God I love this song--They say when a man gets older he cries easier--I cant get thru this song without crying--God I love this song--Willie or Leon--I love it
You got that right! I loved it when Buck snuck up on stage, and started playing, and sining. I also loved Willie in other movie, and T.V. shows. One I liked was "Dr. Quinnn Medicine Woman",
Im 64 and i was twenty years old when this film came out! All i listened to in 1980 was rock and roll but i became a huge Willie Nelson fan when i saw the movie Honeysuckle Rose and when i heard the song On The Road Again ! Long live Willie Nelson! LEGEND!
I know it was the last scene of a movie, but it could have been any one of 100 different Willie Nelson shows at the time or one of his picnics . At the end of the final credits there were a lot of names of people that I have fond memories of . A feel good video .
Did you go to his shows back in the day? I go to music festivals and its neat to see how my dad's generation got down at events like this, part of the reason I love this movie
Back when all Texans could get together and enjoy Willie and family under the hot Texas sun. Those days feel like they are long gone, sadly. *stating this because it was filmed in Austin
Saw him in concert three times, got his bandana two different times by going up to the stage, pointing to the bandana on his head, throwing my bandana to him, then he threw his to me!! I think I still have them in my hope chest. I love the 70’s theme of this movie. This is exactly what his concerts were like.
They had great chemistry in this movie Willie Nelson can sing to me any day oh ya..... I am an odd one I have always been attracted to older men at a very young age from Sidney Pottier , to Clint Eastwood to Willie Nelson to Robert Redford to many other fine looking actors it must be I was lacking a dad or male role model lol... oh I have enjoyed all my idols that have left a lasting impression within my heart God bless them all .....
@@PeaceMonger I actually meant Leon Russel, the writer performer, not Helm from The Band. I will have to check that out though, I always thought Russel wrote that.
1:35 out in the audience Amy Irving the other woman in the movie honeysuckle Rose looking at Diane face to face 💖 2:02 don't look on her face is priceless 2:39 ❤❤❤
Saw Willie and Emmylou in St. Petersburg Florida while this was being filmed. Wondered why all his backstage equipment had Buck Bonnan on it. The old Sunshine Skyway bridge, before it was knocked in Tampa Bay, is in one exterior scene of bus.
The plot and characters in this movie are really not good, neither is the script, and some of the acting reaches OK, but the music is astonishing - just the highest calibre trad country music played by a rockin' dirty blues band you will ever see. Period. Cannot recommend highly enough.
@@jimludwick3495 Wrong jim. Just because the record producer misspelled the title does not effectively CHANGE the title. The song was written in 1879 by JK Alwood. It was titled 'THE UNCLOUDED DAY.' Many, including Willie Nelson have recorded the song. So, before stupidly asserting "this isn't even true" you should get some FACTS. I've just given them to you. You're welcome.

Willie writes songs about how I feel about life.thank you Willie.hero of mine
He really does a fantastic job on this song and I love his version, but it was written by Leon Russell.
Saw him in concert three times, got his bandana two different times by going up to the stage, pointing to the bandana on his head, throwing my bandana to him, then he threw his to me!!

Leon Russell did this song too!!
Leon wrote it!
I love this movie.
Absolutely awesome!
Always will be one of my favorite willie tunes
Not a Willie tune
@@inkd42088Willie has made it his own. Him and Leon were the bestest of friends. Shut ur mouth.

Best movie of all time!
That look she gives him at 2:31 says "Dammit! I can't stay mad at you." His look back says "No. No you can't."

That explains a lot. Thank you.
LEGEND
Amen to that! Great movie!
She was gorgeous and had a fine body
Great song
One of the best
Saving this song for you
Really good movie
I like rock music and always thought he is a genius writer and performer. That is a great song by Leon Helms, Carpenters did a great version too.
It’s Willie Nelson, not Levon Helm ⭐️
@@PeaceMonger I actually meant Leon Russel, the writer performer, not Helm from The Band. I will have to check that out though, I always thought Russel wrote that.
Fantastic
If u all liked this score check out movie tender mercies with Robert Duvall he wrote the songs him n Betty Buckley were awesome check it out n enjoy
Willie!
Telling your wife you really do love her in front of several thousand people and making it feel small

I have been looking for this video for forever and it showed up in a list and I had forgot that I had "liked" it a while back.
A Leon Russell song.
No! Josiah Alwood wrote Unclouded Day, not Leon Russell.
A Song For You................written by the late, great Leon Russell.
Dead wrong. The song was written by Josiah Alwood....long before Russell penned anything.
❤❤❤❤💙💙💙💙💙💙😥😥😥😥😥😥
Nombre de está película, por favor 🙏🙏🇻🇪🇻🇪
Está en el título... se llama Honeysuckle rose.
Why does the title of this song get butchered by most every writer? The title is : UNCLOUDED DAY!
this isn't even true. It says uncloudy day on the cover of the actual record album, as well as on other recordings.
