I have on Queen Mary 2 on two voyages each of them fantastic and memorable! I must say that your video is one of the best I have seen of what it is really like on this famous ocean liner, It brings back wonderful memories of adventure, enjoyment, excitement and shire luxury!!!!
Thank you for watching. I’m so pleased you enjoyed my video. It was fun to make and great to hear people enjoy watching it. She’s a wonderful ship. I hope you get to enjoy her again.
Excellent video! We have had many great times onboard the only ocean liner on the seas. You must try a “crossing” between Southampton and New York. A very stable ship, even in force 8 seas.. A large ship, without the crowds of some cruise ships.
Hi John, it’s true the age group is mostly older, but not exclusively. I firmly believe that younger travellers can also enjoy the ship and the itineraries. Thank you for watching!
I must compliment you on your wonderful video of this gorgeous ship. The way you put together your video made it easy to follow... and your voice was clear, yet soft. I have recently watched several videos of this ship done by others and they tended to point out the negatives of the ship. Things like broken seats in the theatre, a loose elevator hand bar, carpet being replaced, dust behind furniture... and constantly talking about the ship's age showing. One even complained because there is no water slide on that ship. Not one of those videos showed the bookstore or library or the "rich people's areas" or the beautiful way that the history is displayed... or several of the other places you showed and talked about. You also have "class". They didn't. One video I watched was a "drunk fest"... and there's nothing like watching four or six drunk people slurring their words and trying to sound intelligent. Very classy. You also seemed quite comfortable in your clothes, whether every day or formal. That sounds odd, perhaps, but they obviously weren't. I mean, if you have to mention it every time you dress up, you're really not comfortable with formal wear... and if you say outright that you don't like to dress up or you'd rather be in jeans and a t-shirt... hm-m-m... what are you doing on a ship that discourages that with a dress code? Anyway, I just wanted to say "thank you" for making a decent video of the Queen Mary 2. Now I'm going to go have a look at some of the other things you've presented.
Hi, I’m so thrilled you enjoyed my video! Thank you so much for the comprehensive feedback. I enjoy the filming and editing so it’s wonderful if people like watching as well. I’m fairly new to this and very much still learning what works and hopefully I’ll get a bit better with every video. She’s a beautiful ship and you can have a lovely experience enjoying all she offers. I’m always glass half full and believe you have to make the most of each opportunity. Thank you so much for watching.
Hi Lynne & Annie, thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. I'm sure you'll have a fantastic trip! Happy sailing - wishing you a lovely time.
Hi, thank you so much for watching my video. No you don’t need to dress up every night, but it’s important to say a lot of people do and choose Cunard especially for that reason. On the non-Gaia nights the men don’t need to wear a jacket or tie. You don’t have to dress up any night if you don’t want to - the lido buffet restaurant and the pub are very relaxed. There are a mix of people onboard, some choose not to dress up and that’s fine, but it’s important to say a lot of passengers choose Cunard especially for the formality. I hope you give it a try and have a great time!
I am put off by piped music everywhere. In this day and age when people can each have their own.music i dont want it by the pool etc. it spoils almost every beach for me. It it always there in all public outdoor spaces? Love the musicians and bands though
Thank you for watching. I have to say I haven’t been particularly aware of piped music. There is music by the pool for the sail away party, but I don’t recall it being on at other times. Next time I’m on board I will be listening out! Agreed the musicians are always excellent.
Thank you for this, it was the best one I have watched. You covered all of it and your filming was very well done. I am even more excited to be doing a cross Atlantic voyage.
That was an excellent and very thorough tour of the QM2. It looks like you had super weather. I hope to sail on her in the very near future. Thanks for a great tour.
Hi Tom, thank you for watching. Yes we we’re very lucky with great weather. It was a lovely cruise and a joy being on QM2. I hope you have a great time when you’re on board!
@@timstravelguides A few years ago, my husband and I crossed the Atlantic and back (15 nights for a double crossing). It was sublime! As for the weather, we had a couple of stormy days in the mid-Atlantic, and I think that just added to the charm. This ship is simply amazing with her advanced stabilization--the waves were crashing up the sides of the ship, and she just hummed along, clearly unperturbed by it all.
Thanks for the video, We are booked on a 14 night Med cruise on July 14th. We are counting the days! Did you have a favorite place/drink on the ship? Would you sail on her again?
Hi, many thanks for watching my video. Yes we would absolutely sail on her again! Any time! Our favourite place for a drink before dinner was the Chart Room. We then enjoyed a nightcap after the show in the Commodore Club. There are lots of lovely places to relax on the ship - I’m sure you’ll enjoy finding your own favourites. I hope you have a great trip!
@@timstravelguides I think everyone has their own personal favorites. For me, I agree with you that the Chart Room and Commodore Club ranked highest--ironically in the reverse! We like the Commodore Club for a before-dinner drink and enjoyed some entertainment and after-dinner cocktails in the Chart Room.
@@timstravelguides Absolutely true. Not only are there many venues, but also the energy of each changes throughout the day, so you may find that you like a particular spot moreso in the evenings while another spot may become your favorite earlier in the day but not so much later on. Lots of choices, to be sure! With all those options, I was just commenting how uncanny that you and I have similar favorites.
@@timstravelguides Unfortunately our trip was a total disaster. I caught COVID and spent 8.5 days in a cabin all by myself with meals delivered to my door. My family also got it but were able to stay together. I do not know if I can ever bring myself to cruise again.
Thanks for the video. We were on the same cruise which we enjoyed but you failed to mention the awful embarkation process at the cruise terminal and failed to video the long queue of angry and irate passengers at the purser’s desk trying to get access to their staterooms because their key cards would not work . Even after getting their key cards lots of passengers had to return to the desk because the key still would not work. We enjoyed the cruise and the food , service and entertainment was good but I think when doing a travel blog you need to be honest with viewers and show the cruise warts and all.Yes, lots to do on the cruise was very good but there were also some elements which you failed to mention or show.
Hi Rob, thank you for watching my video and taking time to comment. You make a valid point which I take onboard. The key card issue absolutely caused a lot of inconvenience for many. My hope is the video is watched over time so I decided it wasn’t the right thing to highlight an issue on one specific cruise. I wanted the video to be be more of a general overview of the ship. Yes there were some hitches, but overall we had a great cruise and experience and I’m naturally inclined to focus on the positive. I hope the key card issue doesn’t happen again as it was a painful start for all involved on that specific cruise. Luckily things got better. Thank you again for watching.

@@margaretfoster2447 thank you for watching. I’m pleased you enjoyed the video and great to hear you had a lovely cruise. Wish we were still on it now!
@@timstravelguides It was our very first cruise, so the voyage card situation confused us. We used whatever cards for getting off and on the ship for our excursions and for trying out which one was going to work to get back into our stateroom, as sometimes it took a few swipes to get our door open using different cards! We were lucky that someone was on the floor with a universal voyage card to let anyone into their stateroom if need be, and we didn't need to ask them for assistance. It has not put us off wanting to sail with them again, but I hope there would not be a similar situation again.
@@margaretfoster2447 glad to hear it hasn't put you off cruising.
