- Hi and welcome to little bird blythe. A while ago I uploaded a video asking which new hair you thought I should put on my happy blond blythe doll as she had a painted white scalp which I don't like to see. I checked the number of comments and the blue mohair wig was by far the favourite option. I liked the pink too but thought it would be good to try something new and actually make good use of a mohair wig! So in this video I am attaching the wig to the scalp of the blythe. I hope you enjoy seeing the process. I have several of these wigs and may now do the same for another doll too!

Sunnie Jayde Hi! Yes it does suit her doesn’t it! I love the colour. She has been having a wardrobe update this morning so I’ll post a dolly dress up soon 😂 I was tempted with the glue method and may well try that with another scalp, but I was a bit worried I’d ruin it and get glue in the hair this time and it’s my favourite coloured wig so I didn’t want to mess this one up 😂
You are so brave! But, that's how you have to tackle doll fixing sometimes.
Tammy Powley lol, brave or daft. Luckily all is ok with this one now, although I did chuckle after I’d said I wasn’t going to open her up again, then her pull ribbon broke 😂 so I had to. I love your new custom, she is so beautiful, her hair is amazing xxx

Christel Jensen thanks, it did work well, the wig was a good choice. I used gorilla glue, the superglue gel and just used a tiny amount around the edge of the scalp, it seems to have worked well but I suppose only time will tell! Xxx

Think I may be brave enough to try this now so watching your video again. How did you know which size of dome to get to replace the one she came with? Did you get the dome and scalp from cool cat?
Hi. I can't remember if I got the dome from coolcat, I may have done because they definitely sell them & the scalp was from there as I bought a few of them. I have loads of blythe body parts ready to go from various projects so it may have just been left over from a factory doll. I had opened this doll up before the wig project so I knew that the dome I had would fit. It was an RBL dome. I tried the scalp on the dome first to make sure it was snug. They are made of a rubbery material and was a lovely fit although the style of wig would have hidden any minor gaps between the scalp and dome as sometimes does happen. Which of your dolls are you re-scalping? Good luck! xxx
LittleBird Blythe I plan to rescalp a custom fake that I’m waiting to receive soon. One of current custom dolls Was rescalped By the person I got her from and the top does not fit the face plate and back plate correctly so it will not close all the way. I hope not to have the same issues when I try to do it to the doll that’s coming soon.
Tammy Powley that’s a shame for your custom. I’ve had dolls with poor fitting scalps, sometimes it’s because they have been poorly glued. I hope all goes well with your new doll xxx
