Holy cow, you guys are killing me... First Yukas kawaii presentation of the van made me chuckle, but the seatpost removal took me over the edge... I'm rolling on the floor Have a great trip you guys
Welcome to Australia, if you feel like popping over the great dividing range, 3 hrs west of Sydney is a town called Orange. We have a big mountain called Canobolas with a newly completed 8km gravity trail, among others, called the trail of awesomeness. Highly recommend the short drive out and spend a couple of days out this way.
Eric, it's just insane just to come to another country to buy a van and so simply transform it into a house! I'm just shocked how talanted you're guys you can survive in any conditions. Lord bless you, you're my heros! Send you a lot of love from the UK and Ukraine 🇺🇦
Also great that you have been to wedding bells trails. I noticed the steep roller on the superbowl trail at the end of this vid. There are some great longer trails around Coffs.
Man this was a great video all around. and I am STOKED to watch this series. - what y’all did to that van in no time is crazy impressive - this video was hilarious - y’all seem really stoked and happy to be there and that just makes the content 100x better
Welcome to Straya! Loving that you've put the acknowledgement of country in too. Massively respectful and appreciated. If you get a chance to ride in Victoria, get to Bright and Falls Creek. There are others well with the visit but they're closer to the NSW border. Enjoy the summer, it's hot and rather dusty so have chunky rubber up front!
Welcome to Australia, I'm from Melbourne and have some recommendations as follows: Mystic Mountain Bike Park (Bright Vic), Kosciuszko, La Larr Ba Gauwa Bike Park (Mount Alexander), Somewhere good mountain bike park (middle of no-where, 20 mins north of Traralgon), Maryvale Pines (Traralgon), Lake Mountain and Mount Stromlo (Canberra).
Hi @BCPov, if your staying longer in Australia I would deffinently recommend going to boomerang farm bike bark. I think it’s like a $50 entry but you get a car/shuttle to take you up the hills to where all the trails start.
I think you and your wife have two of the best mountain bike channels on UA-cam. I love how you both keep it real about your struggles and fears with riding. Thank you for that! It means so much to the average rider to see this and know that it is ok to struggle and be afraid.
Glad to see Yuka is recovering! Stoked you guys are in Aus!!!! Kiwarrak near Taree is unreal hey! I'm really looking forward to this series and seeing you both enjoy our trails up and down the east coast. Have fun and stay gnarly 🤙
Two heroes of this video: 1) Yuka for getting back on the bike (and being the sales model for your van lol), and 2) whatever brand of seatpost that still worked after you beat the ever-loving sh!t out of it. Wow! And great work on getting a van built up on the fly! You guys are amazing. Enjoy the winter down under!
Super Bummed to have missed you guys at Boomers, but super keen to see the video on it. Heard you met Ezz, he's a local legend!! Hope you enjoy the rest of your time here, it's pretty bloody great!!
Yes I was literally talking to my friend the other day saying oh BCPOV watches Froff he should come to Aus! You guys definitely gotta come to Perth we have some awesome spots like Nannup with the big freeride jumps at Tank 7 and the more enduro trails at Tank 8, Wellington Mills, Dwellingup and closer to Perth within a 50 minute drive out of town you have places like Kalamunda with Camel Farm which has lots of skinny drops rated black and another 60km of trails and Kalamunda Valley which have massive Rock Rolls, there is also Goat Farm about 35 minutes away and I’m there most weekend on my Nukeproof Mega👍 Also watch out for the Pea Gravel in WA, it’s pretty challenging but it makes people better at riding and Sam Hill trains at some trails close to him and the dirt there is like mental!
So cool to meet you guys at Maydena yesterday! Hope you enjoyed it! Curious to your and Yukas comparison to some of the big name places like Whistler. If you come down to Hobart and want some ideas on where to go let us know!
U have to go to stromlo Forrest park (mainly jump trails and flow, Vapour is the biggest jump trail, its several trails in one but its known as vapour) and majura pines (mainly tech trails, top left side is more challenging) in Canberra and Thredbo mountain bike park while your in Australia
Hey guys, and welcome to Australia 🇦🇺, finally. I hope you guys are going to check out Thredbo. And while on the way, why not check out the bike tracks at Cootamundra.
Haha the intro is the best! Welcome to Australia! Feel free to reach out when you start exploring NSW south of Sydney/Wollongong/South Coast, the ACT and of course the Snowy Mountains. We can help you out with places to stay as well as local area and trails advice. Happy travels!
Good to see you're adapting to logical Aussie way of solving problems! Welcome to Aus. When you get to Melbourne, have Long & Winding (Hamish) take you to his favourite trails. Also, I'm sure it's on your list, but make sure you don't miss Blue Tier in Tasmania.
Can't believe you showed the chats when you mentioned the famous smoko. Love it mate you have to listen to them they're honestly the best band of Australia
Would recommend sugarbag road, Mt cotton/Eastern Escarpment, Mt Joyce and definitely Hiddenvale in Queensland. If you go to WA good trail systems are Margaret river, Pemberton, Kalamunda and Nannup. I hope to see you sometime!
Finally! Something about Australia that it's on the beach!! And I agree, I'm struggling to get into MTB because of the loose rocks :( Canberra is great but hasn't got most stable ground.
Awesome to see that you're in oz mate. Get to Tassie asap (at least before winter when it starts to get dark real early and the temps drop) . Also you need to book your ferry ticket to tassie asap as the boat books out months in advance.
You 2 need to come down to Adelaide, South Australia while you're down under! There are some epic trails in Adelaide and around the state that you will fall in love with. I'd even go as far to say you can put the van in our driveway and spend a week in Adelaide exploring the trails!
Welcome to our country! If you ever get a chance to stop down near Batemans bay you should camp at Nelligan holiday park, they have tons of great spots it park the van with fire pits, a pub across the road, and I think there is some trails nearby
Fantastic video Eric, I was fortunately stoked to meet you guys at you first boomers trip! Enjoy the Aussie experience and I look forward to watching the adventures to come 👊🏼
It’s good to see you both! I’m glad Yuka’s back on the bike, and I completely get the hesitation to hit features. Nice work finding a van and converting it!
Haha no way you found Dave from Cycle Fast my local bike shop! - The Yorkshire Bike Mechanic! He is a total pro and a great guy. I’ll show him this he will be stoked 👍🏻
Hi Eric, our kids love watching your UA-cam channel, Yuka and yourself are great to watch! They think they spotted you in the McDonald’s Carpark tonight at Invermay Tasmania? Was it you guys? We operate a MTB business, maybe we could catch up and show you what we do if your in the area? Cheers Candace and Kane🤙
For the best mountain biking is down here where I live, in Victoria. if you make the trip, go to the Victorian high country, this is the closest to Canada as it gets. for riding places like mount Buller and falls creek are the best for lift served down hill. but for pedal trails the Mornington peninsula(Arthurs seat) and Ballarat is the best. than later you could head to Tasmania for rain forest trails. hope you enjoy the place I call home.
Hey guys, come and visit Fox Creek here in South Australia! it's a bit hot and dry at the moment, but has some great trails, make sure you try Blues Groove
Whatta a fair Dinkum bonza intro mate, welcome. Surely you guys have Cairns in your sights.. So many great trails up here, I've been waiting for an international UA-camr to make it up here, let alone 2 of the best! Look forward to maybe running into yas, good on ya!
There are a bunch of bike parks in Australia that you should go to like Atherton and Smithfield in QLD, Thredbo in NSW, mount Buller in Victoria and Maydena and blue derby in Tassie (Tasmania).
Welcome to Aus, Always wondered if you would make the trip. Make sure you check out the trails around the "Gong" (Wollongong NSW ) after riding most of the east coast and tassie for years I still think the "Gong" trails are up there with the best we have, good elevation drop, great soil and great beaches. If you get to Wollongong let us know, I would be stoked to show you guys around.
Superb job with the car rebuild, wau! Really impressive how you complete stuff and literally all makes sense in the van. And poor dropper post :( It is better to put enough carbon paste upfront so the post will never stuck.
Great vid. If you go back to Kiwarrak mtb Park, we can organise a guide as you missed a lot of the hidden gems that are in the forest . We have 80km of trail with a lot of progression.
4:42 If you want a good place to ride, go Bare Creek in Sydney. Amazing bike track, I go there quite a bit. You'll love it!! If you are still there, trust me, you should go.
Hi Eric I'm from Australia and I'm am so happy u came here. The best riding spots in Australia are bright in Victoria Tasmania has alot good spots and south Australia
This is something I always wished to see but never thought would happen😂. It’s so crazy seeing you film the M1 heading into the Gold Coast, there’s a lot of good mountain bike tracks around me on the Gold Coast/Brisbane so I hope you found a couple of the good ones
Wow! You sure are lucky to be in a warm riding destination. Wisconsin is cold as hell right now. Definitely thinking about taking a trip somewhere warmer next off season.
Very cool Eric! I'm planning on heading out to New Zealand (from Pennsylvania) next January, but the flight (26 hours) is the only thing I'm dreading. I have a seasonal business so it's the perfect time and place. Bernard Kerr just made a few video from Queensland and it looks magical.
Kiwarrak is my local. It was ravaged by bush fire a few years ago and with volunteers and funding grants they have made something truly destination worthy
Welcome to Australia. That see saw of doom is very scary, the camera didnt show the steep roll after it. Here are some suggestions to ride in NSW - Ourimbah Bike park, Barrington Bike Park.
