Good explanation. Another way of explaining a powered speaker is that it has its own amplifier inside. This means they only receive the audio signal and amplify it themselves. Un-powered speaker required one to slug around a separate amplifier. So they receive an amplified signal.
I understand the explanation, but a demo assuming people know the difference between powered/active speakers and passive speakers would have been a better way to start, cut to the chase and show what the speaker can do, at the end of the day, it is a speaker and amp combined, with added features. I hope you don't mind my input, pun intended.
Hello recently purchased Dxr12 mk2 sound great, but on some songs where the low frequencies of the original sound of the shell resonance so to say rattling, you can hear it of course only from behind or from the side speakers but still not nice to tell me what to do? is this how it should be?

Yes they're not good standalone speakers... you cant push the the frequency setting set to the bottom because the woofer will blow and as you say, it sounds bad. I mostly used mine with subs so they sounded good while they lasted.
I really liked the design of the DRX8 and DRX10, but I didn't like the sound of either. DRX12 and 15 have much more even and clean sound, aside from better low end.
Do they have fuses in these ? I've had 4 of the mk1 which are all broken. No fuses = blown boards. Unfortunately yamaha charges more to repair their products than to buy a new one. Stay away from these if they dont have fuses you can access and replace.
How did you manage to blow the fuses on four of them? I own 4 of these myself and have never had issues with any of them. If you drive them too hard they’ll go into thermal protection mode and shut off for awhile. Curious about the fuses though you have me worried, now, even though I’ve never had an issue with these over hundreds of gigs.
@@djhenryeau there are no fuses in these speakers so all of mine blew the boards over time. It works out £50 more expensive to buy a new speaker than to get repaired. My other active speakers all have fuses in so if they have an issue a fuse will blow and protect the speaker and they're much better sounding speakers than the yamahas.
Great video👍...I still prefer non powered speaker, good amp & a bbe maximizer....no issues with old school equipment...new generation speakers, too much hog wash too many problems...lol 😁!
This is the best video on any powered speaker I’ve seen. Thank you sir for explaining these things in a way that is easier to understand. A++

DUUUUUUDE huge points ! explaining the difference about ACTIVE and autoamplified is KEY for the market that doesn't know! you the man!!!!!
This is a really good explanation, thanks.

People like you should stay away from loudspeakers! You give products a bad name because of your ignorance to learn how a product works.
Excellent description here - Thank you very much !
I didn't realize the slogan was "make waves". That's awesome. I'm sure these pair well with the older DXR8's too, right?
Reno, looks like Isabella’s almost husband in Encanto lol. My kids watch it almost daily I couldn’t help but comment. Great review too btw :)
I was hoping for a detailed comparison between the 1st and 2nd generation DXR's.
Still good job on the explanation.
What size are in the video?
Great review and quality video. I was wondering what the difference was.
Looks like they added a xlr lock too
Thx!, great demo and explanation
Excellent presentation!
great video!!! can I use it with my helix and guitar? how is it compared to the headrush or redsound? thanks
I must have these speakers 🔊
Clear as water!!!
Thanks. Great Video.
Could I put only a other DXR at the Link Output or every speaker? For example a JBL Partybox
👍

The oringals or the mkii?

There is a 7 year warranty on these so it shouldnt have cost you anything
@@ninjatzuuninjazuu8776 in Thailand a warranty isn't worth the paper its written on.

Yes, I think it’s only a one year warranty in Thailand
can someone advice if i should buy 2 dxr15's and 15" sub or 2 dxr15 + 18" sub, or 2 dxr12's with 15" sub, for mobile dj, inside and outside
If you have the money 2 x DXR15's with 2 x DXS18XLF's. Awesome sound and power for up to 400 people no worries.
if u get the 15's, i know many applications wont require you to use a sub. the 12's im not too sure on.
