If you look on the map, your sprite actually gets shrunken down for macro zone, so despite the name, everything is normal size
It could just be the camera zooming out so you can see the whole house
The shrinking happens at 0:04 even before changing maps, so can't be that. Or at least, not just that
I believe Macro might not be giant house at all, but a regularly sized one, the surrounding hills just warp your size like the ingame map. Probably made so by that silly wizard.
I vote Turtle, because I want some respite from land turtles after Sea Turtle Rocks.
I vote Mario Zone. Despite already being on track to just do every stage in order anyway, I can not let this glorious chance moment of democracy go to waste!
I always found it weird how THIS is one of the few games that doesn't pause when you take damage or get a power up, you just kind of keep moving.
one thing i noticed is the 1up icon on the hud still uses mario's palette (there's a red hat) despite you playing as luigi. luigi's doing all the work and mario's taking credit for it

The idea of exploring a house when you are the size of an ant for a platforming level is just very cute.
I also always thought the first level was underground essentially to imply that you are invading the house through an ant tunnel that leads inside

I WOULD say go for Mario zone cause the music there’s probably one of my favorites, so it’s one of the first zones I always end up doing.
But then again, doing them in order of the holes in the gate is greatly satisfying to see

I have a gameboy pocket and the original game, so I tried opening all three 1up boxes in that room. Surprisingly I didn’t notice any slowdown at all. The only difference is that they are hearts instead, so no idea why that would be. Anyways, I vote turtle zone.

i again vote for turtle zone next simply because it's the most boring and its best to not save it for last. Mario Zone or Pumpkin Zone would both be a fun note to end on but Turtle Zone would kinda make the late game a slog, going from mneh water levels to the questionably designed Wario Castle one after the other
