Here’s the pattern written out if that helps anybody! But also, she does a good job of slow clear explanation :) Crochet bookmark Chain 53 Row 1- Skip last chain, single crochet 52 across Row 2- Turn, chain 1, single crochet 52 across Row 3- Turn, chain 1, single crochet 52 across Row 4 - turn, ch 1, single crochet, *skip the next stitch, double crochet 5 times in same next stitch , skip next stitch, single crochet* repeat across the row to make shells across the row. At the end of the row, make your single crochet between shells in the top center of the bookmark, then continue with shells around the other edge. The goal is to have the shells directly across from each other down the line. Add tassel to the end if desired.
Thank you. I have now made my first bookmark rhankscto your slow, clear instructions. I hope my friend likes her gift as much as I enjoyed making it. Again thank you 😊

Thank you very much for this lovely bookmark. I was surprised that mine came out pretty good, considering the challenge of turning the bookmark and continuing on the other side. Your instructions were excellent! More bookmarks please.
Thank you for the clear instruction! I am forgetful, but this pattern is easy to remember. I have made dozens of them. I use different yarn and I have to figure out how many chains should I make on my own since you did not mention it. The chain is: multiple of 5 + 3. Love from Indonesia!
Thank you v much for the detailed explanation. Just finished my first one and it's so beautiful. Can't beleive. Thank you for explaining soo patiently. ❤️

This is absolutely gorgeous and it is the first time I’ve ever worked with any yarn the small. I used a 10 with a 1.75 mm needles. So it’s tiny but it turned out so beautiful and your instructions were so clear. Please make more bookmark patterns!!
I love that you start your video tutorials off with Biblical scriptures. Thank you for spreading hope in the world through God’s word, and shining God’s light of love through your love for crochet. Praise the Lord! And God bless you.
Thanks for your time and teaching experience in this great bookmarks examples. Just wanted to let you know that is an art that only few can appreciate it. From San Diego California and also from my heart I sincerely appreciate your talent. Have a blessed day.
Such a beautiful clear tutorial, what brand of yarn would be the right one for making bookmarks? Could you advise me were to buy the yarn? Thank you for sharing. Valerie.
If you mean how the thread twists I had the same trouble till hubby explained that you must pull thread from centre of ball, not from outside. If the ball has already been started from the outside you must put it on a pole holder and let it pull gently, always keeping thread horizontal, if you pull it upwards it will start to twist again. Hope this helps!
All bookmarks are made the same, the only difference between the bookmarks is that some were made with multi colour yarn while others are made with plain colour yarn.
@@glitrbug52 if you are after a written bookmark pattern you could try buying a book that has bookmarks patterns. Or maybe try your local library, you could find some there

The bookmark tends to twist, in particular at the start of your work. However, if you used cotton yarn then you can just iron the bookmark on both sides, this in turn will keep the bookmark flat. Hope this helps😊

Beutiful thank you
Loved this, I too made one while watching the video. I am just not crazy about how it twists.

The video instructions are so clear and paced. You make the steps seem so simple. are there other types?
Can we use thicker yarn?
Yes, you could use thicker yarn but just keep in mind that the bookmark will be thicker which will make it harder to close the book
Thank you
i had a hard time hearing you, but great tutorial!
The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O Lord, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.
This is lovely. Do u have a written pattern please
No, not for the bookmark but I am planning to release another bookmark pattern soon & that will have a written pattern.
Thank you for this video! If I wanted to make it slightly shorter-how many chains should I do?
Thanks!
Thank u so much i made one today, if you can make a tutorial about the book mark with the mixed color pink grey

Lindo! Consegui fazer o meu, gratidão! 🇧🇷
Is there a pattern for this anywhere? I can't work from videos. They drive me crazy. This is exactly the patten I've been watching for.
You could just write what shes doing down like a pattern then do the book mark
Obviously, that didn't work or I wouldn't have asked about a pattern.

What kind of yarn are you using?
Do I detect a fellow Aussie? *cough* Spotlight*cough* 😉🇦🇺
so any multipel of 2 +1 ...is this the number of stiches required ???
Question: what size is the Cotton Yarn? Can I use another brand? I can't find Cannon at Michael's or in Amazon. I just ordered the hooks.
If you can't find this sort of yarn use yarn that is a bit thicker then your normal sewing thread, other brand of yarn should work too😊
Ps 56 : 3 Amen!
How to do with two colors?
Do you have a cross designed bookmark?
Not at this stage but is a good idea!
I keep trying to make this and the stitches are correct but it comes out all twisted. How do you get it to lay flat?
The bookmark tends to twist, in particular at the start of your work. However, if you used cotton yarn then you can just iron the bookmark on both sides, this in turn will keep the bookmark flat. Hope this helps😊
Robyn's Simple Life you can wet it and pin it down, this works for me.
Nice bookmark but could you please speak up. Could barely hear what you were saying.
do you know arabic language please teach me
I am a novice and this does not appear to be that simple.
