Trimming Star's Hooves with

This was Star's third trim using David Landreville's method and we are really happy with how her hooves are coming along! I'm using a loop knife for the first time (the brand is Hastings) and give my review of it. Spoiler: Wow, it's amazing! From videos I had seen of trimming with loop knives they looked more effective, and I wasn't wrong! -Rachel

@@equippedforequines Helas, I am too old for that, woman aged 58...I would prefer having a nice farrier whose job is always good for my horse aged 31 and sensitive. I am worried sometimes when he doesn’t walk normally. This is the case this month. My farrier says it is perfect. 🙃

That's understandable! One thing you could do to have a good understanding of healthy trimming is to do David Landreville’s membership for a time (it's only $10 a month). Then you could see if you need to find a different trimmer. Definitely concerning that after your farrier's trim your horse isn't walking right and he's saying it's perfect. 😬 Unfortunately, the term "professional" doesn't automatically mean the person is good at what they do or were taught correctly so it's always good to do our own learning. 😊

Hello! I've actually been trimming hooves for 10 years so I have a lot of experience with it, I just hadn't used a loop knife before. 😊 -Rachel
