Yooo no way I love Polyphia so much this is going to be incredible Edit: It was in fact incredible, and I have no idea how tim does it, I thought I was like, somewhat decent at guitar before hearing these xD
If you can bench press 300 pounds and think you're pretty good, but you look at bench press world records which range from 667 pounds to over 1400 pounds depending on the details, you'll think you're not that impressive. It's still impressive to lift 300. You just need to stop comparing yourself to the best out there.
you did PHENOMINAL ON THIS holy shit!!!! like you are one with the drums sometimes i think tim henson is somehow actually a guitar in a human body lmao thats how he can make it sound so superb
Jerod always plays with a single bass drum pedal, as far as I'm aware. So if you're referring to hits like around 1:03, he's able to accomplish that by playing a double stroke--or just a "double"--on the bass drum with his right foot! There are different techniques that make this possible; most drummers use either the heel-toe or the slide techniques, but there are also variations of them. John Bonham of Led Zeppelin was really the first drummer to pioneer this usage of triplets (and subsequently fast 16th notes and 32nd notes, the latter of which Jerod is playing in this video) on a single bass drum pedal. Larnell Lewis is one of the best drummers around, and he does incredible single-pedal footwork. I definitely recommend checking him out! This is a link to a video from the Drumeo UA-cam channel of Larnell explaining his technique (which I personally like to call "reverse heel-toe," or "toe-heel," although I don't know if it has a proper name): ua-cam.com/video/k8sTPNNh6hM/v-deo.html
2:25 drum battle between Jerod and Clay! no dude, the other clay, the one in the drums. not on the bass. dude! the OTHER clay plays the drums. why are you so confused about it?
Clay is such a monster on drums. The way he creates space should be studied.
0:04 The timings dude, how are they always so perfect?
We need a drum battle between 8bitdrummer and Dankpods.
YES OH MY GOD I NEED THAT
The Punishment Will Be Throwing Symbols At A Wall For Whoever Loses.
@@InklingFan77Mettaton1936 i think that would be a win win for wade honestly
The fact that you can execute this live that flawlessly is a testament to your skill! Mad respect!
Did Jerod get competitive at drumming for this one? I never doubted he can match someone like Clay Aeschliman, but it sure felt like a special spark

My favorite Polyphia track is Ego Death because I've always been a sucker for strong bass lines

AAAAAAAAAAA GOOO POLYPHIAAA
how does he sound like he’s hitting the double bass while keeping the hihat closed
It's just the type of pedal he's using for the bass drum.
He presses it multiple times with right foot it seems
