NYCT Bus: M1 - M3, M15, M101, M102, M103, BxM6 - 11 & Q32 Action via Amsterdam (10th) Avenue & More!

Footage of various north-south bus routes operating on Amsterdam (10th) Avenue through the Upper West Side (59th-81st Streets). Due to the New York City Half Marathon, every single bus in Midtown was rerouted via the West Side of Manhattan. There was no north-south bus service from the 1st Avenue until 9th Avenue/Columbus Avenue, which was chaotic for many Manhattan routes through Midtown. As a result of the event, almost every bus in Manhattan was operating down 9th/10th Avenue at some point during their trip.
The Q32 was rerouted via 81st Streets and 9th/10th Avenues through Manhattan, while initially being rerouted via the 65th Street Transverse. It is unknown specifically why buses were rerouted to the 79th Street Transverse, however the amount of Orion VII NGs on the line may be a reason. While NG buses are not prohibited from using the 65th Street Transverse, they are rarely used on the M66 & M72 routes, and reroutes of other routes with NGs through the 65th Street Transverse are generally avoided. This is because the height of the bus barely has enough clearance at the highest point of each of the bridges crossing the transverse.
