When you put the smoked thigh in there, you put the lid locker on. All vac brands say not to do that as it could damage the hinge on the lid. Lid locker is only for storage.
Great leaning video, Thank you sir. My wife and I have been using our old style vac sealer for many years. I has worked well for us. I glad you put this informative video together. We are going to start a budget together to buy one of these units. Back in my fish days, I occasionally ran a very large commercial vacuum sealer that could seal several hundred lbs. an hour. Stay Safe, Bee Free. Shalom from SW Denton county Tx.
Hey, I want to see you seal some wet corn cut off the cob. I'll be a believer if I see that. I have bought 2 different vacuum sealers, but they all seem stymied by corn off the cob with the juice that accompanies it.
Nice machine at a great price. When you start processing chicken, it makes for a great presentation on cut ups. Not so much for a whole bird. Dozens of uses!
I Vacuum seal stuff all the time, even soups but those you have to pre freeze or it makes a mess and does not get all the air out. Also I will buy meats on sale and bake them in bulk and separate them into meal sizes which makes them fast food - lol. think about it if you use your stove for each roast that about 1 hour or more each time but if you do say 4 roasts at once it saves a lot of time and energy.
Dehydrated good and cheap investment and easy to do but when planning long term storage best tool available freeze dryers coupled with vacuum sealer would be ideal , and no worries about eclectic issues either from supply or mechanical breakdowns
Good video. i heard you should set the cooling time to twice as long than the sealing time to preserve the heating wire. if sealing time is 2 second i guess 4 seconds for cooling time. i just read it from a random youtube comment though.
Just got the vevor dz160c and it is in rough shape. The power switch does not always turn on. The bags do not seal at all. There were broken rivets on the bottom so the machine sags down to one side. The oil was full I did not have to fill it. Currently waiting for vevors reply. I will let everyone know their reply....
I broke down and got the machine. Was looking at the smaller non chamber ones, but found bad reviews on 90 percent of them for not sealing properly, or having to switch from dry to wet with each bag. (default setting was dry.) It would have been nice to have a link to the bags for the machine with the video, though.
I'd recommend always freeze for at least 24 hours then vacuum seal. I freeze all of my flours, any flour boxed goods, rice, etc to kill larvae, then take out and store either in vacuum sealed bags or food grade containers/buckets.
Very timely! My Cabelas 'Pro' sealer has died after not a lot of use. Overpriced for what it was for sure. I have been looking at chamber sealers and wondered about the Vevor, I hope to see more about this machine as you get busy with it. Do you use any mylar bags? I wonder if it seals mylar? Thank you for sharing this.
I have the same unit. you don't have to use the CLAMP over the lid every time you seal, that's just for storing the unit, just sayin... thanks for the video, enjoy the unit...
Once you get used to using your chamber vac you'll wonder how you did without. Its cheaper to buy bags by the case; cheaper than wrapping meat in freezer paper. Whole chickens are better packaged in a high quality heat shrink bag, but cut ups display much nicer in a vac seal bag.
For Americans ; ) - for third world people 2months of entire salary IF you get it. The vacuum sealer works amazing. The pineapples looked jummy. Try to do mangoes if you can get them. They are really nice when dried.
So... they "sent you" a $400.00 +\- vacuum sealer out of the goodness of their hearts... OR, ... maybe there was a quid-pro-quo of GIVING you the unit for the creation of an "honest review" video ??? Content creators, I think, should be a little more upfront with their "honest reviews" and tell their viewers that what they are about to see is nothing more than a TV commercial, by a paid spokesperson, disguised as an "honest review". Here again, my opinion, I think this is an integrity issue by not disclosing upfront that there was an agreement of payment (in kind/like kind) for the promotional content they are about to see. Simply saying "they sent it to me" doesn't cut it. Amazon "sends" me things all the time, but I pay for those items. When someone spends their own hard earned money for an item they tend to be more critical of any shortcomings. Get it for free and oh well, I don't have a penny in it so who cares if it deficient or not. Please consider being more forthright with any compensation disclosure.
@@RedToolHouse oh yes... that will do-er. Yep... you met the legal requirements. Ever heard the phrase... there is the legal letter of the law, and then there is the spirit of the law ? If you think that little inconspicuous, briefly displayed tag at the very beginning of a video meets the spirit of integrity, then some moral refresher courses might do you some good. Its your channel, run it as you see fit, but dishonesty is not something I myself appreciate. Buy hey, maybe I'm all alone on this.
I would bet 99% of the audience know that if I said it was sent to me for free and there was a paid promotion tag at the beginning it should be pretty clear. I used no dishonest language that you have to go buy this machine or that I fully endorse it. In fact, I said, so far I have had no issues with it. If something is sent to me and it is junk, I don’t do a video of it. You do realize that every channel that references an Amazon link in their video makes money from that right? Also, each channel can control how many ads are displayed during their video. This is all done to help make the effort of doing videos worth while. If a product has an application on my farm and a company wants to send it to me, I will check it out. If I feel it had value, then I will do a video.
@@RedToolHouse I would take that bet. And yes, I realize that far too many channels have succumbed to the tempting lure of easy money... and the companies are well aware of such. Some channels may think they are getting over on the companies, but in fact its quite the opposite. UA-cam has become nothing more than commercial TV, and the credibility of the content has suffered as a result. However there are still some channels that do the content creation because they love the teaching and helping aspect of their efforts, and they are unaffected by the temptations of the commercialization by the corporate world. For many its all about the money, and dam the viewers. Sad really.
Sorry you feel it is all or nothing. I hope to still learn from channels even if they endorse a product for pay. They have influenced my purchases and have help me make better informed decisions
We process all our own chicken and had the same problem with failed seals due to moisture. Definitely adding this to our homestead.
I have a sealer which suits my needs as a single senior. It saves me so much time and money. Love it.

We do small batch sealing, a partial freeze helps with the liquid issues.

Dozens of uses!
I have two, one for bags like yours and a big 3 gallon regular vacuum chamber for doing large jars. Chamber vacuums kinda changed my life 😆

Been thinking about getting one for a while, so thanks for the video. just ordered one
Love our chamber sealer. Really changes the storage plan for a lot of things. We even season meats then seal.
You see that a lot on the cooking shows too.

Great video as always! Can you share with me the model or a link to the vacuum sealer? We have been looking to buy a new one. Thanks!
Should be in the video description. Thanks!
You can use them to seal more than just food.
If the plum tree is on a farm how is it wild plum jam?
Because it is a wild tree (naturally occurring) not a cultivar.
Hey I was just wondering it whole chickens would fit in this unit?
Yes
Does it have a jar attachment so you can VS ball jars?
This model says it's only 2" deep (1.96) is this big enough for a whole chicken?
How expensive are the bags?
So I gues this would slowdown mealy bugs?
Since it was frozen, the mealy bugs are already dead. I think putting in the freezer for a while is still good practice. Before you seal the bugs in.
I'd recommend always freeze for at least 24 hours then vacuum seal. I freeze all of my flours, any flour boxed goods, rice, etc to kill larvae, then take out and store either in vacuum sealed bags or food grade containers/buckets.
I love vacuum sealing. We use a lot of cheese and when I vacuum seal it, it stays fresh sooo much longer!

Good info!
Awesome. I would like to see you do chickens, veggie’s. Blessings🙂
TROY, can you vacuum fresh stuff, like green beans, or, veggies, for the pantry? Or ya gotta freeze that stuff afterwards?
The concern is moisture in the product. You could dry beans and vacuum seal without freezing
dz 260c is not in stock tuff to buy if not in stock
There is a link to other versions as well.
I confess to imagining while the wheat flour was sealing, what if it exploded in a perfect room-sized ball of dust

My God, I'm first to post!!!!
I'm not sure why everyone gets the model number wrong unless VEVOR doesn't realize they are sending ppl the DZ-320 and the DZ-260C. 😅
Gosh that;s a large piece of equipment. Not gonna just be a counter appliance...lol.

Need to read your instructions, it says not to use the bar on the lid! Also you could try a different diet to lose weight!
Wait, I'm over weight???
400.00?? Unless you are raising cows/hogs, that's unaffordable. Plus cost of bags...

I got mine for 266.00 thru Vevor. Discounts, and the registration discount brought it down in price, plus I bought the unit that was a bit smaller.

There is a Paid Promotion tag that pops up at the beginning of the video anytime a product has been given to me. It is required by UA-cam.
