M&S Doncaster would've looked like this I believe when it was a furse. However in 2002 Thyssen did a very heavy mod which involved the doors changing to standard doors. Still has that epic loud hydraulic motor sound though and it still runs on a chained hydraulic mechanism. This lift is epic and I need to film it lol
@@GenericLifts yeah sadly a lot of them have had really heavy modernizations. Doncaster's one had a very heavy mod by Thyssen in 2002, Romford's furse had a heavy mod by UK Lifts in the 2000s and Eastbourne's furse very recently had a heavy mod by guideline in 2019.
The doors look similar to how the Norwich M&S Lifts were back before 2006 when Schindler modernised them before then full replacement in 2010. I think the lifts were furse and then KONE did a TMS mod on them in the 1990s.

There used to be lots of lifts like the one in this video in M&S stores, but most of them got heavily modernised

@@glat15 There's a furse just like the ones in M&S stores at the Royal Oldham Hospital ua-cam.com/video/HUpZ_zzEOpc/v-deo.html

Pretty much all M&S lifts used the have those doors
Oh the thumbnail is Richmond...
It is indeed
@@GenericLifts The windows in the doors of the lift still suit a modern M&S store, interesting!
@@MichalM honestly, it's pure nostalgia seeing a lift in an M&S store with original doors
I was about to say
The good thing about it is simply because it's a lift :P
Hydraulic?
Yep
