of the last genuine youtubers and we appreciate the hard work you put in

I’m ngl I started bawling when you first played the wax face video with the non-copyright music
I did the salt and ice thing when I was around freshman age in like 2006 and I still have a visible scar on my ankle
the most disturbing part was 6:04! Sent chills down my spine!
The charlie charlie challenge we used to do in 2010-2012 at school.
in 2016 me my sisters and my cousins planked on tables in our basement… HOW DID I NOT KNOW IT WAS A TREND
With the charlie Charlie challenge I swear to God that was real, I along with a few others had some very bad personal experiences from trying it..but of course saying it will only make me look stupid...
That along with that light as a feather stiff as a board challenge
It’s honestly crazy how fast your channel has grown and is growing. Well deserved.
I remember the knife game growing up! People would place your hand down on a table sing a song while moving the sharp knife over your fingers going faster each time
I remember with the devious lick, my school had lost 80 soap dispensers in a week, none have been replaced
I absolutely love this channel, the personality, the voice, the look. It all combines in a great experience every time. KEEP IT UP TUV!
2:50 Lmfao I just discovered you Saturday and you're already one of my new favorites. The fact that you actually bring fresh content as opposed to rehashing the same ole' worn out stories is a very welcomed breath of fresh air :)
tuv is such a dork in like a cute/ endearing way
Tuv is so clever with self promo😂
It literally is so wholesome when you go on about how you love youtube and the stuff you do
Charlie charlie was banned in my class because the teacher left to go get something from a printer and around 9 students(including me ) all took out our charlie charlie mats. She came back to the room seeing kids stacking pencils and asking questions. She banned it after that
My second cousin did the skull breaker challenge and severely broke his arm and had to have 4 surgeries
my brother actually made me do the cinnamon challenege before, pretty sure one of us threw up (my 2 brothers and i did it), i had it on an apple tho so maybe that helped. i did end up using water to rinse my mouth tho so i didnt complete it. also did the charlie charlie challenge too alot with my friend in elemntary, it was actually fun but it probably didnt work most the time
I remember when I was younger that the only thing I knew of the cinnamon challenge was that you had to eat a spoonful of cinnamon, I did not know you had to swallow it whole or about the time limit.
