My new year's resolution is to learn this smash technique, so I can thank you for a very eductional video which I will have on repeat for the coming weeks if not longer!
@@ThePadelSchool Thank you Sandy! I will let you know when I succeed on a regular basis. I would say that I have got the moving/preparing part down. I need to recalibrate my aim to much closer to the net, as I am aware that I always smash behind the serve line (on the basis of "if it works, dont change it"). As for having my arm in front of my body and using a bit of wrist, it is probably horrible. I've been told countless times that the way I smash is bizzare. I will work on the aim part first, hopefully that will be enough.
Hi Sandy thanks for the video. If the ball comes directly from your opponent, you have to pay attention that you do not hit the ball before it has reached your side of the court otherwise you lose the point right (although maybe difficult to judge without an umpire)? Whereas if you would play the smash on a ball that has already travelled to your side and comes of the back glass, you can in fact contact the ball on the opponent’s side of the court?
I don't get close enough to the net to play this shot as I'm worried about being lobbed. Must remember to close in for the kill when I've played a good low volley.
Brian McCluskey exactly, all about reading your previous shot and your opponent position. Only when you know you’re getting a weak ball would you move forward to execute 👍
Great video again mate. What are the rules for when you can hit the ball on your opponents side of the net? Or do you always need to hit the ball on your side of the net but then the racket can follow through? Thanks!
You can only hit the ball on your opponent side when the ball comes from your side of the court. Let's say they smash and it bounces on to the back glass, in this case you can put your racket on the other side of the net. If the ball comes from the opponent side, you need to hit the ball on your side, but yes the follow through can go on their side.
I really like your channel but every time you explain a shot you should show more practical examples. Fewer words more examples. This is just my opinion.
Why is there an English, Portuguese, Italian and Russian translation, and there is no Arabic translation? I do not know English very much and I find it difficult to translate. Please put an Arabic translation
That one take with both backhand and forehand-smash out... ;-) vamos!
Haha the shots are easy, its the speaking that sometimes takes a few goes!! haha

Haha, the key is moving early at net forwards on the right ball...once you do that bit it is a question of smashing down! Let me know how it goes!!

Exactly as Andre just described! :)
Thanks!
Great video Sandy, any racket comparison videos coming up? They are super useful!
Yes, I need to start collecting the 2021 models...

agree
Sure, I will try to do that. The main difficulty is that the majority of my videos I'm on my own. But definitely something I can try to incorporate...

Apologies Mohammed!! I have added them! Hope they help :)
@@ThePadelSchool I have benefited a lot from the translation. Thank you, and I hope to see it in the next videos
Mohd Alhammadi I will do my best ;)
