Steve Hillage is a rare kind of artist. He was already known in the seventies for his own brand of Space Rock (I'm referring to his early solo albums, not to what he did earlier with Gong, although that was an important period too in his musical career) but he is also one of very few musicians from that period who managed to remain relevant into the 21st century thanks to this new project called System 7. I like what he does a lot.
ages ago I read the famous Space Daze book, amazing read, forgotten heaps tho as my mind has been Dazed by experiences LOL, Gong, Ozric Tentacles, Hawkwind, Tangerine Dream will always live on
And always uplifting all the way through. Yes! He will always have a special place in my heart. The first album I ever heard was Green. I was mesmerized & enchanted. Very happy to see a quarter of a million views for this sumptuous piece as well. The old vibe is still there in the newer music. I suppose we may as well call if the Golden Vibe ♥
@@foobman When I was very young, I liked Motivation and Green equally, but over time Green just shone brighter and brighter. I'm probably one of few who enjoyed his music more when he put some funk into it. That opening to "Unidentified Flying Being". That's the stuff!
Ahhhh! That’s what it’s all about right there! Life changing music. Had to call my teenage daughter in and have her listen to this. I told her if she ever wanted to know what her dad was about, this is what dad is about! Serendipity!!!!!!
I love System 7....the couple comes from afar....they have been so good and original for so many years, since Gong....thanks! Really! Your music is so nice....
Discovered this by accident , the great Steve Hillage still around !! Beautiful stuff , I'm an old hippy type would enjoy a joint to this !!, old and modern mixed great stuff
This is a work of art : we loved "Hinotori" and have loved Steve's and Miquelle's work across many years...this is bliss, and without any herbal/chemical enhancements! Just beautiful! thank you both!
thank you steve hillage for years and years ihave bin followed you yes ofcourse, don,t forget gong & s.hillage band in the earley 80s and late 70s'HOW I LOVE YOUR intence music factory,,
I've had a shit day.. I'm not feeling so well... I've just listened and watched this and I'm so greatful that there are people like Steve hillage and the like that still put absolute joy in my heart... Thanks to you all, your a treasure to many...
I've had this video in my Favourites section since it came out and I have to say - ITS JUST MAGICAL! Both the music and video compliment each otehr perfectly!!!
+Colin Hallum Basically those who leads this project were young hippies in the 70s playin' in psychedelic rock bands... This is a natural evolution of previous Steve Hillage projects... a big part of the roots of electronica take place in those early 70s Although so many of the younger generation of DJ's don't give a fuck about the roots of their own music...
To date myself terribly, I went to the Glastonbury festival in 1979. Steve Hillage was the headline act on the main stage on Saturday night. Excellent memories of that night. (What I can remember of it...) Good to hear him and Miquette went on to do this stuff.
always loved Steve Hillages Music ever since i first listened to And Not Or Album ...Not realising he had been with David Allen and The Most Excellent Flying Teapot Lot!!!!
wow beautiful stunning sound and visual experience futuristic space style music 2001 space odyssey meets vangelis and pink Floyd love to hear more of his music instrumental perfection
llegue a esta banda escuchando a estive Hillage y creo que sus creadores son seres concientes del siguiente paso de la evolución del ser humano y dan una luz de esperanza a los tiempos actuales que se están viviendo
I initially thought this would have to be an Australian band. Listening to this conjures up an image of a white Land Cruiser kicking a plume of red dust in the Australian outback!
Steve Hillage, forefather of techno, along with Kraftwerk, me thinks Kraftwerk first though, but, anyway, its awesome, reminds me of Green album, reckon?
Analogue modular ambient heaven! Node will play live at the Royal College of Music in London on Feb 27th 2015. Full modular rig! Tickets from the RCM box office. Spread the word! www.rcm.ac.uk/events/listings/details/?id=549161
Firebird? You mean a phoenix? I don't know about Japan but a Phoenix is a symbol for resurrection (or continueation // evolution) I thought that was pretty common knowledge
