    Keep it up man. You've been nailing a lot of questions for people.
    Also, would love a vid about how good technique physically FEELS. Like which muscles feel loaded, or where the torque feels built up and how to get there.

      Excellent suggestion. As someone who has reached a confident place with my dg, I find a lot of beginners benefit from generalized feel/flow/instinct/timing descriptions that avoid too many "technique" details.

    • @micah_lee
      @micah_lee 3 роки тому +2

      For me, that would be soooo difficult to describe. Like at first I honestly felt like there wasn’t a feeling. Maybe it is subtle. I was thinking back to when I was messing around and intentionally mimicking bad form (rounding, bad timing etc) and I definitely know it feels different. Also, some things feel right for me but isn’t the correct technique by far. Just food for thought.
      I saw a post similar to this on reddit, but they mentioned that Lifting has certain feelings you get when you do it correctly. The only thing I have experienced like this was diving into pools. When you do it correctly, you go quicker through the water and it feels like the water is moving over you better.

    I can say from experience, you can grip it too tight. Too much field work and too tight of a grip equaled torn collateral ligaments in my index and then middle fingers. It sucked. Had to learn to throw lefty, change my grip, and power down a bit. It took almost 2 years to heal fully, but at least can now play 54 holes in a day without pain again. Be careful out there y'all, that first year was sad. Also, just now after 2 1/2 years I'm able to play guitar again with a pick. It was excruciating to even try. Stupid disc golf, I love you.

  • @rolazrei
    @rolazrei 3 роки тому +13

    I noticed today that I throw nose up sometimes I believe due to an imbalance of when the disc last touches my fingers beneath the rim versus my thumb on top. I feel it's important to make sure your thumb last touches at the same time or after your other fingers to keep it nose down. I feel like the nuance of exactly how the disc rips out, off which fingers and when exactly during the whip action is never talked about in form videos... It's very fast, but imbalance in grip position and strength is also a huge factor in off axis torque at release.

    I think if there was a tug of war between two Ezras using a disc, that disc would be torn in half.

    I’ve been playing a few years and can hyzerflip flippy discs backhand 300-325, but I put my thumb real close to the rim...I know I gotta fix it, but it feels so weird to have it where I should! Guess I just need to keep trying... Really like your videos- to the point and easy to understand:)

    I think it's super dope the way you used keeping your arm like a noodle. The handful of times I've ever "coached" someone I've used the same food. The more your arm is like a noodle the less you'll noodle arm your throw. 🤣🤣🤷

    That live bird reference was really good. Although idk the movie. But if you are holding a bird, you are gripping it tight so that you don’t lose the bird, but not so much that you crush it to death.
