Now I'm confused. When I watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade they used the articulated heads for the Disney Characters, but in this clip the articulated heads are shut-off.
That would be cool, although this is more an ad for the cruise and not general Disney stuff. I do wonder who makes the decision to designate the actors and singers, because last year the kpop groups were in random floats as well. I don't think it's an endorsement thing because I don't think Lea is affiliated with Sesame Street lol

It's because NY was raining. It's usually due to safety of the performers. If they used the articulated mouths and eyes, they could also damage them.
