I’ve always wanted to post educational content like this but all the Digico’s are far away from me so I only see them on tour. I’m very happy you are making these videos. I wish I had this content when I was starting! Instead I had to read 400 page manuals! (And I still do lol… 🤦♂️)
Hey. Can you elaborate on what you mean by connecting 2 SD consoles? Do you mean on the same I/O rack, or do you mean like to mirror each other? Or as a backup to each other?
If i set my mix on the console and monitor mixes how i like it but in my daw not getting enough gain how can i gain it up without touching my mix on the digico?
Hey. Unfortunately, if you patch the recording through the copy audio menu, there is no way you can gain the signal except for the preamp gain itself. There are direct outs on each input channel, which can be patch to a output. The direct out has a line trim posibility. But if afterwards you want to use the recorded files for a virtual soundcheck, you might have to do some additional patching, and be aware of the gain level difference.
Hey Michele. No it's not necessary to have a switch. You can connect your primary port of your DMI Dante card directly to your computer. If you don't have a switch and you need 2 primary ports (one for your computer and one for something else for example), you can also set your DMI Dante card from 'Redundant mode' to 'Switched mode' using Dante controller. Then the two ports on the DMI Dante card are both primary ports.
