Many thanks. You've covered the topic very comprehensively. I hope that everybody in the mosquito-ridden parts of the world will have a good net. In Nigeria I used to tuck the bottom edge of the rectangular nets under the mattress to prevent other non-flying bugs from crawling in, e.g. dreaded bedbugs, centipedes, scorpions, spiders, snakes etc..
@@veganconservative1109 we move out into space. Colonising Mars and making it into a liveable planet. Mosquitos develop space suits and hold on the outside of the rocket. Not leaving without us.
I end up purchasing 3 for different scenarios. I already have a camping one but it's too small for a bed. I haven't received the others yet. But I thought I might give a little advice, if you can find some full-strength permethrin, mix it with some water and completely spray your mosquito nets with it so if/when a mosquito lands on it, it will become paralyzed shortly and can't bite any longer. I spray permethrin on just about everything for any type of bug including spiders.
One thing to note about the circular design is that their protection increases if you have some other rigid wall protruding up from your bed. Ie, a head frame or if you have infants, the walls of their crib will force the air gap. So if you have a head frame on your bed (backboard? Don't know best way to say it) you can drape the netting behind it and your face will be totally protected. And the circular design is also a great choice if you have a baby in a crib because the walls totally enclose the infant and protects them from bites.
Circle mosquito nets are for baby beds that have high laterals that can hold the net on the corners. Or those old bed frames that had high pikes both in the head and feet of the bed frame.
I use a simple technique when I place my curtain mosquito net. I place another blanket on the mattress I pinched the edges of the mosquito net around that blanket that I'm laying on. That way you don't need to be raising the mattress.
Gave me a good insight in which nets there are currently available in the market. Never saw the boxed one so professional instead of princess-ish. Thanks, keep going like this man! Edit: I just bought the boxed one!
Here’s a question. What do the mosquitoes do when you have the net set up? Do they just circle the net all night long? Are they like a fly that keeps bumping into the window again, and again, and again? Before dying of exhaustion
they inject their proboscis (elongated appendage) simmilar to an elephants trunk, and try poking through but if you're not close enough they will not be able to bite you and then probably will give up and move on to another victim.
Yes you can make you bed while using a pop up mosquito net. All you have to do is lift the net off the bed and set it aside. Then make you bed as you would normally do without the pillows. Replace the net on the made-up bed. Then lay the pillows I side the net, close it and voilà.
The best mosquito nets for me had a dis-mountable frame on top made by 2 or 4 flexed pieces of fiberglass, same principle as on some tents. They had the advantage of a larger area on top than the round frames one finds now., and were as easy to hang up as the round ones. Two more important advantages were that the frame could be dismounted for easy washing, and the frame was not in steel which where I live by the sea is an important considerations as the metal frames rust after a couple of years. They were just slightly more expensive than the round frames but I have not been able to find any now.
And remember that a mosquito net is NO GOOD for protection against midges, because they're half the size of a mozzy, and will get through the larger mesh.
I had an odd q if someone can help but for the pop up, I’m considering alavantor since it looks more durable than other brands and I have pets that could occasionally wander into to destroy the net.. So when you get up in the morning or even middle of the night tired, what is the best way to get in and out but not let bugs in? Let’s assume they’re on the net but you don’t notice or can’t see them if they’re on a seam or when you open it, they can somehow sneak in? I never thought of it until I realized the thought of seeing them crawling on the net, unsure how to get out without getting them in😅
Have a flashlight ready to look all around to see if you see any pests. Have a spray bottle full of rubbing alcohol to attack them with. This is my method, at least
oops i just bought the first one you talked about and i can see now that it will be a problem, i have not installed it yet, like you showed the net will be touching your body, maybe having a headboard would help to have your head free from the net, it would be nice if the round circle would be much larger. Or i can pin the corner up, the bed touches 2 walls, i will try that. Thanks for the video, very helpful.
I'm in Vancouver, and I'm getting ready for mosquito season, basically summer, that's why I'm here viewing this. Usually I have a fan on low setting, works well. Want to try something different now.

Mosquitos are clever. In africa they have adapted to feeding early night or day because night time theres mosquito nets.
I just need for sleep without mosquito sound. They can eat me in daylight
In Arizona in the past decade they have gone 24 hours.... even in 110+F heat.

To fix the problem with the circle net just tuck it under your mattress
You are saving lives, my friend.

In my country, we make 4 hooks in 4 corners of the room, then hang the rectangle net up and tuck it ends to the mattress or the mat. 👌
Same
Thank you thanks you grabing the square. Strong Valcro and tape you can move this thing anywhere you helped many people
I agree and thank you. Since childhood we are using the spacious rectangular net☺️
Sleep with a fan on you, they can't cope with the wind.
Thanks, super useful! I woke up this morning using the circular one and I had a mosquito in my ear! lol on to the next one!

What a nice video, i think i like the square net solution best, mosquitos are the most terrible creatures on earth.

What about winds? I'm getting for hot
A quick question, does the third option , the one that doesn't require any strings, is the floor part covered too or just the 4 sides ?
Why do we need it?

Any experience with Bambulah?

Make frames yourself from plastic pipes and pipe connectors.
Nice video.....was gonna buy one of these...this brings a lot of things to prespective
I like your head roll 😁😁😁

“Stick their little tongues through the net…” so funny!
My idea would be great to make an outdoor enclosure..so the kids can play with out getting bit.. draping it over an already fenced in area..
That would be difficult if they came out of the grass.
@@jasminetripp9922 You can chase them out of the grass with an Off! Fan.
Appreciated this video, man
Good explaination
Many thanks bro
Mosquito net are safer and healthier to fight against Malaria mosquitoes, dengue fever mosquitoes, chikungunya mosquitoes

It’s spider season so that’s why I’m here one was literally in my brothers pillow
They go right through the hammock so try yard camping before you get to the woods.

My wife is wondering if anyone uses these at night time in Canada?

such a cute guy
meh
I've thought of logics like that.
Disposable cups are sequestering carbon that would otherwise go into the atmosphere.
I’m so bad, mosquitoes put up human nets
Wow people don't realize you need a space between you and the mosquito . . . Smfh.
