What about the numerous reports of falling off mount? Have they fixed that problem?
If I am being honest, I have never came across anything related to that while I was planning to buy it. And its still going strong but anything like this happen will sure update everyone about it.
That problem seems very out of proportion imo. Almost all reports I've seen mention the camera tipping over on a tripod or the lens hitting a ground from some height (in which case, better for the lens to break off rather than damaging your camera's lens mount)
Just support it with your other hand and avoid using weak tripods. It's a heavy lens, no wonder there's a disbalance when using a tripod
@@karloveliki5373B&H has numerous reports of the mount falling off and it's not related to any abuse. At least one person reported that it happened gradually, the tiny screws got loose probably because the thread was stripped and the lens fell off.
I've never read any reviews about any lens (there are many heavier lenses) that had the same problem. It's definitely a manufacturing defect and unless it's fixed I wouldn't recommend buying any heavy Samyang lenses.

No! The mount has metal construction and also rubber gasket to provide weather protection as well
