In many cases IP spoofing does not work as some may believe due to the security policies set in place by the top tier networks. There would be a minimal chance that this would work if the offending device was flooding TCP/UDP packets and even then there is a real slim chance it have any real major affect especially when most times as you stated the MAC address is also logged and this is generally the better option to base security policies on along side IPv4 and IPv6. Alos would inturn really make your own network non functional due to it being more than likely on the wrong Subnet :)

in all honestly its easy to find where someone lives and phone number all you need is their ip and a program on your pc what then tracks the area coding of the ip and then you have their phone number and exact address
Tracking an IP just gives you the general area and ISP of the person.

What gamer didn't at least once stay up all night playing a game that they enjoy, even it if meant sneaking around to do it? With that being said, the prank did have it's funny moments. The whole premise of a prank is to upset someone, only to look back at it as a funny moment. "Remember that one time I got pranked on Cod: Ghosts lol." All in all the prank was brutal, but there are far worse pranks out there by people with a far larger platform (Sal the Stockbroker ring a bell?)

There's nothing wrong with your kid playing call of duty or play online, as long as you monitor them. But if you're allowing them to chat online with random strangers while playing the game, yet don't bother to monitor the kid, there's something wrong there.
